Attention to all exchanges/payment processors using Bitcoinplus [XBC]

We have configured our checkpoint depth setting to 5 on our main server/node(s).With a checkpoint depth of 5 then no more than that can be replaced by an attacker,if the exchange sets 6 confirms than they are completely safe from attack as that many blocks cannot be replaced.

For the checkpoint depth setting you wont need to do anything as its broadcast to all wallets from our node. The confirmations you need for deposits are outside of the XBC network so you will need to set that manually on your own systems.

We already have auto security checkpoint updating installed by our developers.

This is good news. Many coins are getting attacked by the looks of it and have done nothing to prevent these types of issues. They seem to be more concerned with cosmetic window dressing than underlying code fixes and upgrades.Exchanges should take note of this and list XBC for its efforts!

We regularly contact exchanges like coincheck,bittrex,BTC38,HitBTC,BTER etc to ask for a listing but would encourage community members to get on their IRC,social media, support etc to let them know why you would like to see us traded on their exchange.

The beast awakens over the next couple days. New ATH incoming
Noticed it too, from 0.04715652 BTC to 0.056 BTC in just 10 minutes. I love this coin, whenever it drops to 0.049 BTC it will go up and stay at a level for a few hours or days. Considering that this coins volume today is just 250 compared to other coins with higher volume.

It is winter where I am Smiley - Southern Hemisphere, it's all back to front. Whilst I wouldn't say it get's that cold here I try turning my computer off for a night and regretted it the next morning. I think a GTX980 and Quadro M4000 seem to do a pretty good job of keeping things warm.

I don't mine with them, though maybe I should Smiley

Given the possible fork of BTC I'm thinking of moving some funds to a more stable coin, being XBC, good idea? I don't want to put all eggs in one basket but I think come Aug 1st having them in the other basket (BTC) might be risky

Opinions?

TBH I dont know myself but we are getting some serious work done to our code base right now.We only have one major exchange where the majority of our trading takes place and other major exchanges dont seem to be jumping on board yet.All our secondary exchanges have far less volume/liquidity probably due to most of the trading community keeping their coins on poloniex. We are hoping to see poloniex resolve all their issues as soon as possible so we can all plan ahead further.

If I had a lot of bitcoin I would probably convert some of it to fiat or USDT and sit it out or maybe look at litecoin, peercoin, namecoin etc that have been around for a long while.Namecoin is merge mined with bitcoin so I dont know what effect a hard fork would have on its price.I have about 1.7 BTC to my name so I probably will just hold it.

In a worst case scenario, BIP 148 could cause Bitcoin to chain split into two or maybe even 3 separate blockchains, one with SegWit activated and one without.A lot of the negative press towards segregated witness seems to be coming from those with most to gain including this nchain outfit that people are talking about right now and it seems with them the chain splitting is a foregone conclusion.

Whatever decision you make I hope it works out for you and its a profitable one.

I'm a bit busy for the next week or two but if I can help out I'm ready and willing.

Skills are:

PHP
Laravel
Jquery
Any type of Design Photoshop / Illustrator etc (got a few worldwide products I've done in this area)
Music and production - Again got a few big brands - Max Factor being the latest.

So if I can help - I can certainly offer some time Smiley

Excellent,I am getting a few tutorial videos made up for the website which are almost ready but we are also looking at getting a publicity video made with maybe a good soundtrack or something to that effect.

Got a price bot made up for twitter there recently you probably could have done but maybe we could get some nice background on the OP here.It was just cleaned a few weeks ago but maybe some modern background would look good.

We are looking at ability to change skins/background on the wallet so maybe we will need a few good designs for it.

I will see what we need and get back to you.

Yes Peter Bushnell is working with us https://www.bitcoinplus.org/blog-category/xbc-news
https://www.bitcoinplus.org/blog/bitcoinplus-hires-additional-developer but Peter Todd is not.Not sure where you came up with the latter name but there was never any mention of that by us anywhere.

My Bitcoin Plus wallet moves coins from staking to spendable and back again on its own.  I want all my coins to be staking, all the time.  How do I do this?

Thanks in advance!

Additionally, black text on a dark green background makes no sense.

Hey, a minute after posting this 12.43000 coins were back in staking.  Again, without me doing anything.
