I think it's due to the amount of people selling off their Bitcoins which they earn from ASIC mining. So they are depositing it into fiat money, to keep it at that value so they are benefiting from it.

Great to see some interest in this project! So, wouldn't it be easier to have a username database, for example: Having the program search for a username which has quoted someone with '+tip <amount>.
Yes it would. Unfortunately there seems to be some kind of protection while using search function at bitcointalk.org. I just got "The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. Please try again later." while trying to do several searches in a row. That means that there are two other ways of building username database left: collecting from linked profiles (limited to registered at bitcointipbot.com only) and parsing the whole bitcointalk.org username list (takes a bunch of time and resources - seems like userbase is close to 100k users) Anyway, after several days of real-life use we'll see common patterns that I think should be taken as default. For those willing to test - register at bitcointipbot.com and link your profile. Tell me if it is described well enough. Corrections are welcomed! Also, please, make some quoted tips as in my example message. I need them to finish parser development. Ah, that's right. I forgot about the cool down they have implemented.

linuxer is trying to sell to me now.... scammer
Implying i didn't seen this thread and your rate was damn good. So what exactly are you doing about this situation? He's crying, i am letting him cry for some time. I don't know what you mean? Are you planning on resolving the problem? yes but not so soon. How long is that going to be though? Why not try to resolve it as early as possible. When you are dealing with others in future will use the search function and find this thread. With you're attitude at the moment they will more than likely not trade with you. Why? because even if you do resolve the problem eventually, you made it very hard for the other party. Obviously, if you do resolve the issue, then that's better than nothing. But, why make such a big deal about it and wait? why not contact the OP, and solve this.

For the sake of the people who are now waiting to receive their ASICS, let's hope the newer generation ASICS Won't be developed very soon.
Yeah I know what you mean there. But, I can see newer hardware being created sooner, rather than later. Bitcoin is limited to 21 million. so we are closing the gasp quicker than before with ASIC. Therefore companies will want to get their product out fast. In order to make the most of their money. Before mining pretty much becomes too difficult.

A system where users can tip other users is being developed at a site which will allow users to tip from this site if they are registered.
But, if you are looking for tips from forum members, put you're Bitcoin address on display and give people some valuable information/advise and they might just be generous enough to tip some to you!

Just my luck, just found out about this website from another thread and it's down.

If you need any help, send me a private message. I'm very interested in this project. I think it's a very good idea.

Could be even better if we could pay anywhere with bitcoins!!
Can be done through a third party. Some sites offer to purchase anything online with BTC.

If you are still thinking of getting one, I believe CGminer is suppose to be a good program. There was a discussion on this the other day in the mining section. You may want to go and look at that. (I know you can't post, but all the answers will be there).

It's funny how Linuxer has 'Troll' under his profile picture. Well, Linuxer needs to do some explaining at least. 'Teaching' someone a lesson doesn't justify it.
I hate kids like you. He did say after full payment... But def is a scammer "I hate kids like you", Isn't really explaining anything.

Reputable members can loan out larger amount loans with lower interest.
Non reputable members will be limited depending on their reputation.
If you are requesting a loan, then you would need to provide collateral. I'm not loaning out anything without it.
Collateral could be anything, even a domain name.
Please send me a private message to work out some sort of deal.
ALL, deals before accepting and sending the Bitcoins & collateral will be publicly posted, where other members will be able to vouch for that member that is lending.

Welcome to the forums! If you need any assistance, just send me a personal message.
Remember to read the sticky threads, they are normally a great read and will keep you up to date within the community.

Would you be able to provide collateral? I would be able to if it was provided.
I would allow up to 2 weeks for payment. If paid back within a week, you would only need to pay back 1.15BTC. The second week would be 1.20BTC.
I would be willing to allow up to a month if you so desire, however the interest rate would be VERY high then.

I would be able to test this for you. It sounds very interesting.
For the should it be quoted, I think so. It would over complicate things if it was no quote = original poster.
So, wouldn't it be easier to have a username database, for example:
Having the program search for a username which has quoted someone with '+tip <amount>.
It would reduce the search results of random people without a account at you're website saying +tip. Because I have seen people say +tip before. (When giving them advise etc) I know this may seem like it's not needed but it's just a suggestion which I think is worth looking into.

Sell it here on the forums? I for one would be interested in a Pi.
Note: Don't take OP shopping with you, he/she will buy everything, lol.

People don't just giveaway bitcoin for EVERYONE. There are some bigger giveaways but not whole-forum big.
That's true. If you would like to receive some extra Bitcoins (not very much) take a look at the list of free Bitcoin earning sites.
