1281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a gambler be a good bitcoin trader? on: November 23, 2023, 09:41:44 PM
As a gambler, I did traded many times before but then stopped because I did have a lot of bad trades. But that does mean that I am a bad gambler? Yes and no.

I have good trades as well.

So it can happen that a gambler can also be a good bitcoin trader or even an altcoin trader. Anyone can do that regardless of his profession or his hobbies and activities.
In short, yes, I think it can. It is very similar due to the fact that you need to make decisions based on probabilities. But everywhere we need to learn new information and improve our level, only this can lead us to success in gambling and bitcoin trading. If before this in gambling the player simply pressed one button and spun spins, then in bitcoins he will most likely press buy/sell chaotically. And if he also puts up a large leverage, then this is the same as betting the entire deposit on red in roulette.

There are even several living examples, one of them is a successful influencer who was previously very successful in poker before learning about cryptocurrencies. I am amazed by his level of knowledge and thanks to it he earned 10 times more than in poker.
Yeah, so it's the come and go from other professionals that are good in something and going on with trading and gambling.

When you're good in poker or any gambling games that requires you to think and analyze. That means that you can also analyze the trades that you're about to do for your reference.

That's why it is open for everybody to take their own journeys in trading if they're a gambler and they want to try something new. And from this forum, many of us are both.
1282  Other / Off-topic / Re: reminder: don't trust antivirus on: November 23, 2023, 01:48:28 PM
Remember that there's this belief on who creates the viruses and the antidotes? They're both the same people if you've watched it somewhere from various movies, etcs.

But some of these antiviruses are truly good in giving us notifications on which apps should be avoided based on the contents of it. They're detecting it and that's a good help.

If someone randomly downloads on the web named "antivirus" in general, a lot of unknown names in the antivirus field might be suggested made by cons.

That I agree.
I think OP is just trying to figure out if somehow there's a resemblance in different industries because they are both incorporated with risk.
Trading requires a lot of patience and somehow the chances of having a good trade will depend on how we read the analysis.
No such thing when it comes to casino games because all you have is rely on luck.
Better, I'd probably compare trading with sports betting. Analysis is also needed there to enhance the chances of winning because there are strong fighters/boxers/teams out there which could be a mismatch to their opponents. I mean the odds are there for a reason because analysis is being done and some of them are too strong which is also the reason why they put handicaps on weaker opponents.
For sports bettors who made it a serious hobby, these statistics will help them find the lower risk bet but with better profits. It's not always accurate but somehow because of that research, we could increase the percentage to win.
Yeah, not a bad comparison but there's resemblance from analyzing sports that you are about to bet and the same goes with trading.

The risk is always there and analysis is helping us to make better decisions with basis so, you're not wholly relying to luck even if you can trade and bet recklessly.

Also, accompany it with experiences and you'll be able to know the things that you have to do either in trading or betting.

Hey everyone! I'm Charlie a newbie in this community hoping to share some insights and gain more knowledge about crypto. I didn't see a newbie thread so might as well start one?  Wink Let me know if there is a thread already. Anyway, I'm looking forward to know everyone. Have a great day ya'll! Cheesy
Just go to the link provided to you by jrrsparkles. That's where most of the newbies posts their introductory threads. But there's no need for you to do that if you're already here or you can move this thread to that section.

For you to be able to do that, look down at the bottom of this page and on the left side, you'll find the move topic and bingo. That's how you can move this thread to that section.

Take a look at the pinned threads there as well. And keep asking questions to this thread if you have some on your mind.
1286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Two Carreer skill benefit of gambling on: November 22, 2023, 08:42:55 PM
IMHO, it's the same as the actual games that we play nowadays online.

And the same goes with socializing, you make new friends in online casinos and the same goes with online games that we play. We're increasing our network and as they say, network is net worth. LOL.

But critically thinking, how do we make friends online while gambling? Or you mean if you do chat people in the casino chat box? Well probably but I don't think I can rely on the friendship of people on the casino chat for a friendship that is meaningful and moreover you can also get scam one way or the other from their if you meet someone with bad intention. I can only associate with a physical friend offline.
Just look at our forum, we're gamblers and we make friends here. And yes, in the chat box, when we see usual names that we get to gamble everyday. We chat with them.

I don't know about you but socializing doesn't mean that you need to befriends with them.

I'm not thinking about getting scammed there but just typica socializing and having some good chitchat.

IMHO, it's the same as the actual games that we play nowadays online.

There's always the critical thinking where we need to apply that for decisions that we need. But the difference with gambling, of course there is a money that's on the line that you need to take care of.

And the same goes with socializing, you make new friends in online casinos and the same goes with online games that we play. We're increasing our network and as they say, network is net worth. LOL.
Yes, so this means that this isnt really just that talking about gambling games but also in other games as well or things that we are dealing off with. We do know that these
kind of characteristics could really be enhanced out on those various ways on which you could really be able to make yourself something more better if you are really that
sensible or really that mindful about on what you are doing. Enhancing those personal qualities and behaviors could really be achieved if you are really that been exposed
into certain conditions which it isnt really limited only by this kind of scenario but also with other situations in life on which it would really be causing
up that kind of changes or awareness of things which it would really be something beneficial on your part.
Being exposed in different situations will make you learn new things and that's in gambling as well. Aside from the given skills that have been mentioned, there are a lot more for sure.

1288  Economy / Economics / Re: You are the product. Corporations spying on us deeper than we thought? on: November 22, 2023, 06:28:00 PM
Check all of the apps installed to your phone and go to your settings and see what are the permissions your phone allowed to these apps automatically.

You can modify it since it is on your phone so you better explore and read more information about allowing apps on your phones and stuff about the permissions you are granting on them.

The only thing that came to mind is, that we can turn off the audio permissions that we have given to these corporations spying on us on our smartphones, maybe that will work for you but as a student of technology, I can say spying/eavesdropping is easy for them even we disable the audio permissions. All we can do is ignore this fact, or remove all the setting and extra permissions that we have given to these apps even to the google apps.
It might work and also turn off as well the camera permission. But I am not just sure if they will have a way to turn it on again through updates.
1289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as an overachiever on: November 21, 2023, 10:49:14 PM
so that's why I will advice all to key into Bitcoin by accumulating it through the DCA method to build a generational wealth for our families.
And yet there are still those people that don't believe on the potential and the power of what Bitcoin can do to the market.

Whether we have some small breakthroughs or pull backs, Bitcoin remains to be one of the best assets globally. Not to speak about the achievement that we've seen from each individuals that are invested on it.

The matter is that it keeps on breaking records and the stability that it has been has been groundbreaking for the past decade.
1290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not keeping records makes me a bad gambler? on: November 21, 2023, 09:55:30 PM
I know that I already spent a decent amount in my gambling activity from then until now and the idea of keeping records of my losses can't help me to move on. So what's the point? Some gamblers might think that they need to keep playing to recover those losses (if they record it) and it doesn't feel good to have such feeling of guilt or eager to chase it back. Therefore I better record my remarkable winnings rather than the losses because good memories are worth remembering.
That guilt is for real.

When you see the entire amount of how much you've spent in gambling makes you wanna go for more and recover them.

And if it's not working for you and you just feel all of those losses is giving you a heartbreak, much better to just release it and don't keep records.

But if someone has a good reason for keeping it or it satisfies them, that's a good reason for them to keep the records.

While if it's not helping you, leave it.

Get back that nostalgic feels when you play half life.  Cool

Indeed, what a time to be alive. Used to install a bunch of mods just for different storylines.

A timeless masterpiece!
No doubt!

Well, the time's up I guess boys but if you ever want to purchase it since it's been given for free. There could be a blast of many players gonna come to the server and enjoy playing with it.

Just this time, I don't know if the mods are still applicable if it's on Steam. But anyway, those that have missed it for free. Don't worry, it's not even pricey at all.
1292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 21, 2023, 08:04:29 PM
Not that much participants on the poll and it shows that Sixers have got the best start for this season garnering 4 votes. While the rest are just like one, two and four votes only.

Just wanna express how funny that image I saw because I've missed the actual game about Westbrook dunking on Dillon Brooks on his face. LMAO!
Well, the poll was just for fun and it will always be, good thing that OP was still active here updating the thread. Yeah, I think Brooks got the taste of his own medicine on that dunk of Brody.
And as for Brooks, I even see someone posted that he's changed his name as "villain" LOL. I know that it's just for fun and memes but still I find it funny.

Well, I'm glad Clippers are in a good run now but will likely be doubtful considering it's just two consecutive wins, not a run to be proud of as of the moment especially for Clippers fans.
This super team is strong but we can see that it is going to take time for them to have that good coming together.

All of them want to win definitely but it's just that there's always something wrong when all of them are lead scorers.

Their curiosity is going to put them in danger if they are not going to be educated.

This is a problem for how many generations and still, it doesn't stop a lot of teenage pregnancy.

It is good to let them know the dangers of it if done before their marriage. Not just physically, mentally but also financially.
1294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gambling and Invest in gambling. on: November 20, 2023, 11:34:56 PM
Are there really some investment gambling platforms that make this as business for gamblers to make deposit with them and Invest in, i see that many gambling platforms developers do have enough money for their establishment, but i don't know what other means one can use to begin to make money from gambling outside gambling itself, making an investment into gambling can only be afforded by those that have enough financial capacity for an establishement and not a regular gambler.
Yes, it is true that most of the casinos are established and have got money and that is why they dont ask for any investments.

But like bitvest, they have the option for users to invest on their bankroll and not only them that does this.

Bustadice also and many more. So if you have spare money and you dont want to spend it, you can put casino bankroll investing as part of your choices.

So employers see the value in a common degree from an institution that panders to those making violent threats and refuses to apologize for it? That means that they are fucking out of their minds. They are being scammed. They are absolutely idiotic. At least go for a Ph.D. since B.S. degrees are too common to even look at.

If you really valued your degree, you would want colleges to apologize for promoting violence because nothing devalues college degrees like colleges that pander to those who make threats of violence against their professors. Anyone who sees any value in these institutions that promote violence is insane and deplorable. Do you understand me?

-Joseph Van Name Ph.D. (A B.S. is not worth anything at all. A Ph.D. in the sciences is worth a little bit, but the valuable thing is the ability to think and the knowledge which is very rare these days because too many people cannot comprehend anything about anything.)
I dont understand where you are coming fromand with all that hate to colleges but it was a different experience for me during my college and it is my plan to get a PH.D someday and if I still have enough time for it.

While I see the changes nowadays with the type of employment. There are companies willing to hire someone who is skilled even without a college degree as long as you will able to prove that you are the one the are looking for.

Dlyou pay for signals? And how much ?
Nope.

What's your monthly expenses for trading signals? Yearly?
None.

I don't pay but i read alot people pay for signals so how good results If this ?
Better not to pay and never get interested on it.

Those people that are paying for these signals are just telling you to join their signals group for you to have that encouragement as well and be one of their members to pay for a premium membership. Don't be too hasty on joining such because you don't need one. Trade, look at the market and the news and study analysis if you want to be successful in trading.
1298  Other / Off-topic / Re: Skill Before Or After University Education? on: November 20, 2023, 12:46:16 PM
There are students that are truly talented and skilled. They can have honed their skills and they work at the same time using that skill they have to sustain their college tuition fees.

Whether you learn after, during or before your college education. What important is you are building yourself with the skill that you like. Because many are unfortunate that can't even pursue what they love and they need to force themselves to learn new skills even it's not their passion for the sake of money.
-People who go to college are typically completely disinterested in obtaining any skills whatsoever. They just want to obtain a piece of paper that will scam employers or the government and all voters into paying them more. College students are some of the worst people imaginable. They have no respect. They scream in the middle of night and somehow think that is alright. And they are extremely dysfunctional people. And colleges pander to the students who scream in the middle of class and make violent threats against their professors, so I cannot trust college degrees at all. Colleges refuse to apologize for doing wrong. Colleges are completely unwilling to admit that it is wrong to make violent threats against professors.

Everyone who went to college and has a degree less than a Ph.D. is a chlurmck.

-Joseph Van Name Ph.D.
If that's your point of view about college, can't do something about that.

But I've known a lot of great people personally that I've got along with during my college days and we're still in contact even up to this time.

While many of us believes that when we go to college, more opportunities will open because of how employers do see the importance of it. We're in a world that you do you.
