-salvagewallet includes full rescan. Are you sure rescan has been finished? "Transaction creation failed" usually means you either try to spend immature coins or fee is too low. Second option would explain 0-confirmations state of your previous attempt.

Great to see some action happening here!  I like the new website, its very retro. And just so you know, I took down the old 8bitcoin.org site and redirected the address to 8-bit.party.  You may also want to consider changing the logo.  Everyone knows this is a ripped logo and we should promote creativity.  I put this together a while ago. Maybe we should have a community logo contest.
