You can check how much profit you would earn online, theres a mining calculator which saves a lot of head work. However I think mining bitcoin with that hardware will be unprofitable, I could be wrong.

I have heard of some bad stories about them, However I would try contacting them again via their support system, instead of reddit.

Let us know what happens.

8847  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Utilizing A Computer Lab To Generate BitCoins - Best Options? on: April 07, 2013, 02:44:42 AM
What hardware have the laptops got? I'm assuming they have pretty good specs. Also do you have permission to do this?

i stopped reading when i read laptops

those are terrible for mining

Some laptops have the same specs as computers, considering they are in a lab they could be top of the range.

If you want to advertise your website/project then what's a better way than getting a active user on the forums to advertise for you? I'm always open to hearing of your new or existing Bitcoin businesses. Shoot me a personal message any time.
8850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 19 hours and still no confirmations on: April 06, 2013, 08:41:01 PM
Since when are fees required? Well not required, but since when is it customary to send. I thought transactions were free under two conditions (size limit and a minimum amount; they're somewhere on the bitcoin.it wiki). You earn $3500 for a single block, why do we need to charge fees now?

And I also wonder how miners set this. Miner clients (or pool software) just has a configurable setting for the minimum fee or so?

A fee is not required, However it is highly recommended if you want your transaction to be dealt with soon. For example, if you ran a business and some people donated and some didn't. Who would you help first? Maybe you would help the person who went first, but Bitcoin has many transactions a day. Putting a small fee increases the likely hood of it getting 'dealt' with sooner rather than later.

Hi there,

I'm going to be looking for game server hosting which accepts BTC. I would like to only have official hosting companies.
I would like to pay monthly depending on the bitcoin value, or I may just pay up front for 1 year etc. If you have a company which offers this services please contact me via private message or comment below telling a little about your company & a link to your website.

8853  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: can I use a work computer? on: April 05, 2013, 01:07:49 PM
Ask your employer first. They may not know what bitcoin is. So I would email them with all details and resources.

If the computer has a decent GPU then I would certainly go ahead and email him, although try to convince him that it would benefit the company and how it would benefit the company. The average employers isn't concerned if it would better your life, but whether it would benefit his company.
8854  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER: Scott Harding, Durham - Bitcoin Sales on Facebook, bitsoctty on: April 04, 2013, 03:43:28 PM
Thanks for posting this. If enough people take this serious, it could prevent future scams. As someone said in the united kingdom cyber laws are very strict. So hopefully people who are going to scam will think twice.

I'm assuming international laws are also strict, However I would not know because I'm based in the united kingdom.

I like the idea of having it on a boat, this has been mentioned before and I still believe to this day that a boat could be a cheap alternative.
