Business is business, if a player is not anymore contributing to the team, they should let him go as he is not an investment, for 2 seasons and he hasn't shown anything special, I think Dudley would already be happy as he already won a championship and that's the biggest dream of every player.
And that's actually the issue. Lakers management don't see any reason to keep him using the stat sheet but the players disagree with that especially Lebron James and Anthony Davis, their superstars. They want them to keep Dudley for a different reason. Support.

He was the last guy on the bench, but the strongest voice in the locker room.
Veterans has restricted minutes and mostly they don't play the whole game. So what is their purpose for the team? Their voice.
According to other players Dudley was good at that. So spending money for a voiceless veteran will be a waste but its rewarding if they can contribute some positivity and passion for the game.
I think the best example is Udonis Haslem. Agree? Him throwing the chair in front of the Heat team for giving up a lead and Bucks had a 14-0 run. He is vocal and passionate for the team to win the game.

But Dudley doesn't have an impact as a player, especially for the Lakers organization for 2 seasons. His voice might not have heavily influenced the bench area, especially inside the locker room. No offense but he is just filling the veteran slot as part of budgeting the cap space. Thanks to Lebron and Davis as they are encouraging the organization to keep him.

Different from Haslem who's considered as one of the Miami Heat Foundation and a pure Miami Heat, his hometown and considered as a franchise player. Any Miami Heat players today will really listen to him.

NBA rumors I’m seeing today… Kevin Love may be a possible buyout candidate and if so the Lakers would be a strong suitor for LeBron’s ex teammate.
Wow! Another Veteran player that still great addition in case Lakers takes the deal, I love seeing him playing with LeBron again this baseball pass that really a trademark of these two stars. Imagine both LeBron and Westbrook at the front alongside with Love, Davis and Melo. So cool. Cool

Quote
I’m also hearing that the Bulls are looking to sign DeMarcus Cousins to a deal. They’ve been making some good offseason moves and I think that team might make some waves this coming season.

Cousins improves when playing with the Clippers last season. If he continues playing that way, even coming off the bench, it's a great help for the bulls.
If there are confirmations about a possible buyout agreement between DeAndre Jordan and Brooklyn Nets, in Cleveland the same situation is happening with Kevin Love.
I guess Cleveland would welcome Love's cut in order to focus on the development of its young players and proceed to a complete renovation.
If the parties were to arrive at the buyout, the Brooklyn Nets seem to be at the window. With the Cavs, Love has another 2 years and $60 million left on his contract but the player could decide to give up a large chunk to become free.

Been reading the rumors about Kevin Love. But some analysts just created the speculation of him possibly going to the Lakers. There are no official statements nor hints, rumors, speculations coming from the Lakers themselves or a credible source on that possibility.

If that will become true, there is no other team where Kevin Love fits but only the Los Angeles Lakers. He is even more valuable and productive to me compare to Carmelo Anthony or to any veterans on the Lakers.

Just a quick search on the google regarding rumors of Kevin Love being traded to buyout and you will find this on this LINK.

Quote
An NBA source told me the Cavs were making progress toward a buyout for Love, who has two years and $60 million left on his contract. But the Cavs and other NBA sources have strongly denied it. This likely just another Kevin Love rumor, and there have been so many over the years. At some point, a buyout for Love make sense for both parties. No clue when that will happen.

Its possible still though that they will trade him but as of now, that is the report. I would like to see Love playing in the Lakers though alongside his buddy LeBron James who won a ring back when they are in the Cavaliers and Westbrook.

Now with the Bulls signing Cousins, I also think that he will be a big help on that team too and now that the Bulls lose a tall player in Markannen he will help the Bulls on the inside. He has a big contribution too in the playoffs against the Jazz and against the Suns too so he can help any team that he goes still. Injuries might still be there but a healthy Cousins can be a superstar still Smiley Kinda Cheesy.

Maybe someone has to go, and if this rumor will happen, then we might not see Gasol in Lakers uniform.

Gasol is not the same as before so provably if the team decide to take out one player on their rooster and also he's not producing stable good numbers so maybe its time for him to rest and enjoy his life on his retirement. He don't need to prove anything as he is proven an elite player so for sure he can leave a good legacy to NBA and his career will be remember but if that trade rumors will become real for sure he will became a bench warmer since they already have jaxson hayes which is young and also Jonas which we can say still doing a decent plays.

Which underdog teams will you bet for when the season starts?

Not that these teams are underdogs but I considering an outright bet for the Dallas Mavericks (betting since then for them no matter how good or worst their team is lol) and possibly for the Milwaukee Bucks. Not comfortable placing a bet for favorites when it comes to outright at the early phase of the season.

Currently, Mavericks @27 and Bucks @9.

I will wait for at least 10-15 games for adjustments.
Oh right, outright first. A little sad it's just 19 for the Nuggets.
I wish this will change when the season starts or perhaps before the season ends if they will be ranked at the lower seeds and comes back in the playoffs.
67 for the Bulls and 61 for the Knicks. Whoa! It's a good risky deal.  Grin It's like the firepower they added in their roster was not considered yet.
Hawks and Suns made a big surprise in the previous season. Which team will be the next to disturb the overhyped teams in the rankings?

Better to trade him as Howard is now back with the familiar inside core, having Davis and Howard is good enough for LeBron.

and if that rumors was true, acquiring Love would give much deeper inside defense. LeBron is not familiar with how Gasol play they didn't jive
as Gasol is more on touching the ball and also wants to set a play.

Unlike with McGee and Howard where this centers are just waiting for a drop or a alley hoop.

I've said it before that I think it's too late for the Nets to trade DeAndre Jordan but it would benefit them more if it's for Marc Gasol hehe. I'm not sure how Irving or Harden will play with him but I think KD will love his passing skills the most.

I disagree. It's just the same. Both of them are consuming a part of the salary cap without minutes in game. Dudley may not be a pure Laker but it doesn't mean he didn't contribute something and the reaction of Lebron speaks how much big of an impact he was in their roster.

The Lakers made Gasol unproductive, maybe it's time to let him go so other teams could benefit his talent. He was a champion, he had a big role in the success of the Toronto Raptors, so I'm also disappointed why I did not see the same Mark Gasol on the Lakers.
Yes! Whenever they put him in, he contributes but yet they won't give him the minutes that should've been for him. He can even provide a big space for paint attackers because he is a shooter and can pull the shot blocker at the 3 point line.

The Cavs said they’d buy out Kevin Love’s contract and send him to the Lakers to win another championship with LeBron James. Kevin Love basically said thanks but no thanks. Which is a little odd since he was tanking last season… Still, it looks like he’d rather lose and hurt his team then lose his $60 million dollars. Can’t say I blame him.

I also noticed that,  never saw a Mark Gasol that plays well when he was with Memphis and the Raptors, looks like the style of the LA Lakers does not fit to him and therefore he should be traded with other players so the Lakers will get the players that they really need.

With their number of centers, they can still be a championship team even without Mark Gasol.

Anyway, he is already 36 years old, he is not anymore in his prime.

Yes, he did contribute some on their playoffs run, but that's it for Marc as a Laker. He was still doing good in Toronto but when he goes to the Lakers it was very different and then his age shows up. They rely more on Trez as their center, but he was too undersized for that. Plus, if I'm not mistaken, Marc also got injured while he was in the Lakers that's why he wasn't given enough time. I think the Lakers should consider him moving out as well at this point of his career as his game is going down.

They're making the Lakers become a champ caliber for the next season and I think that they have to let go of Mark and find another one to fit the position that he's about to leave. There will be other teams where Mark can be good and play at his best so if he's best to fit into Pelicans, well, he's in a good team afterward and with lots of good talents are there. It's just about the chemistry that he'll make together with his possible new teammates once this trade is for real.

You know what I find interesting about all of this Rich Paul talk? People thinking it is about race. Let me tell you why that is not the case for many people like me; I have never heard about Rich Paul before this Nerlens Noel deal, the first time ever I hear about ANY agent ever (no idea which players agents are who, never cared about agents) and the first thing I hear about Rich Paul?

The fact that he lost Nerlens Noel a ton of money, no idea if he was black or white, didn't know that, and he was just a horrible agent who cost his client tens of millions of dollars. Second thing I hear about him? Him being Lebrons friend and partner and agent, still no idea if he is black or white. You know when I heard first about him being black? Someone said that "you guys are hating him because he is black", yes that's right, the first time I learned about Rich Paul being black was someone trying to defend him for being black.

I am as left as it gets and I still find that disgusting. Dude lost Nerlens Noel 58 million dollars, let him be hated for a while, and yes there must be some racist people who hate him for being black, those are sick disgusting people, but Nerlens is black too and defending Noel against Rich Paul is not racist, it is black vs black and we are defending another black person, not a white one.

By letting Mark Gasol go, they should get some players in return that could help build the goal of the Lakers this coming season. Lebron James would certainly want to add some on his legacy and that is by winning a championship again.

Mark Gasol's value has been declining as well compared to his salary with the Memphis where he gets over $20 million per season.

Quote
It’s only fitting after all these years, Marc Gasol would end up in Los Angeles. The Lakers have officially signed the center — reportedly to a two-year, $5.3 million deal with no player or team options — the team announced on Tuesday,

As far as I know, Rich Paul just advises Noel not to sign any contract because Rich Paul can give him a better deal, but this is just a verbal advise because at that time Rich Paul was not his manager. So Noel dump his former manager and then sign with Paul.

However, he gets injured, and guess what, your value goes down after you get yourself hurt in this league. Unless you are KD who can still sign max contract. But he is not a superstar player, that's why one one offered him close to $58 million after that injury. So NBA players job is not secure, if any teams offered you good money then accept it. We all have heard the case of Dennis Schröder, decline $80 million and look at what he is getting per year.

Mark Gasol could sign to any team because of his value, he has already enjoyed his max contract way back when he was still playing with his first team.

Quote
The Memphis Grizzlies and star center Marc Gasol have agreed to a five-year max contract worth an estimated $110 million, sources told ESPN.

It's a huge amount that he can enjoy even if he retires soon, at the same time, there's nothing for him to prove as he is already an accomplished player winning the NBA championship with the Toronto Raptors.

here are his career highlights in the NBA>
