2 or 3 btc(1,300 or 1950 USD) seems reasonable since the value of btc seems like it will keep rising; only issue is with the value rising so much one cant help but feel paranoia that its going to get so big that the number of people using it is just going to tank which ripples into the value dropping.
If you're able to survive without that 2k being fluid then this is a good investment, but definitely just expect this investment to magically grow. Watch the value and flow of the btc.

How safe is it?

I will say it is 100% safe as I have my bitcoins from about more than 6 months and I have not saw any risk, but I am seeing that the price of bitcoin is increasing each day and Thanks God in these last 6 months I got a double amount of what invested in bitcoin.

For me, it is going to be better if you are going invest in bitcoin and at the same time you are going to save. And I think 1 bitcoin is good enough for a long term investment that you are planning.
And the only long term investment on it by just holding it.
