2016, The Year of Bitcoin?

2015 is the year of turning point for bitcoin price comes out of bear market. 2016 is the year for bitcoin to be reported more in main stream media and used more as a currency.

I agree on the turn around year being 2015 - but I believe too 2016 more volatility in the price as the halving is happening pretty soon and people will speculate.

The outlook already seems to be positive.
We have had 2 disaster years - 2014 and 2015 (most of it).
The current price run up seems to be in anticipation of the drop in supply post block reward halving.

i always hope that every years is the year of bitcoin,since 2014 i know bitcoin,for 2 years i know bitcoin have more user and corpaorate,i mean many corporate and people using bitcoin.lets hope that next years is the year of bitcoin,bitcoin price going up and much more people and corporate use bitcoin,and  i really hope bitcoin or crypto currency will get into college,i think it was a good future and good lesson

define mainstream?  Are you talking about regularly used by the majority of people using Bitcoin?  I doubt that will be happening next year.  I think we got another 10 years left for that or so.

You are the second person today on separate threads to say it will take a decade for bitcoin to be recognized by all and it's use will be adopted by all.
I am thinking that's what he meant by "mainstream" in the first place.
I prefer to use the term globally accepted myself

The bear market has lasted long enough. I predict 2016 is the year where bitcoin finally breaks through, both in price and in mainstream adoption.

It's really hard to predict these things.  Don't worry too much about it as it will take care of itself.  But what one should do is be ready when that time comes.

2016 would be definitely year of the bitcoins as we have already started to see the change, whether it is price or adoption level or acceptance level of the people, bitcoins is getting more and more popular day by day and it would be continuing in the coming years too, and surely its gonna give us good returns in the coming years.

I'm not sure about hitting $1000, I'd say we can expect an average price of $500~700.

It will be interesting to see how much effect halving will have on the price because with LTC it didn't make much difference

The reason beginning believing in 2016 must be halving. So many people are expecting more than previous level peak in 2016. I do strongly believe bitcoin may go to new highs in 2016.
LTC just got doubled in value at that time due to its halving this year.

Lets just be patient until Bitcoin's time comes in 2016. Right now, price has increased a little bit (although it has gone lower today) so I think it would be a good sign for when the next halving comes. It is a bright future out there for Bitcoin in the next years.
