2016, The Year of Bitcoin?

as i know that this is just prediction, iam not sure if 216 is the year of the bitcoin, everybody always said that next year is the year of bitcoin, i think it needs 5 years or maybe 6 years  bitcoin to break through especially in mainstream addoption, all we have to do just keep using bitcoin and spread them to evryone you meet, i wish bitcoin's going to the moon as soon as possible

we can only hope it happen in the next year, I believe this technology will arrive back in its heyday 

but I wish it could happen more quickly at the end of 2015, yeah as in previous years. hopefully this is true optimistic

If you haven't got patience I think you're going to be dissapointed. The internet didn't become what it is today overnight. It takes years and bitcoin might even take longer to break into the mainstream.

yes I know it all takes a long process, but if you know when bitcoin reached $1000 it was fast enough.

I heard thay in he 2014 too they said that 2015 will be the year of bitcoin and many users also predicted that biycpin will rise upto 500usd in this year but it did the opposite

yeah, it feels like every year we are hearing the same news over and over. the only thing that changes is the price prediction which is always a couple of hundred dollars above the current price for the next year.
funny thing is you sometimes encounter those news like on CoinDesk if you are searching for something about the price on google.

but this is the first time that I kind of agree with all those news and think that next year we are finally going to see some higher prices for a change.

People are optimistic but are biased by their own financial wants. I can't see bitcoin going to the moon any time soon as its been pretty slow for news and adoption over the past year but lets give it a few years before we make any more predictions about when The Year of Bitcoin is going to be.

The bear market has lasted long enough. I predict 2016 is the year where bitcoin finally breaks through, both in price and in mainstream adoption.

The fork issue is a distraction. It won't kill bitcoin. The majority will eventually choose what fork they want to use, whether it is the original, or XT, or some third option.

I see the fork issue as silly infighting which only hurts bitcoin. I want bitcoin to succeed, that's what I care about, not what version of BTC I use. I will go with the majority, whichever fork is chosen.

In the july of 2016 the block reward will be deducted by 50% (from 25BTC to 12.5BTC)

I do not agree the long way for top. Already 2013 was the year of bitcoin. Now everybody is looking for the year 2016. One vital reason for that is 2nd halving is scheduled on 2016. When wide acceptation of bitcoin is on the way, bitcoin price will fly to moon. I expect price of one bitcoin would be 10k USD by 2016 end.

I've met a lot of random people both online and offline that know a bout Bitcoin now. Many are still skeptical about investing in it still. I am optimistic that the price will go up again but not to the moon.

Agreed with you, even I think that the prices of the bitcoins will be increased but it will take lot of time. its not 2016 but will get some more years to reach the new high.

Right now, Bitcoin is very unstable so it would probably take another 4-5 years to really see an impact on it. Maybe the next year would be better, but nobody knows if it will be because crypto is unpredictable. Only time will tell if Bitcoin's price would reach $1000 and mainstream adoption

So, Only after a very big price like one million dollar per one bitcoin, after holding that price for many years bitcoin may go for main stream adoption. Till that bitcoin would be a investment.

I suspect that you were not around when the bitcoin price hit $1000? There were loads of people selling at that threshold, since most people saw that as the turning point. There

were a few guys hyping for the Moon, but most people anticipated a drop after the $1000 price was reached. It was a crazy time and nobody knew about the Willybot at the time.

I also think, we will see a price increase in 2016 after the halving, but it will not go to $1000 just based on that...

What you are saying is correct but I think that in the year 2016 the prices would atleast go bit higher as compared to 2015 mainly depends on the adoption level and the demand of bitcoins, if the adoption level is higher prices would be higher and much more stable, and that is time we all are waiting for, the day bitcoins hits the mainstream the prices would be more stable.

I'm very optimistic about 2016 although I predict the high of 2016 to be Q3-Q4. The halving will play a big part in a price increase. Now if only we could come to some sort of conclusion on block sizes.......

If you want to know what may happen you should study previous halving in 2012, it will give you idea about the situation.
On first glance price of BTC should rise. But Bitcoin volatility is not something you could explain by logic, so I am not so sure anymore.

If you want to know what may happen you should study previous halving in 2012, it will give you idea about the situation.

I am not as optomistic about Bitcoin this year. Last year everyone was saying the price of Bitcoin was going to really take off. Nowthis time around I am not as optomistic. Last year at this time the price was over $400 now it is almost half that. I don't think the price will rise again until the blocksize debate is resolved and mining halves. Until then we're in limbo.

Let's hope 2016 can turn out to be the Bitcoin year... However I do believe that 2016 will most probably the Blockchain year rather than the Bitcoin year!
