622 is a great score but they could have finished it off at 550 but Pujara and Rahane again played well in today's match. They took the score from 133 to to 350. Disappointed with Kohli though. Ashwin already took 2 wickets and great to see him back in form with his bowling and batting as well. Surprised to see that the bowlers are performing consistently compared to the batsmen. Hope they finish off the 1st innings by tomorrow.

If in first session India is able to take 2-3 quick wickets then India will be on top of this test match. India needs to quickly takes wicket so that it will add more pressure on the coming batsman they they have to chase 600= which is very difficult for any team .

Srilanka created a spinning wicket against a team who had world class spinners and that is the only thing Srilanka could do to counter the Indian batsmen but when they failed to tackle the Indian batsmen the Indian spinners will play a major role in this match as they could roll out the Srilankan players with the pitch they made.I expect India to win the match without much hurdle.

Sri Lanka now trailing by 543 runs with 6 wickets remaining in the 1st innings. SL batting performance is really very bad even though they are playing on home ground. They should concentrate on building good partnerships which will increase their confidence level. But by looking at their current SL performance, it will be an easy win for the Indian team in this test match as well.

I think England can add another 100 runs to the total then it will be good decent total to defend. SA should need to pick up those remaining wicket as early as possible to put pressure on England team.

I think it's a wonderful score against any team in a test match on the first day. If Indian batsmans could have played a little faster then they could have reached 400. The match will get interesting if Sri Lankan bowlers can all out India before lunch tomorrow.

Little faster? Are you kidding me? I think you haven't checked the net run rate of the match India are already scoring above net run rate of 4 which is outstanding when it comes to an test match or you want them to play T20 in test match?

I guess India is going to win by huge margin and by an innings too as Sri Lanka is struggling too much against Indian spinners. I guess at least this time India will enforce follow on. So, that they can win big unlike first test match of this series.

SL are all out now with a huge deficit of 439 runs. We will have to wait and see if India gives them follow on or will bat in their second innings. This is a huge lead for India in fact now almost SL have lost this test match unless some body makes double century from their team.

after the retirement of Sangakkara and Mahela Sri Lanka never been performed as their standard consistently. they really are missing the dues service in the test format.basically, Sri Lanka now facing the shortage of consistent player. on the other hand, India has plenty of players who are really capable to lead the team at any moment. that is the main reason of the differences of this test match.

It was an easy decision to make for Kohli to impose the follow on. If the lead was in the range of 200-300 runs, then it is a careful decision for the captain to make. When you have a 439 run lead, impose the follow on and wrap up the match quickly.

It was an easy decision to make for Kohli to impose the follow on. If the lead was in the range of 200-300 runs, then it is a careful decision for the captain to make. When you have a 439 run lead, impose the follow on and wrap up the match quickly.

Decisions are never that easy to make and being the captain, it puts more pressure on you to make the right call. In this case, Sri Lanka's batting performance has been lack luster and given that the pitch is going to remain the same for the remaining part of the next few days, SL can post a huge total in the follow on innings. Given that what I'm saying actually happens, it's going be really hard to chase anything beyond 200-250 in the 4th innings because we all know how lethal 4th innings chases can be.

Creditable performance by Sri Lanka in the second innings, although I think they will still lose. If India cannot win with a lead of 450+, then they cannot win at all. Once Kusal Mendis' wicket falls, Sri Lankan wickets might fall in a heap.

SL has performed a lot better in the second innings,might be the pitch is not helping the bowlers now and if that is the case even if they score 400 more runs ,they will find it difficult to take the Indian wickets as they have a pretty good batting line up and with a pitch that does not offer anything will be a paradise of these batsmen.
