8721  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | 0.00075 BTC/post on: August 04, 2017, 10:28:52 PM
Well this is confusing. Im applying again just in case:

Username : AtheistAKASaneBrain
Post Count : 2070 (including this one)
Bitcoin Address : 1NSjLtsizuiVbDM8SfaReo9K87XZvTiXxk

Why im being ignored? can I at least get some input?
Others are denied. That means that if you applied before this post, and weren't accepted, you are not accepted.
Pretty sure you come under "others", given that Darkstars post was almost 14 hours after you applied. Seems fairly obvious.
8722  Other / MultiBit / Re: Did I get robbed? Please help on: August 04, 2017, 10:20:34 PM
There is now a simpler method... Electrum, as of v2.9.0 supports custom derivation paths. So you can import MultiBitHD seeds directly into Electrum. You just need to click the "Options" button on the seed entry screen and use a derivation path of m/0' when prompted.

8723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help, what's the mean of this? Thank you. on: August 04, 2017, 11:35:58 AM
It was a transaction that was broadcast but, for whatever reason, was never confirmed on the blockchain... there is no record or history of it. You could try and get the raw transaction (use getrawtransaction b5cdb9ddfa95b92fbacc3d4d34e829680f953d8e06871ba6d8d714b941f5bb68 command on the help -> debug window -> console)... and then try rebroadcasting (sendrawtransaction CopyPasteTheHexFromGetRawTransaction)...

Chances are the inputs have already been spent in other transactions... but you never know Wink
8724  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Anyone used Electron Cash Successfully? on: August 04, 2017, 11:28:04 AM
I send out 20% of the balance to bittrex, which is already showing there as incoming, but even there are plenty more coins it now says "Not enough funds"
If you click on "Wallet -> Show Coins", and then click on "Coins" Tab... how many inputs does it show? If you have a large number of inputs, your transaction will be massive and the dynamic fee will also be large. If you try to send all by clicking max.. then click "preview" and see what the transaction size is in bytes.

You can also try switching off the dynamic fees and set a manual fee... I have no idea what the minimum fees are for BCC... I assume not much as it has 8Meg blocks and I haven't seen 8megs worth of transactions yet Wink
8725  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electron cash error sending bcc after importing electrum with 2fa on: August 04, 2017, 09:04:08 AM
2FA will still work with Electrum on the BTC network (TrustedCoin are still signing BTC transactions just fine)... But it is broken in ElectronCash.

When you go to restore your 2FA seed into ElectronCash... you need to disable 2FA when prompted:

8726  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why I Am Not Using Hardware Wallet For Cold Storage on: August 04, 2017, 08:52:06 AM
I would say I have used WinRar for many several years and it never disappoint me, not even once.
I'm sure there were people saying similar things about Mt. Gox... and Bitfinex... and <insert scam/hackedService/buggySoftware here> right before all their coins/$$$/data disappeared.

Quote
And thank you for bringing up that $5 wrench attack because I came across such argument while writing my article.
Here's the thing, can anyone using hardware wallet be safe from the "$5 wrench attack"?
Here's an honest + objective answer... NO.
Actually, they can be safer than you... because the hardware wallet gives them the safety of "plausible deniability". You can create "dummy" wallets with "small amounts" of bitcoin... say 1-10% of your total holdings. If someone threatens you, you give them the password to the dummy wallet... they find your coins and think "Job done"... meanwhile your 90-99% of actual holdings are safely stored in a hidden wallet that they can't possible know or prove exists... rendering a $5 wrench attack nullified for a relatively minor cost.

Whereas, with your method, they'll keep hitting until they get the password (or passwords in the case of multiple encryption) that decrypts it correctly.

Quote
And is it better to use my approach vs hardware wallet? Yes.
See... I was going to let the "Saying no procedure is 100% safe sounds like speculation to me" slide... but now you're just coming off as a little bit arrogant.

"Saying your procedure is 100% safe sounds like arrogance to me"

Quote
Why? Using hardware wallet is a physical dead giveaway that you have bitcoin and/or other cryptocurrencies.
Using digitally-encrypted private keys that I suggested is not, unless you try to brag and boost that you are rich because you have plenty of cryptocurrencies, in which case you are the security risk, not my approach.
No, you just used a very public forum like Steemit to declare to the entire world that you use Crypto... and how you choose to store them. Guessing you trust them more than hardware wallet devs/manufacturers too... so I'm sure your IP address is safe when them. Wink

I'm not declaring that hardware wallets are 100% safe, or the only answer to everyone's crypto storage needs... there are still attack vectors that exist (no solution is 100% secure). What they are is safer than using just a software wallet on a desktop PC/tablet/mobile device... and more convenient than locking everything away on paper wallets in secure storage (or triple encrypted, digitally stored private keys)...

But hey, like I said... Horses for courses... you've got a system that works for you, so that's great. Is it "better" than a hardware wallet? A viable alternative sure, but better? I'd say that is somewhat debatable and likely dependent on the use case(s) of a given person...
8727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is a safe wallet for BCC? on: August 04, 2017, 08:11:07 AM
when i was claiming BCH from electron cash, i use seed from electrum wallet with 2fa. now my electron cash wallet using 2fa also.
is the electron cash wallet 2fa = electrum wallet 2fa?

i already got BCH from electron cash. now, can i use electron cash wallet and electrum wallet with the same laptop?
If you're happy that ElectronCash is safe, then there is no reason why you can't use both applications on the same laptop... they install and use different data directories, so there shouldn't be any conflict.

The critical thing is whether or not your consider ElectronCash to be trustworthy... the jury of public opinion still seems to be undecided about this fact right now. Undecided

Also, 2FA is broken in ElectronCash, and will remain broken for the foreseeable future... Someone claiming to be TrustedCoin Admin has stated that they will not be adding support for BCC. If your coins are in a 2FA wallet, you need to restore using 2FA, but disable 2FA when prompted if you want to "keep or disable".

Also, you'll need to be using the latest version of ElectronCash (now up to v2.9.2) to make MultiSig work... which is what your disabled 2FA wallet will be.
8728  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Anyone used Electron Cash Successfully? on: August 04, 2017, 08:05:06 AM
Anyone tried using electron cash for offline signing transactions yet ?
I have the same problem and still no solution. because of the missing input I cant sign the transaction (error message: 'value')

Seems like the devs know about the issue... and have some patches in place:
https://github.com/fyookball/electrum/commit/8c4f3ad3c943b6a39b21744f89d7652d479f6f05
https://github.com/fyookball/electrum/commit/e8e37beeb46de6bba831a814c08187a921c55473

So you'll need to either wait for the next version to be released (currently now at v2.9.2)... compile it yourself from the latest codebase... or run from sources using latest codebase.
8729  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electron cash error sending bcc after importing electrum with 2fa on: August 04, 2017, 07:55:48 AM
I successfull clear 2fa but not can send my bcc.
Same error. Any solution?
Have you upgraded to the latest v2.9.2 of ElectronCash that is now available for download? It should include the MultiSig Patch... NOTE: you still need to disable 2FA when restoring the wallet... as per the comment by TrustedCoin Admin (or at least, someone claiming to be the TrustedCoin Admin), they will NOT be supporting BCC at the present time.
8730  Other / MultiBit / Re: can some one help me? on: August 04, 2017, 07:43:27 AM
Firstly... No, you don't need to send your BTC to an exchange. There are already BCC associated with the same private keys/addresses that you currently have for BTC.

The suggestion for moving coins is to protect your BTC. The idea being that you move all your BTC to a new wallet with new private keys... then use your OLD keys to import into a BCC wallet. This way, if the BCC wallet is "Bad"™... and sends your private keys out to "BadGuy"™, they can only steal your BCC as your BTC is now controlled by completely different private keys.

The issue with Electron Cash, is that while it is open source... they are distributing binaries that are basically signed by an "anonymous" user... as opposed to Electrum where ThomasV signs them under his actual real name.

So we can all see the Electron Cash source... and the modifications to it... and see that (aside from the porting bugs and the copying of Electrum wallet data by default) it doesn't do anything obviously nefarious... however, we can't see inside the binaries, which may or may not have been built from modified source code... and the "anonymous" digital signature is kinda worthless as there is no one putting their good (and real) name on the line as a sort of 'insurance' that it is all above board.

You can download the source and run from there... but it isn't quite as easy as just download and double click, so not really for your average computer user.

Honestly, I'd probably use BitcoinABC (requires syncing the whole blockchain) or ElectronCash (requires some trust or computer knowledge)... Other than that... I couldn't really say
8731  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Private Key on: August 04, 2017, 07:33:39 AM
Then you don't have the correct private key(s)... When you moved all the BTC from exodus to another wallet... you should be able to see the Public Address(es) that controlled the coins that were used as input(s) to that transaction.

If the private key(s) that you are attempting to import are NOT the key(s) matching the Public Address(es) used in that transaction, then your BCC will not show up.

Also, you might like to check the input addresses here: http://blockdozer.com/insight/ or here: https://blockchair.com/bitcoin-cash/blocks and see if the BCC is still showing as being associated with the addresses.

Finally, what block did your BTC transaction get confirmed in? It needed to be in block 478559 or later.
8732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Seuntjie' Dice bot programmers mode discussion. on: August 04, 2017, 01:56:04 AM
hello, thanks for your help, but the code still needs a bit of work, it enters the pause mode after just 3 attempts at 33.33 instead of 5 attempts, can you please help me to rectify this, so i can resume testing. thanks a lot for your help
Probably because the losscount is only reset on a win if the betting was paused... so loss, loss, loss, win, loss, loss would count as 5... Undecided

you can try taking "losscount = 0" out and putting it before "if paused then"... so that the losscount is reset on ANY win
8733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is a safe wallet for BCC? on: August 03, 2017, 11:45:30 AM
Why do I need to transfer my BTC before loading my private key to my BCC wallet? Im quite sure loading the private keys will not affect my BTC.
It's to protect your BTC in case the BCH wallet you choose is "bad"™

For instance, you just import your current private keys from BTC to BCH wallet... BCH wallet is bad and sends your keys to BadGuy... BadGuy can now steal both your BCH AND your BTC...

If you send BTC to a new wallet... and import your OldKeys to BCH wallet and BCH is bad... BadGuy can only steal your BCH.
8734  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: How to get the private key from Breadwallet w/ the recovery phrase? on: August 03, 2017, 11:37:47 AM
Please tell me you didn't type your recovery phrase into an online website!!?! Shocked

You downloaded it and used it offline right? Anyway, you're better off using this tool: https://iancoleman.github.io/bip39/

DON'T use the online web version... download it (instructions at the bottom of the page) and use it offline!

For Breadwallet, it uses a derivation path of m/0'/0 for receive addresses and m/0'/1 for change addresses... (the same as MultiBit HD)... so you can enter your recovery phrase where it says "BIP39 Mnemonic"... then click "BIP32" under Derivation Path... then set Client to "Custom" and set the BIP32 Derivation Path to m/0'/0...

your addresses/keys will show at the bottom (You may need to click show more if you've used a lot):

Once you're sure you've copied all the receive addresses/keys that have coins... check your change addresses, set the BIP32 Derivation Path to m/0'/1:

8735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Seuntjie' Dice bot programmers mode discussion. on: August 03, 2017, 11:17:44 AM
I don't know how to do the script,I just wanted to remake this script
you can do it right,I can't do it
Given that I have no idea what it is that you're actually attempting to achieve... no, I can't do it.

You've not specified what the script is supposed to do. You've just given us a broken script and said "it doesn't work, please fix it" Undecided
8736  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why I Am Not Using Hardware Wallet For Cold Storage on: August 03, 2017, 09:33:13 AM
Or maybe you can just be clear and point out how my approach of cold storage will be hackable.
Saying no procedure is 100% safe sounds like speculation to me.
So you can say... with 100% certainty... that there are no "bugs, glitches, backdoors, ... etc that either allows them to be hacked or they screws up on their own, or both." in RAR software... with it's closed sources? Huh

And for the record... your method would probably fail the "$5 wrench attack":
8737  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: August 03, 2017, 09:26:39 AM
As informed 13 days ago, due to Aug 1 hardfork, ChipMixer will be closed from July 31 till situation get stable.
ChipMixer is now temporary disabled till hard fork situation get stable.

Any word on when things are going to be operational again? given the Forum headline: "News: ALL CLEAR: You can now use Bitcoin as you were previously." it would seem BTC is good to go. Huh
8738  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Seuntjie' Dice bot programmers mode discussion. on: August 03, 2017, 09:23:41 AM

function dobet()

if chance==chance1 then
     nextbet= previousbet*1.0
end
...
if (chance==chance3 and currentstreak==-40) then
   chance2=chance3
   nextbet = 0.00000004
   nextbet=previousbet*1.1
end
if (chance==chance4 and currentstreak==-60) then
   stop()
...
end
Looks like you're incorrectly setting chance2=chance3 instead of chance=chance3...

Also, at no point do you actually set chance=chance4...

Finally why are you setting the chances AFTER you do the matching if??
Quote
if (chance==chance2 and currentstreak==-20) then
   chance=chance2
   ...
if (chance==chance3 and currentstreak==-40) then
  chance=chance3

Those are never likely to be called as you expect... as chance won't be equal to 2 or 3... as they get set INSIDE that IF statement... which will never be true (well, chance2 might be set after a win streak%3==0... but still... that's just luck... Wink)
8739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Very odd BTC problem, need the experts help! on: August 03, 2017, 05:22:52 AM
You'll probably want to see if this topic can be moved to the Armory sub-board... I'd also suggest reading some of the threads there. It is a fairly common issue that you are experiencing. Usually due to BitcoinCore not being fully sync'd... and/or Armory not connecting to Core and building it's Database correctly.

Try the settings, and select "Let Armory control bitcoind", fill in the paths to Bitcoin and Bitcoin Datadir if you didn't install them to the default locations, and then restart Armory.

If that doesn't help, (delete this thread) and try posting in the Armory board. You will want to provide:

1. The version of Armory you're using... it is recommended to use the latest build by goatpig (https://btcarmory.com/0.96.1-release/)
2. Your armorydebug.log and db.log files (use pastebin.com and post the links)
8740  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Anyone used Electron Cash Successfully? on: August 03, 2017, 05:02:16 AM
Well I've just tried it since no one says anything but when import the keys i got "No inputs found. (Note that inputs need to be confirmed)"

Then the keys you are trying to import do not contain any coins... This might happen if you've already moved the BTC from those keys... and your ElectronCash client is connected to the BTC network and looking at BTC chain instead of the BCH network.

Check your network settings... if the blockchain shows a value of: 478801 or higher, then you are most likely on the BTC network. You need to switch servers... uncheck auto connect and make sure you're connecting to a BCH server like one of these:
electroncash.cascharia.com (SSL: 50002)
electrum-abc.criptolayer.net (SSL: 50012)
180.235.49.196
35.185.209.69
35.197.25.235
bcc.arihanc.com (SSL: 52002)

You might want also want to remove the blockchain_headers file from your ElectronCash datadir so that it resyncs the headers correctly for BCH network.
