OK, so here is summary of voting proposals:

Code:
"MN_COST": (888.00, 888.00, 888.00, 888.00, 1000.00, 888.00, 1024.00, 888.000, 888.000, 888.00, 888.00, 888.00, 888.00, 512.00),
"BLK_VAL": (  1.00,   1.20,   1.00,   0.80,    1.00,   1.00,    1.00,   1.208,   0.888,   1.00,   1.00,   1.00,   1.00,   1.20),
"MN_RWRD": (  0.80,   0.88,   0.80,   0.60,    0.10,   0.88,    0.80,   0.888,   0.484,   0.80,   0.80,   0.80,   0.80,   0.88),

And here are the results:
Code:
        #        VALUE        COUNT
MN_RWRD
        1.      0.800 7
        2.      0.880 3
        3.      0.100 1
        4.      0.888 1
        5.      0.484 1
BLK_VAL
        1.      1.000 8
        2.      1.200 3
        3.      1.208 1
        4.      0.800 1
        5.      0.888 1
MN_COST
        1.    888.000 11
        2.   1000.000 1
        3.   1024.000 1
        4.    512.000 1

Please check whether everything is fine.

I have played with polls on BCT and... it's impossible to run more than one poll on thread. Cpt Obvious...

I suggest making a poll by posting (in proposals thread) using following form:

Code:
option number for MN REWARD
option number for BLOCK VALUE
option number for MN COST

example

Code:
4
1
2

What means:
Code:
MN_RWRD   4.      0.600
BLK_VAL   1.      1.000
MN_COST   2.   1024.000

Shall we proceed this way? Is it clear enough?

For those who think, no extra voting is required as we have so nice groupped suggestions. That would be true, but I did not expect that people proposals will be so coherent. Also it has been told that voting will have two stages so lets continue with the plan.

The block explorer was run by the dev that left. So seems obvious that he wont be having the block explorer up for so long.
We may need a new one

It would be great to have it here https://chainz.cryptoid.info/

Then write your suggestion there: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=571254.240
Also we have explorer again so second one would be very nice but it's no longer must-have-now thing.

How many connections are you guys getting in your wallet?
Depends, 6 - 15. I see that that there are sometimes problems with hardcoded IRC server(s) address... they don't like rapid reconnects. I think I will setup some dyndns entries with online nodes.

STEP 2

level 5 4

RESTORE OR CREATE MISSING INFRASTRUCTURE

Faucets are still very popular among crypto community. Who of us never tried a single one? However, captcha box plus dozens of ads is not something worth attention. Our (quasi official) faucets should bring something new and be related with 8-bit spirit. So I found out that best thing will be faucet paying for gathered points in 8-bit based game.

Tetris? Arkanoid? Pong? Rapid, addicting action.

This is very basic, very early preliminary to THE BIG THING. INSERT COIN, remember? Let's back to faucets.

So, I see this as faucet with free, nice html5 game
http://www.twitchtetris.com/
http://pong-canvas.googlecode.com/files/pong_canvas.html
... and dozens of others
WARNING! VERY ADDICTIVE FOR OLDSHOOL PLAYERS

When player collects required amount of points (s)he gets a form with captcha and her or his 8BIT address, nothing fancy. No ads, just 8BIT everywhere. I pay for server, domain, maintenance, community fills faucet. I offer 150 8BIT as my initial faucet fill.

Who will write code? Yes, I can do that. But like it was already agreed I am here not take over this coin, I am here to support community takeover as much as can (honestly, immodestly, I can do a lot). So I would be happy to see someone saying now OK I WILL DO IT. Or at least, OK I will help with GFX, I will help create a layout. We are not in hurry with it, so just consider it and let me now. If noone volunteer, it will be not the end of the world - I will do it. But wont it be cool to claim - hey I did something cool here? Think about it.

I love the idea but too busy to take over this task. I will pledge another 150 8bits to the faucet or developer.

PS: I proposed 0,1 reward for MN but do not see such an option.

If there's a developer who will accept 8BITs I will pay him too. BTC should be spend on 8BIT/BTC market.

You said:
Quote
MN COST: 1000.00
BLOCK VALUE: 1.00
MN REWARD: 0.10
Then you said:

Quote
MN COST: 1024.00
BLOCK VALUE: 1.00
MN REWARD: 0.80
I like this numbers!
According to rules I assumed you change your proposal to this one. Shall we revert to your first proposal? It's not a problem yet.

I don't think the proposed voting mechanism can work (if I understood it correct). Are we going to vote on three different numbers separately? Those numbers are not independent. How would you choose the winning combination?

For example:
lets say 2 persons told: (1, 2, 2)

5 persons told (3, 3, 3)

4 persons told (2, 1, 2)

What will be the voting result..?
I guess it will be (3, 3, 2). But that is a combination nobody has actually voted for, and it might even not make any sense! Smiley

I suppose there should be a single regular poll with "packs" of (x,y,z). But even that way the result will be wrong (as suggestions with similar values will divide the number of voters, and make the voting result unpredictable). Sorry my English does not allow to explain this better  Undecided
Best of all - based on collected suggestions form a single poll consisting of 4-5 drastically different suggestions.

I guess if we start another 3 threads with voting we would be called spammers. This is not what we really need.

No packs. Each vote will be independent. It's simplification but it's not harmful. Same way proposals were taken.

I could also pick 3 most popular combinations but it's impossible, there 2 most common and others were a single occurency.

Dev can you ask cryptsy to fix the coin?
I am not dev (yet maybe never - I want community takeover). Also no control over cryptsy, no control over official repo. All I can do is like all of you fill a ticket and ask for a fix. I also asked them on twitter for it. mastertrader said he can contact them. Finally wallet is perfectly fine, problem is with cryptsy, so even official dev can't help other way than just asking.

After yet another consideration, mangling pros and cons I decided to back to classic poll voting and picking your proposals as-is. Therefore we have:
Code:
MASTERNODE COST     BLOCK VALUE    MASTERNODE REWARD   COUNT
        888.000           1.000                0.800       6
        888.000           1.200                0.880       2
        888.000           0.800                0.600       1
       1024.000           1.000                0.800       1
        512.000           1.200                0.880       1
        888.000           1.208                0.888       1
       1000.000           1.000                0.100       1
        888.000           0.888                0.484       1
Each line represents voting option.

Voting will start within one hour. Poll will be closed on Saturday (Jul 11) Sunday (Jul 12) @ 6 PM UTC. Each user has one vote, decision can be changed while poll is open. Enjoy and vote!

Well i cant really understand what is happening right now, as i thought mastertrader was taking over, but this wasnt something certain as i see.
Im a bit missed, but i will sit and watch. By the way, if you are the old dev just gtfo, if thats the case.
If not, i will give you the benefit of the doubt as said before

these last pages are really confusing

Reading this thread for last two months was confusing. Just talking (without conclusion), no progress. So I made progress, we grow in all aspects. Anyway, I repeat:
1) I am not taking over this coin alone. Community takeover is the right choice in my humble opinion
2) Anyone can still take over this coin. It can be mastertrader, Satoshi N., Gavin A. or Mark K., well known community member or random anon. I have not done anything giving me full control over this coin or community. I have not said with me or I quit. Nothing is locked. I feel happy with putting this coin on the right track. That's all.

All those things were explained here so many time that it's probably last time I comment them as it wastes my precious time. No hard feelings, it's just clarification. Now vote.

I am open to ideas. How to let newbies vote. I can open that thread and let newbies put their vote there. What about restriction that only accounts who spoke in main thread before can vote this way? Let me know what's your opinion.

Oops. The thread is locked. I think you can unlock it.
