Amazing pictures. Stamp collecting was a popular hobby but only before the millenials were born. I much doubt this can attract serious attention here. But if a sale comes through, it will be good media for this forum and Bitcoin.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY STAGE GO ON] ICO Estate Coin - House That Mine Coins (profit in BTC)
|

I received PM from OP, but I don't like to click links to be honest! I am happy to answer questions here. Thank you for your interest in my interest:)
Your opinion is important to us! Why haven't You invested in the ICO EstateCoin? 1. I don't see the outlook for the project; 2. I don't trust the Waves platform, on which Estate Coin issued; 3. I don't convenient to use the website and/or Dashboard; 4. I don't trust in the project Estate Coin; 5. I don't like the terms of investment; 6. I registered for the sake of interest, not for further investment.
* There may be several answers.
First main reason is not just a problem of Estate. It is a problem of most ICO. I like full details and working plan. Exact roadmap, who is who and doing what. For example, we have A B C D working for us, and A will do this by X time. B will do this by Y time. Real estate is not easy, it is very tricky. I am very interested. But still need to see more info. And I don't want to ask - I want to wait for the info to come. But keep developing. I am very interested.

I have exactly the same problem. Thanks for the link, but I wonder if this synchronisation issue is being addressed?
Healthy blockchain should be easy to sync without snapshots. Right now, it looks like snapshots of the ledger are the only way to sync this. Without them, the chain keeps going back and forward, gets some blocks, then rewinds back. I though that is just my node, but it seems to be a common issue.
Isn't this a serious issue to address?
P.S. One additional small question: what is the right way to do a backup? Is making a copy of "privkey.der" enough, or other files may be needed too?
I have experienced the same with the last few wallets I tried installing and syncing. The number of blocks climbs and then keeps jumping back down. So I am never in complete sync. Just gets stuck somewhere rewinding over and over.

This is only CPU-mineable for now right? What can I expect to get with an i7?
Is there a chance of solo mining?
I would not recommend solo mining , as there are already a lot of miners, but on slack you can find pool and miner . Depends on your cycles/s how much you get , but you can try 1-2 hours and see if it's profitable for you. Thanks Will the new hardfork change if this is CPU mining? Any solo miner at the moment? Maybe interesting place to start out. Want to test out mining with a home computer for the first time.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you prefer? BTC or ETH?
|
on: July 29, 2017, 08:15:25 AM

People always said that ETH will be the next Bitcoin. Since Bitcoin is having major updates, will ETH will launch into the moon, soon?
People continue to confuse what ETH is. It's not a competitor to Bitcoin. ETH is a currency that represents processing power over the Ethereum blockchain. Ethereum provides access to a blockchain for any sort of project one can think of (which is not possible on Bitcoin's blockchain). Ethereum is bringing the blockchain to businesses, governments, charities, start-ups, and fools who want to start ICOs (with no reason or purpose). ETH will launch, but for a much different reason that Bitcoin. Love'em both! Correct for the fools who want to start ICOs,,, but let us not give too much credit to Ethereum. They look like the attractive option to get "on the blockchain". This is just marketing. People have access to blockchain before Ethereum.

I'm waiting to get a small pool of money from a few friends. We all decided to get about $1,000 dollars. Hopefully by September. Then we will get bitcoin at whatever price it is. And keep it. We will add to it every 3 months. It will be like a savings/investment. We have no wish to trade or invest other than just to grow our balance. Maybe this is an idea for you.

What is this new way of doing VC that Starta tried? They have done nothing new, slightly different but nothing unique than some other ICOs. Even,,, they have the same problems as many ICOs. Slow response, slow distribution, cannot keep to simple deadlines.
The fact that you would say that proves how little you know about this. Should we assume the fact that you're Legendary plus you've responded like this proves how much you know about this? This makes it even more similar to ICOs: typically arrogant response from current supporters to potential newcomers. Crypto has a lot to learn about business adoption.

It's not very smart to quit your job for bitcoin because it can be very volatile and uncertain. I would rather recommend to just invest a percentage of your salary into bitcoin or even get your salary paid out in bitcoin (I know a couple of people who get paid out in bitcoin).
Certainly. Unless you have many sideline or business and a genius in bitcoin then you can quit your job. But I would not do that ever because bitcoin like what you said is volatile and uncertain. I would gladly try what you suggest like getting part of my salary and invest it in bitcoin. I do not know ever that there is a company that will pay you bitcoins. All the Bitcoin geniuses made Bitcoin their job. Look at Bitcoin.com or Bitcoin.org. They quit and made Bitcoin their life. So if you are as genius, then you may do the same. If not, keep your day job.

This is one of the few tokens that has actual working businesses behind it - combine that with the fact that there are only 5 million tokens and those those people who dumped for less than a dollar are going to be very disappointed in the future. I suspect Starta could herald a new way of doing VC and since technically anyone can get involved (unlike regular VC) the potential market for this sort of thing is huge.

Wow, this is a really,,, low offer. Check my first post of this forum, you will see I got paid 0.01 BTC for doing a story. I think it was 500 words? Maybe those days it was only $15. But it was the minimum to consider. You create original writing, you should earn fair. $5 is fair price for automated content, that is, not human writing.

Look at reddcoin it was like 2 sats on polo now its 50 sats since delisting. BCN will be better off
Polo probably scared by the margin possibilities, I believe you can magin BCN on polo right? if price explodes then millionaires galore
is bcn usable and mineable right now?
This is the one major risk that Polo doesn't like. Yes, you can do margin trading. Like you say, if the price suddenly explodes, they will have a flash crash or flash boom. GDAX happened this way even with ETH. I think others want to avoid that.

I have thought of a strategy. But I will not try it. It is almost like playing Dice at 1% chance, hoping you hit with 100 rolls. We all know that won't happen,,,
But 100 alts with 1 satoshi price or less. If 1 hits 100 satoshi price,,, you cover loss. If 2 hits 100 satoshi,,, you make double.
What do you think?

Don't know why delisting on Poloniex is the end of the world. So many coins delisted from there are surviving well. The more centralisation like polo, the more people get lost about how decentralised currency work. I am hoping more people will join the byteball project. Is there any real world use cases being developed on the byteball platform?
Wrong project. This is not byteball. This is Bytecoin.

Sorry to say that, but with every day and comment of support (that bring nothing) i'm almost sure that this is just fake project.
Is here anyone from Russia that can confirm physicall existence of people and companies behind this project?
Oops, did some people forget to ask this before the ICO? Even if the existence can be confirmed, who can say whether the project is fake or not? Some fake projects are running today after more than two years, with prices boosted and fake developments.
