8481  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BlockRun.com - Bitcoin Auctions on: May 21, 2013, 05:33:13 PM
Only 2 blocks left to win a brand new Nexus 4:
http://www.blockrun.com/auctions/lg-google-nexus-4-16gb

So far we have given away BTC6 for a total of BTC0.123  Wink

We need proof. The 'Bitcoin' bids have been a few days now, I want to see transaction proof, and I want the person who received it to say that they received it.
8482  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1,000,000 for a Bitcoin? on: May 20, 2013, 08:48:52 PM
I can't see it happening, all other currencies would have to fail for this to even have a chance I think. Bitcoin would have to be the main source of payment. Who knows? I hope it proves me wrong, I can retire.....lol.
8483  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is BitMillions legit? on: May 20, 2013, 08:38:54 PM
Zaih/ other senior members - can anyone here confirm a payout please ?

Id like to remove it from pending in the v2 list if possible, I wont get a chance to do any play testing for a few more weeks yet.

Well, I've won 0.46 BTC (Proof : https://bitmillions.com/tickets/2f389399353a423251f116f1c863e9832c8edcdd7417968f9814ff84abf89703#)

And after 9 confirmations I still have not received any payment. I was so happy when I won, I really hope it pays out.

EDIT : They stopped posting on all their social media since 30 April, and haven't been online since the 30th of April either. I seriously hope they didn't abandon it..

I haven't heard any news of them just leaving it, this sucks if it's true. If it is true, maybe you should send a email to the owner, considering you did win.
8484  Economy / Gambling / Re: ApopheniaBTC - Bet and solve the challenges to win BTC. on: May 20, 2013, 08:37:11 PM
i should not made a bet so early in the game lol.. it was a good try  Grin

I'm guessing you didn't win? haha. I'm still having my break before I try again. It seems I suck at this game.
8485  Economy / Auctions / Re: 12 Month Netflix Gift Code on: May 20, 2013, 05:10:26 PM
The time will be extended to this weekend. Due to the first bidder allowing another bidder to bid. I will be allowing others a fair chance.

Please send me a private message if you have any questions.
8486  Economy / Goods / Re: Wooden Physical Bitcoins. on: May 20, 2013, 05:04:42 PM
This sounds interesting, I actually thought of this a few months back, but I'm no way near the to the standard of carving them.
I will be keeping a eye on this thread for the first prototype.
8487  Economy / Goods / Re: Possible Airplane for Sale ~1500 BTC = Very Nice Single Engine 4 Seat Bo on: May 20, 2013, 05:02:24 PM

8489  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I really AM a newbie... on: May 20, 2013, 02:21:50 PM
It doesn't take that long, I was out within my first day. However, I'm pretty addicted to Bitcoins, so that kind of helped.
8490  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Buying Ebay Gift Cards (Contact needed) on: May 20, 2013, 02:20:35 PM

8491  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling a few small value Starbucks, Target, and Barnes&Noble gift cards for BTC on: May 20, 2013, 02:16:44 PM
So I'm guessing the value on the starbucks codes are $15, are you selling below $15 or are you selling for face value?
8492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: A payment I got is not confirming? on: May 19, 2013, 08:50:35 PM
Hey there,
for some reason a few hours ago I randomly got sent 0.000004 BTC, I checked the blockchain and this was sent to hundreds of addresses with a total of 0.22BTC, no idea why. However it's been standing unconfirmed in my wallet for hours now, with other transaction confirmign just fine. How does this come?

Yes, I got this too.

I don't think they paid a fee, therefore it will take forever. I'm trying to find out who owns this address and why they have sent this.

Ah, alright. I tried figuring it out too, but I didn't find anything. I wasn't surprised as for the past three weeks every day/ few days someone has been sending me a few satoshis.
I seriously wonder why this is done though, maybe to slow down confirmations or something? I don't know much about this.

Maybe so, I was wondering for a few minutes if I had sold anything months ago and forgot about it. But, then I went through everything and I didn't. I then looked for more information on the address, and I realised that it sent more Bitcoins like this to others.
Maybe, somebody just thought "Hey, I'll be generous today and give these guys a Bitcoins". I guess we can call our self lucky?
It's not much, but it's still something.

8494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how would you gift a bitcoin balance to a non technical person? on: May 19, 2013, 08:16:33 PM
A casascius coin could be nice but it would only beg more questions from the person you are gifting it to, you would still have to explain that they need to use a service to import the privatekey etc.

I think that letting someone make their own blockchain.info account would be more beneficial. It would give them the opportunity to poke around the site without sending coins to anyone by accident.

Then maybe you could get away with handing them a casascius coin, a bitbill, a paper wallet you have printed out yourself or just send it to their new address which would be easily identified to this new user when logging in to the site.

I believe they only come in 1 & up, but you might want to contact users who sell them, or casascius itself.

hmmmm

what base units do casascius coins and bitbills come in?  1? what if I don't want to gift 1, then a paper wallet is the only way?

I don't want to do any handholding on this nor do I want to have them trying to solve a riddle once they figure out there is an exchange rate

"what you have to do is download this program from sourceforge, and then unzip it... you have to find where you saved the file, then open command prompt"

yeah no.

I think I'll just make a blockchain account, sent whatever I want at my discretion and give them the login info.

Your happy to allow him to bid? Then I will extend the time.
8497  Economy / Speculation / Re: $5000+ bitcoin? on: May 19, 2013, 07:16:16 PM
Guys, this doesn't mean stop spending, for Bitcoin to grow we need to show that Bitcoin is a actual currency, and not just a savings account. For Bitcoin to grow, we need to show the media that there is use for Bitcoin, buy whatever you can with Bitcoin.
Otherwise, if we STOP spending, Bitcoin will become useless, lose value. If WE keep purchasing it shows strength.

But. remember, don't spend too much.

I wish you all good luck, in the next few years, I hope to see you all happy you are part of the Bitcoin community.
8498  Other / Meta / Re: Annoying "reputation" threads in off topic.... on: May 19, 2013, 04:04:06 PM
Don't get me wrong, there are users who aren't scammers and only use it to show they have done past trades. But, it's getting out of hand, and a thread saying how good the OP is doesn't mean anything. The OP could of just paid them to say it, maybe they lose out that way. But, think of it, when they actually do scam. It more than makes up for it.

If someone says they are trustworthy and shows you their thread, that DOESN'T MEAN THEY ACTUALLY ARE.
8499  Economy / Economics / Re: Hoarding Vs. Spending on: May 19, 2013, 01:30:25 PM
I have a spending wallet & a savings wallet. I limit myself to how much I want to spend on a monthly basis, if I go over, then I have to go without that amount next month. It's working for me, and I think it's a good idea.

8500  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling Gift Codes less than face VALUE on: May 19, 2013, 10:18:06 AM
Hi there,

I have been selling most of these on bitmit.net, but would like to expand and offer them on the forum.

I can offer physical cards on request, but please send me a private message about that, this is only for digital codes which can be sent via email/private message.

You can check what I have for sale at bitmit.net: https://www.bitmit.net/en/user/Welsh

You can also check my feedback at bitmit.net

I have 0 NEGATIVE feedback, a few neutrals and mostly positives.

I can offer escrow directly at bitmit.net or by a service here on the forums.

After completing a trade, I will ask if you could take the time and post any feedback at this thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=201319.0

How do you get these at less than face value?

I don't.

I buy them and original price. Sell them on, and hopefully Bitcoin will raise in value.
Everyone's a winner if that happens, you get your gift codes for cheap & I benefit in the long run.
