Atheists don't hate religion, because down deep they know that atheism is a religion. The thing that atheists hate is when other people, especially of other religious groups, try to force them into changing their religion. I mean, even a drowning man who is panicking will fight off would-be rescuers, because he is in panic mode. Again, depending on what the truth is regarding the existence of God, atheism is a religion if God exists. Does God exist? We don't have nearly enough ability to even honestly suggest that He doesn't. Atheism is a religion that seeks to set man and his intelligence up as god, even though atheists don't realize that this is what is happening.
It doesnt take nearly as much grey matter to realize that there is no single entity capable of creating this universe than it takes to write down a troll book & start a new religion with it. Atheism is not a religion it is the opposition of faith with inquisitive questioning. Atheism doesnt seek to disprove that god exists, for if it did exist atheism would try to figure out why it exists. On average the typical atheist would spend more of his free time finding evidence of 'god' and disproving hoaxes. A typical theist would simply believe whats being told to him. If atheism was about any form of hate, then it would be hatred towards blind faith. |

I do know enough about authoritarian regimes and the climate of fear and propaganda they tend to rely on so that I don't fall for RT bullshit. Well, I guess that's a psychological aspect to this whole debate. A matter of perspective if you will. One can make assumptions and form an opinion about something and anything looking from the outside in, but more often than less the ground reality is a lot different. Example : Give freedom of speech > Extremists form a cult > Extremists become anarchists > Start a domestic war: Real-life case of ISIS, Taliban, Hizbul Mujahideen etc etc While in an authoritarian world with some form of prohibition in right to movement, freedom of speech, right to form communities and right to protest could, at least in theory, provide a thin blanket of a sense of security. Now it's a whole different discussion about what the authority does behind this thin blanket that has been essentially put over the eyes of the people. It becomes a matter of choosing the lesser evil. Of course, I do not subscribe to the notion of authoritarian rule but I think I understand the motives behind the choice of many Russians to live happily with the way things are currently. However, note the part where I said its a matter of perspective, here I am still looking from the outside in and assuming what the people might be thinking. |

Imagine this scenario: You are in a campaign that pays you $50 Then you see this one that pays you $200 And you join here and then after a week of drama you find out that the $200 were never there to begin with. That has been the case with untrusted campaign managers running a campaign with no escrow - almost always. If you are happy with that status quo, then that's on you. You won't get to say later on that the warning signs weren't loud and clear. |
