I'm already anticipating an unhappy and under performing Westbrook in Laker's uniform next season. This is a goodbye to triple doubles. You already know what's going to happen when two ball dominant players are on the same team. I would like to be proven wrong and see RW become like D.Wade who gave the lead to LBJ when they were both in Miami.

I don't think so. Westbrook probably will be scoring fewer points per game, but he will still be able to make triple-doubles as usual. Also, it's worth noting that the Lakers have enough time before the start of next season to improve their team chemistry. So I guess Lebron and Russell will find mutual understanding on the court.

He fully fit Westbrook would duly perform at the best level if you ask me, he'll surely bring a new dynamic to the Lakers teams but I still feel the price they had to pay was a bit too much, especially having Kuzma in that lists of players heading in the opposite direction.

In Westbrook you'd have an around player, he contributes to every part of the the game on the court, that would sure as hell lift some pressure off Bron and Davis... I'm keen to see what effects this would have on the outright odds of what team would win the NBA.

Maybe you don't see the Bradly Beal - Russell Westbrook tandem in Washington Wizards. Beal is still the main scorer but Westbrook can still make triple-double but during his tenure there, you will see lots of production by him in assist.

LBJ is not the same LBJ as before. Westbrook knows that so instead of putting a load on LBJ alone he will obviously help with the scoring. He can also act as a point guard and that's what LBJ needs as the Lakers don't have a reliable point guard other than James. The trade happened early. Lots of training sessions between Westbrook and the Lakers before the next season.

Westbrook won't have a problem forming chemistry with LBJ and AD but rather maybe on Dennis Schroder. As you know... just my guess.

I always thought that it would be wiser to get shooters around Lebron, it is basically today's games meta and everyone is a shooter, even shooters get a better draf pick instead of just big guys like we used to see. However westbrook is not a bad player, so I can't say much, would the strategy fit? Absolutely not, 3 players who mainly play inside is not a good idea at all and westbrook is one of the worst volume shooters in the whole world, he is not a good shooter and he still keeps on shooting for some reason, so having him with Lebron and AD is a strategy suicide.

However at the end of the day as a talent level? Dude is the best they could have hoped for, they needed to get like Dame or something if they wanted a better shooter AND better overall talent which they would fail so I honestly think that for talent level wise they acquired the best player they could.

What a huge trade for Los angeles Lakers. Westbrook join the lakers probobly one of the biggest NBA news currently this summer. They traded so much players that were long time here and an nba draft pick as well. With Brooklyn next season they will be the hardest team to beat. Probobly Nets and Lakers fighting for the title as it seems now

It's going to be a really interesting season I believe. Because Lakers have signed Westbrook. And we have a Lebron - Westbrook - Davis trio now. If they don't have any problems with playing together, then Lakers will definitely become one of the favorites for the title. And if Nets don't struggle with important injuries again, I think they are the other favorite for the title as they have a wonderful trio like Durant - Irving - Harden.

The 3 Lakers stars also met at Lebron's home to discuss about their egos being set aside. I hope they can do that. WB and LBJ had some bad history throwing words with each other on interviews and even off camera. I think they will need to work out that history first to play better this season.

Yeah, I would also love to see Melo and Bron on the same team, man Lakers is really on the hunt here after a dismal performance last season. I think he has pitch the Melo trade with the Lakers trade many times after no one picks Melo like 2 years ago. Not sure about Wade though, he has a happy married life, you know.  . WB is a native of LA so it make sense for him to go to the Lakers.

Lebron has got some influence on this trade and this is some sort of his last dance before retiring for good. He can't win championships anymore if he relies on the picks. With WB on board, I think he will take over the handling chores most of the time.

And I think he knows he needs more speed from his teammates so they could still make some transition plays like how he was used to doing.
Despite being 32 of WB he can still do a full drive using his agility and he can still play 30-40 minutes.
This may be the time for a higher chance to get a ring.
I see expectations are building in Twitter. Lebron fans and Lakers fans are ecstatic about the combination.

Now they are looking to make another horrible mistake by taking either of these 2 players who are obviously way past their prime already.

LeBron has always been like that. Remember when he assembled a veteran superstar team with Wade and Rose. LeBron had enough influence to the management that he's able to pick which player he wants in a team. He as well attract superstars who's also chasing to win a ring.

I'm also skeptical about Westbrook in the team. But I still believe LeBron would find a way how to maximize his talent and be a good fit with the Lakers system.

I think what's going to happen is LBJ will run the floor 90% of the time and RW will be forced to play a lesser role. He won't have the freedom he had when he was the star at OKC and Washington.

The time is not enough to build team chemistry. It could be enough for a 2-on-2 match but not on a whole team.

How could you confidently say the Beal - Westbrook strategy will be used by the Laker's coach? Different team. Different teammates. Different roles.

Yeah, the question is what is a bench mark for a PG? isn't it the assists category? and we all know that he broke the great Oscar Robertson record, so I also consider him as a real PG. As far as chemistry goes, I don't think he has the James Harden attitude, he has work recently with Beal and it seems that they click. And maybe with James and Davis around, he could still play high level basketball and can continue his triple double game every night with the Lakers.

Agree, PG is the one who handles the ball and it can be measure by his stats especially the assist department.
If we look at his last season average with the Washington Wizards, he is still very consistent.

Definitely, Lebron has some influence here, and he loves to work with Russ for a long time and finally he was able to get him on-board and let go of one of his favourite, Kyle Kuzma. I think these guys have matured already, there could be no egos anymore but to set only one goal, to win that championship next year and then they can celebrate and talk another run with them together as a team. Durant did it when he left OKC and move to GSW to chase a ring. I think Westbrook can also do it with Lebron.
