1481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peak get lower and lower, and dips get worse on: December 20, 2018, 05:20:32 PM
Bitcoin can act as a store of value, it doesn't necessarily need to derive all of its worth from use and network effect.  Only a small amount of gold is actually used but the total marketcap it has is in the trillions.  What gives bitcoin value is the limited supply and ability to transfer high amounts of wealth across the world with great ease.

Yeah but people don't see it like that though that's the thing. It should be pretty plain to see that these dips and rises will come and go probably for years until btc reaches a point where it's value is second only to it's practical use.
1482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We have to be aware that bitcoin will not last forever on: December 20, 2018, 05:18:35 PM
Nothing is eternal. And bitcoin is no exception. But there is no Bitcoin and 10 years. Bitcoin will last for quite a long time at least 100 years.
If it lasts for a hundred years, its safe to say it probably lasted forever:lol
I don't believe in the notion that nothing lasts forever, bitcoin is not some ponzi scam or a fancy coin and it's proven that in just ten years.

Probably most alts would disappear sooner or later, but I doubt the bitcoin will follow suit,as long as devs keep working on the technology, and adding additional features, then the bitcoin could last for as long as possible

There's no assurance in this market that's fot sure. Bitcoin may be around in 10 years or more, or it may be replaced by another more valuable coin. Or the society people live in in the future may not have any use for digital assets. I don't think many people expect btc to last forever anyway.
1483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is a victim on: December 20, 2018, 05:05:20 PM
No, BTC is not a victim, whatever is happening right now is either a coincidence or a manipulation. Bcash has no influence over Bitcoin, it makes absolutely zero sense to sell Bitcoin because some altcoin is having civil war. It's probably whales and speculators trying to crash the market to make average joes panic and sell their coins, so these whales can buy back cheaper. This has happened many times - big crash, then rumors and FUD, and then Bitcoin suddenly jumps back when whales buy back.
a few days ago, after BCHABC lost several blocks, we saw that Team of Jihan Roger sold BTC assets again to cover the risk of huge hash rentals.

and that makes BTC fall again, and we must admit this is whale manipulation. and BTC is a victim.

The victims of the greed of the two camps who were at loggerheads with outwitting the crypto world, which ultimately these two camps had no good value in crypto. If these two camps are still good and compact, of course, BCH will have a better and higher value. All of this has been clearly seen and becomes a learning that bitcoin still exists and is valuable.

It's temporary. Though it's hard to think that btc became a victim of it's fork's forks, it's still going to be on top. I agree that it's more on the whales rather than many of btc holders selling over bch forks.
1484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Describe what is bitcoin for a 7 year old kid in few words on: December 20, 2018, 04:55:08 PM
Hi there
What's the most simple way to describe what bitcoin is for people?
Will be cool to read in the comments some new creative ways to do that! Grin
It is hard to explain to a 7 year old kid what is bitcoin, and I think even if how simple you will say it to a kid they will never get interest with it. Imagine how hard to explain it to an adult and still they are not all interested with bitcoin. So, maybe it will still depend on a person how interest they are to bitcoin before they will understand bitcoin fully.

Well i'll describe it as something that they should be interested about when they grow older. Bitcoin is way beyond a 7yr old's capacity to digest and they should be focusing on playing and building a good foundation for eq.
1485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hold on to your hats: We’re moving up yet another Bitcoin flagpole on: December 20, 2018, 04:51:36 PM
Isn't it rather to early for us to start the party as of yet,we definitely are all glad with what the charts are displaying to us.
But I'm somewhat reserved to speculate this could be the end of the bear as it could plummet yet again, who knows
It just goes to show how long people have been expecting to see greens in the boards. It is something to cheer about though. My advise is not to be too overjoyed. It is still a fragile market.

I agree. We've been too long in a bear market and too beaten badly the last month that any positive movement sustained would be reason enough to be excited. The price today was a big disappointment not even a month ago. And we're not even sure how long this can be sustained as well.
1486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not be this type of Bitcoiner on: December 20, 2018, 04:48:41 PM
Haha.

Quote
"Buying Bitcoin is about exiting fiat. It's a bet on the future collapse of fiat money financial system. Bitcoin is the only viable alternative. It's vastly superior as censorship-resistant medium of exchage, store of value, network effect, unit of account than all competitors."

He is taking it to the extreme. Why does Bitcoin need to be a "bet" on the future collapse if the established financial system? Does he want it to collapse? Does he believe that it will not encourage instability, disorder, and chaos? What about the other 99.9% of the population who are not Bitcoiners?

The statement above, the twitter one, is not based on facts and is based solely on emotions. How could Bitcoin collapse the existing financial system? Each country has its own financial capabilities and is unlikely to be uniform and that is why each country has their own currency. Bitcoin is only an alternative, as an enhancer of the diversity of the financial system and its purpose is certainly not to collapse other systems. Meanwhile, from today's view, bitcoin is so volatile and it isn't the best feature as currency which of course requires stability.

Right. It's notnvery viable to not have any alternatives even if were talking about years into the future. We don't even know if another technology like blockchain would rise up soon. People would have then be open to digital alternatives.
1487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [repeat] I AM HODLING on: December 20, 2018, 04:44:35 PM
Good, I think if there are only 1,000 like you, maybe the price won't be this deep. we only need to hold and do not sell to improve the current market conditions do not easily panic because it only makes a loss. just relax looking at the market

Holding doesn't really do much for the general market though. There has to be movement in a healthy market. That means that btc should be used, moving through transactions. Holding is mainly for individual goals.
1488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's 2040, the last bitcoin was just mined... on: December 20, 2018, 04:41:53 PM
...the supply will be pretty limited and that should give the price a huge boost.
I am wondering what will be the price value? Will there be any fiat left by that time? Interesting future.

By 2140 I'm sure paper money will be gone everywhere, all the mines will be on the moon and heating everything by crypto heat which run off 99% efficient solar panels. Seriously though think of the tech gap from now and 120 years ago. It's foolish to even think is today's terms.
For sure, the OP did this post out of excitement. We are just imagining how things will be in 120 years from now! Think back 120 years ago and you will not expect anyone thinking about computers not to talk of the internet, then virtual money.

We're all probably dead by then so there' no wsy for us to really know lol. Though i doubt that it's a futuristic as you guys perceive it to be. If we don't do something about climate change, we may very well be living closer to how we live in the past than in a progressive future.
1489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yes We Believe in BTC even as the Price Falls on: December 20, 2018, 04:35:37 PM
When I first got to know bitcoin, the price was even lower than now. So the current price is still good for me. And that's why I still have high hopes that bitcoin will last longer and of course, hopefully, the price will increase gradually.
Yes, price start increased gradually 3300$>3450$>4100$. You are satisfied that your perception but most of the investor waiting or hodling many months ago. Who peoples invest when price 15,000$ now how they can satisfied in the still price?
I feel much disappointed due to price fall as most of my funds are invested in crypto but i consider this as a no give away amount withdrawing the money even price falls down because it is expcted most of the year end. Hope coming years will have more traffic.

How many fron those who bought at 15k are still holding though? We've seem a lot of panic selling all throughout this bear market and i think many have already chosen to take the loss and be rid of their coins and start over. Majority of those that chooses to still trust btc are those like you and me who have been here quite long enough to have seen the price way below where it is now.
1490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using bitcoin without internet on: December 20, 2018, 04:32:48 PM
Blockstream Satellite Now Means Most Of The World Can Use Bitcoin Without Internet. What's your opinion on this one? Do you see it as progress or not? Huh

It could be really useful for Bitcoin users because we may have a lot of difficulties if we would not have an internet connection and we are using digital currencies with it.
I think it is inaccessible because Bitcoin must have a connection if it is not impossible what my advice is and my words make sense this time and I am 100% correct

Well it's likely that it can be an alternative in the future with  blockchain banking on gps like features. I think it's feasible though the technology needs to be updated a little more i guess.
1491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does Bitcoin seem to always rally in December? on: December 20, 2018, 04:30:38 PM
yes, every year some people choose to sell BTC for Christmas and holiday gifts, they make the BTC market fall.

I think, this becomes an activity every year, and can't be avoided, and at the end of this year, I predict that 60% of crypto users choose to hold their assets.
I do not consider that they sell their bitcoin to fall the market. Can you tell what happen last year, you can clearly see that the price of bitcoin last year in the month of December is very high and it reach $20000 so I think they do not want to fall the bitcoin they want to rise it.

Well end of december is when it started to drop though.  Mid december was the peak but during the holidays, the value was slowly correcting. And while we're still just around the 4k point, i still wouldn't consider this a run. But quite relieved none the less to be distancing from the 3k level.
1492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 232: Jones vs Gustafsson 2 Prediction and Info Thread on: December 19, 2018, 05:46:20 PM
^  I'm rooting for Gus but I just can't see how he wins vs Jones.  Jones is just too good.  Same with Nunes...  Cyborg is just too guy.  Lol.  Grin

Well i'm not sure about that..gustaffson's already proven himself a match for bones and jones has been through a lot of issues outside the octagon. Let's see if he's laser focused. Though agree with cyborg being too guy lol. And what's this? Bj penn's on  card? 😱
1493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gaining or Losing ??? on: December 19, 2018, 05:36:23 PM
I earned much more than I lost. However, due to the decline in the market, my earnings amounted to only 15% of the potential earnings that awaits me in the event of a market recovery. In other words, my profit should have been 85% greater than now.

Well at least you're still at a positive dude be thankful. Most of us aren't as fortunate as you lol. Though you may want to still hold on to that because a difference of 70% in profit is something you really have to consider.
1494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you care about product? on: December 19, 2018, 05:34:35 PM
I have quitted investing in projects that cannot provide any art of a working product, because they are not profitable at all. If you invest in whitepaper be prepared, that you can lose a lot of money because you will never know what is going to happen after the TGE ends.

Lol. If you're looking at a long term investment with a coin, then the product should be very important. For me it can define a project's legitimacy. Though as you said, it'll be very easy from bogus developers to come up with a great white paper that's why the risk is always high even if you make proper research.
1495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cut losses on: December 19, 2018, 05:32:13 PM
Stay calm and wait for the better market conditions. I mean, you cannot do something right now, but I would not recommend to cut the loses, because the market can still recover within several years.

Lol. As if you're always talking to a long term investor dude. It doesn't work for everybody. That's why we have a stop loss function to save us from losing a lot and get in at another, better time.
1496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can we protect ourselves from scam? on: December 19, 2018, 05:24:23 PM
only one thing is needed to avoid scams and not foolish. we need to be careful and to be examined in the project or ico. because if we just go into these things we will be able to work well in every step.

Well, in order to learn this you need to spend a very large amount of time and money. sometimes you even need to lose some money
Perhaps this is the right way to prevent and protect your money from scams. First you need to lose these funds, and then the person at the level of instincts begins to better and more thoroughly research projects and this market. But in General I think to keep 100% not be anyone else. Where there is a lot of money, there will always be a lot of scams.

Let experience teach you lol. At first it will be hard to ignore promises that are too good to be true from so called "developers" And there will be times you'll fall for it. But use reason and logic and you'll definitely minimize the chances of getting victimized.
1497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you worried about the latest crashes or do you stay calm? on: December 19, 2018, 05:22:31 PM
I surpassed that time of being afraid and complaining about crypto prices. You know, when your portfolio is down by 90%, you accept everything,so don't worry, man.
I am glad being here as a part of crypto community and I have no doubts, I will gain money in future, because crypto will grow 10-20 x

Lol. Seems you've become numb to whatever's happening in crypto already dude. But looks like you're also in for the long run so yeah these short term crashes shouldn't be much of a problem when you look back in a year or two.
1498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The market has recovered? on: December 19, 2018, 05:20:39 PM
I hope it will recover soon, now its price is very bad, the value of my assets fell a lot. If this  situation still continues to happen or it does not improve, I think i will be stress ,  when I see my coins value, my feelings is very bad.
I think you should not count on a speedy recovery of the market, we are in for a hard winter in the crypto market. We need to be prepared for this.

Well if you observe the current trend, it has been quite good for the past 3 days lol. Though saying it has recovered is a long shot still. It hasn't. And there's also the possibility of this being a trap. But hey, if you bought last week, you should be in profit already.
1499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: It is right to come back? on: December 19, 2018, 05:18:59 PM
there is a possibility of getting up but obviously gradually, buying a number of cryptocurrency separately is a good thing don't buy just by focusing on one cryptocurrency
I agree with you, that this will definitely gradually return. And to buy a number of cryptocurrency is certainly different and buy altcoins which of course have great potential in the future. Do not let the investment that you do can harm you. But if you buy some tools, maybe it's a good idea.

Well some good coins i bought during the drought are raking some profits right now. If it's a trap then buying now would be a real risk. If you bought when the market was all gloomy, then by now you should be in profit lol.
1500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is this the time for a comeback for crypto? on: December 19, 2018, 05:16:58 PM
Probably we are really close to the crypto market comeback, but for this there is a strong catalyst, such as the introduction of bitcoin futures or something like that, it is possible that really big money will be poured into the market.

It's not all the time that the market will be swayed by a strong news whether it's positive or negative. The market has a mind of it's own lol. Like what's happening recently. Mid november it crashed without any news directly related to btc. And it seems to be making a run now without any positive news as well.
