Cleveland has always become a bad team everytime Lebron left the team, they were not able to prepare this scenario. I think they should get a real superstar like invest what the Nets have done last season to eventually be in the playoffs again. They were only a little better when Irving took over, but it's still not enough, they need to be a playoff contender and have to bring a proven NBA star player, not the one that is prone to injury and is aging.
Well remembered, when LeBron left the Cavs in 2010, Irving was drafted, brought some hope to Cleveland, after LeBron James second exit in 2018 (I think), the team level dropped dramatically and Cleveland guided to bring in followed by Collin Sexton (he's a good player and has a bright future), but unfortunately the Cavaliers aren't a competitive playoff team these days.

Well, Lebron is 36, Melo is 37, Gasol is 36, Ariza is 35, Westbrook is 32, Rondo is 35 years old, Howard is 35 years old. This is the main core of Lakers and they are all quite old, old as in the age some players even retired back in the day and I understand that today's technology allows players to train better and eat better to last a little longer but I doubt that everyone in this team could stay healthy, we are going to see a bunch of injuries.

AD is just 28, but he is also known for injuries as well so I am not too hopeful about him neither. When you look at the roster it looks like they are filled with stars, with 100% health and 100% given to the game I do not think that there is any team that even gets close to Lakers with this roster. However that 100% health is a very very risky thing and I am pretty sure it will not happen.
You're right, the Lakers' top players are over 30 years old.
But LeBron James despite his age, he's still playing VERY well, I even think that's insane as LJ's performance isn't decreasing (not drastically), he can still score well, get lots of rebounds and get many assists and he will complete 37 years in this year. This is insane!!
About Melo, I believe that as he will play with several players who are his friends, this will stimulate him and have chances for him to improve his performance (of course not like in his prime).
I still think Gasol could be a good reserve AD and Westbrook is still playing well (he still has his explosion and speed that are his hallmarks) and Rondo could be another player to help with the Lakers rotation.
By the way, in this team, LeBron James can play easily SG, SF and PF without any problem!

Cleveland had Lebron James, Irving, Love, and Thompson, these are the key to the success of the team and they won a championship together. When Irving left the team, Lebron also did the same so it really makes a superteam suddenly a struggling team, and until now they have not recovered yet. I don't know their future plan, but they should rebuild the name by getting a star player like Lebron James to gain the support of the fans again.

Last season they were at the number 13 ranking with only 22 (W) and 50 (L)... we don't see that when Bron was still with the team.
https://www.nba.com/standings

And I don't think this is true.

Cleveland Cavaliers are steadily improving, building team on right path -- even LeBron James sees it

Yes I remember very well, that was the team when TT and Jr Smith helped the Cavs lol  Roll Eyes Grin

Yes, I don't know, I believe LeBron left the Cavs because he was practically carrying the team and so he went to the Lakers, several Cleveland fans were angry with him.

I don't doubt that, a few years from now, when Bronny James is drafted for the NBA, I will have no doubts that he can go to the Cavs, and for LeBron James to finish his career, he'll come back to the Cavs maybe to play 1 or 2 seasons together with your son (I believe that kind of thing never happened in the NBA "father and son play together on the same team")

I'm honestly rooting for the Cavs to recover and improve their team, at least to make it to the playoffs

Sounds simple lol.

They acquired Lebron James thru the draft. There's no reference to seeing if a player will be like a Lebron 2.0 in the future.

If the Cavaliers will rebuild they should expand their space cap and used it to target big fish, at least. They are even always out of the trading picture once a big name appears or is rumored to be traded.

They are not joining the wave maybe because they will rely on their future draft picks. Being a team on the bottom, they will always have a good chance of picking a good and hype player at the rookie draft. Hope they can catch good rookies.

There's still time, and they can win a championship again. Their biggest addition was actually Westbrook, he is a superstar with the same level of James Harder, Kevin Durant, and even Kyrie Irving, so this team will be full of confidence to win every game once the season will start.

Westbrook has a very huge salary, https://hoopshype.com/player/russell-westbrook/salary/
So it's just right to expect a lot from him, he should help the king to have an easy journey in winning a championship again.

I think the lakers with +350 odds to win a championship is very enticing.
https://www.oddsshark.com/nba/championship-odds
They've taken another superstar on their team and they're expecting him to play at his best with the king.

Just as what we have seen with last year's Brooklyn, they're looking like they are today but still, it is undeniable that they still got what it takes to lead in the finals.

Also with Rondo's addition, another playmaker.

A good playmaker is what the Lakers need, if Lebron is injured, there's should be someone who should step up and lead the team. This season, it will not be hard for the Lakers even if Lebron will rest, they have Rondo and Westbrook who are good point guards and could definitely lead a team to win.

Just imagine, if Rondo and PG were able to bring the OKC to the playoffs, it's not impossible with the lakers that he has a lot of superstar around him, he got Lebron and Davis whom are consistent when it comes to contribution to the team.
Yes.

I've almost forgot about Lebron being injured and that's what they need and someone who can also be reliable close to Lebron. We're all counting on Lakers for this season.

Good expectations are on them right now.

The Chicago Bulls seem like they’re trying to grab all the talent they can right now. They might end up being one of the best off-season dealmakers. It seems they’re trying to sign Paul Millsap as their latest target. He might be on the downside of his career, but I think he’s still capable of putting up some big numbers.

As a veteran, he can help the Chicago Bulls. The current lineup is mostly in their prime and young ages. There are only 2 players in their 30s (Nikola Vujekic, 30, and DeMar DeRozan, 32) but both still playing at their peak. Adding Millsap and as a 4x All-Star, the Bulls will now have a considered legit mentor on the floor as other young guys will surely listen to him.

Chicago Bulls so far is one of the active teams in the post-season. What's next to their plan.

I like to see them make it to the playoffs this time, hopefully, that will come true. Zach LaVine has developed himself into an all-star in the NBA, so it's nice to see him paired with DeRozan whom we know can contribute as well. I'm really excited to see them play in the coming season, I hope there's no issue with chemistry.

Wonder what's the average age of this current Lakers roster, 36?  Grin
I can't wait to read news on injury from several Laker players by first half of the season Grin I'm also expecting heavy injuries on the Nets with players on similar age range.

Carmelo Anthony is the oldest at 37 years old, but I think though the average age of the entire roster is at least 30, I think they are still fit to play and they have the experience. If they are good at managing their roster, then we might not see a serious injury of this team next season.

They have a lot of veterans and the 2nd unit is a strong team, so there's no need to force the starting 5 heavy minutes just to win.
Yeah it will depend largely on the rotations. Still, their key players are old and I think they will play a lot of minutes given how competitive the league has become. Getting to the playoff spot is much harder to do now. Last season might have boosted the confidence of other teams with a younger core.

Lebron has proven that age is just a number, so I still trust them to be in the playoffs this season, and as long as Westbrook, Lebron, and Davis are healthy,  they are likely easily quality in the playoffs. The real challenge is in the playoffs because if one of them gets injured, I think they will struggle to win the series, just like what happened to them last playoffs against the Suns.

Lebron has proven that age is just a number, so I still trust them to be in the playoffs this season, and as long as Westbrook, Lebron, and Davis are healthy,  they are likely easily quality in the playoffs.

Lebron can still play on his best but his minutes should be limited to stay healthy throughout the season.

If you remember last season, the Lakers struggle when Lebron and Davis got injured and they were almost out of the playoffs but just survived the play-in tournament. This time, Westbrook can be their main scorer and not relying only on Lebron. Lakers Coach should think of the best way to distribute the minutes unlike he did last season where he put LBJ playing 35+ minutes per game.

Also a big body for inside defense. Veteran brain is a plus, he can still be used for 20 minutes each game and still contribute with his shooting skills and post up game. That guy put a good stat sheet on Denver Nuggets every time they gave him minutes.

My google search was a success before I say my opinion.  Grin I thought he was the Collison from OKC. Retired 2017 now 40 years of age. They are different but I knew Collison of OKC more than Darren.
Darren played 76 games with a good 20+ minutes per game. I don't know if he will be much of a help for GSW after resting for 2-3 years.

Interesting rumors on Ben Simmons while the training camps of the 30 NBA teams are just around the corner and he's still a Sixers player. There are many NBA executives who believe that the player will leave Philadelphia. As reported by The Athletic, for many insiders it's no longer a question of if Simmons will be traded but rather when.
According to the same source, the Sixers have their eyes on Lillard. A dream that until some time ago could be considered impossible but that could become more defined and credible in the next months. Let's keep an eye on the Philadelphia-Portland route.

It's not a secret already that we will see Ben Simmons on a different jersey next season. It's been always the rumor even before the start of the recent season. He is no longer capable of being a pure Sixers player because of various reasons.

The Sixers will do a good job if they will trade Simmons and keep Joel Embiid, their most performing player last season. Then hunt some good point guards that can replace Simmons, not by 100% but a good one to risks.

Lillard already debunked that he will be traded but if my understandings are correct, he just debunked that he will transfer to the Lakers but the signing to another team is possible.

That's a good trade for me if in case things work out between these two teams.

If Dame landed to Philly, he will be more effective playing 1-2 punch with Embiid, that power combo will surely help them up in chasing the title, while with Simmons, he can help CJ as he can work as a two-way player, a good defender and if needed he can also drive and get some good penetrations, Both teams will maximize the value of this two stars.

They've already sign Joel for a multi dollar contract extension, it means that he will be their franchise player. And yeah, Simmons wanted out already, you can't blame him, and he can't blame the Sixers as well for wanting to trade him because of his poor performance in their playoffs against the Hawks.

Lillard already debunked that he will be traded but if my understandings are correct, he just debunked that he will transfer to the Lakers but the signing to another team is possible.
Perhaps he wanted to be traded to a contender team, and maybe the Sixers will be a good home for him. But it will still be Joel's team no matter what, but the duo could be one of the dangerous if this trade with Simmons push through.

So it will follow him so for sure every team has a strategy of hack a Ben in the playoffs. I think it will be Portland's loss if they traded Dame, if I'm the President for Operations, I wouldn't push for it. So the burden is on Simmons today, he needs to improved his free throws and outside shooting to be more effective specially when playoff comes.

It's all over the news actually, Simmons wanted to be traded, there are reports that he is not responding to anyone from the Sixers team including Joel Embiid.

According to the same source, the Sixers have their eyes on Lillard. A dream that until some time ago could be considered impossible but that could become more defined and credible in the next months. Let's keep an eye on the Philadelphia-Portland route.

Most likely this will not be the case, I doubt that Portland will let go of Lillard next season. Trailblazers will be short handed in this trade, specially in a straight up trade. Probably Simmons will land on a team that is rebuilding.

Unless it's Lillard's decision being traded or he demands being traded, we don't know, right?
but it's really Blazer loss if they'll allow this, trading Lillard will be a big loss to this franchise, knowing him as fans hero it will impacts to their sales.

With Simmons' case, who among those rebuilding team have a same caliber? otherwise, they will trade it for their future picks.

Simmons still hanging, no further updates from his camp.

That will be the next trend once he will go to another team so they should address that deficiency of Simmons, He's a decent shooter way back then so maybe the only thing he needs to have is confidence so that's the best thing needed to get by Simmons so that he will not be the center of attention in crucial minutes in the game. He really needs to improve he's young and he has lot to offer.
