Aldridge is 36 a border line age for retirement. Now, If we consider his health condition, he's considered as a permanently retired athlete already. I don't know what else that keeps him from continuing his career, but one thing is for sure it's "passion" and of course getting his first ring. If I'm not mistaken he didn't even have an NBA Finals experience.
One of the good players who didn't win a ring. The same as Steve Nash.
Anyway, let's give him another chance If he decides to come back. There's no news yet of him signing with any team right now.
I know him from his Spurs period at the very last days and I can easily say that dude should not play anymore. Not only because he has health issues but he doesn't really have all that much to offer right now with the way his health is. Like if KD had this kind of health issue then I would understand him trying to give some more to the game because he has talent and he is not too old just yet and he could basically score lights out many games so I would understand it.

However LMA is both not good at all anymore and he is also sick, so there is really no reason why he should be getting back into the game, he will not be helpful to most teams and he would be risking his health at the same time, seems useless to danger something for so little return.

He will not play if he is still sick and no teams in the NBA would sign him if they still see the health problem within him. LA will come back because he think he will be able to play again, and because of his passion in basketball, though he is already at the retirement age, he still wants to have a last shot to finally get a championship playing in a team that has a big potential to make it.

Surely they are.

Are there any other teams that are just like them? like a full-blown team with complete all-star players with the recent news about transfers and change of rosters?

There's no other team like them, at least now we have two super teams unlike before where people only see the warriors as the super team. It's still a balance though in the East and the West, I hate to say that if this team will stay healthy, they will likely face in the NBA Finals, the other teams has no chance for an upset, but it's still my personal opinion though, don't take it seriously.  Grin

A balanced team for the LA Lakers and Nets, Smiley

All the attention is on these two teams, and we did not even talk about the Bucks who were the champion last season, just like the Raptors when they won the championship because we believe they will not make it again, no bias, but the Bucks and Suns would not be in the NBA Finals if they faced a healthy Nets and LA Lakers.

Would you agree with me?

It’s now official. LaMarcus Aldridge has signed a 1-year deal with the Nets for 2.6 million dollars. Looks like he’s ready to make one more run at the title. I also hear that the Nets are sending DeAndre Jordan to the Pistons, where he’s likely to be bought out and sign with the Lakers for his last attempt at securing a title.

If one of those two teams doesn’t win it all this year, there’s going to be a lot of angry veterans.

After the Warriors, we saw the Lakers and the Nets.

But all of a sudden, the Warriors seem to be one of the underestimated teams after their falling short for a number of seasons.

It is likely that these two will be heading up to the finals but last time, our expectation and prediction about the Nets failed.

Honestly Lakers are a very old team.  It will be amazing if their healthy roster even by mid year resembles the beginning of the year roster.  Tes this old always have injury issues all year.  Not rooting for injuries but it is what it is.  Nets se thing, they can't all stay on the court together.  If they do its a good squad but don't sleep on the Bucks again.

It's still a balance though in the East and the West, I hate to say that if this team will stay healthy, they will likely face in the NBA Finals, the other teams has no chance for an upset, but it's still my personal opinion though, don't take it seriously.  Grin

Yes that is one of main concern but honestly that's not an issue and I think that's the advantage since they have more experience together with talent the only thing they need to work is how their rooster could fit in together, they are known stars and ball dominant players so for sure its a pain in the ass of couching staff of how they adjust the roles of the players and for sure they will think about if the players would agree for the role given specially the minutes they will get in the court.

Ok, so at least the Nets make one room for him, after all he was really a Nets prior to his early retirement because of heart injury.

So Lakers still re-building, is Marc Gasol out already? I can't remember, but yeah, in any case if DeAndre joins the LA then him and Howard  would be solid. Two veterans as 1-2 for the team.

Shams is reporting that DeAndre is signing a 2.6 million dollar deal with the Lakers as soon as he clears waivers. That pretty much sets the Lakers lineup. I also believe they’ll need Gasol to be officially off the roster at that point, so we can expect to hear news on that soon. As far as I was aware, Gasol was as good as gone last week.

Speaking of veterans. I wish these three veteran players could just find their new home.
Quote
As teams are looking to finalize their rosters ahead of training camp, a trio of NBA veterans -- Isaiah Thomas, Lance Stephenson and Monta Ellis-- worked out for the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. Charania reported that Thomas, specifically, appeared in great shape.
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba-veterans-isaiah-thomas-lance-stephenson-monta-ellis-work-out-for-mavericks-per-report/
I didn't know Monta Ellis is just 35 years old. He was a great offensive player before at Warriors and we didn't see him after 2016. Looking forward to see them again play in NBA.

I missed Monta Ellis, where this guy has been?
He last played with Indiana Pacers last 2016-2017 season and no contract after that.
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/e/ellismo01.htm

I am a big fan of him, especially during his time with the Warriors, so I'm really glad if the Mavericks will sign him.

He was plague with injuries if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, he was a scoring machine, won the MIP award. But with the arrival of Steph Curry and then eventually Klay Thompson, perhaps GSW decided that they will center their franchise to these two young players and decided to ship out Ellis although he has like averaging 25 ppg for the Warriors that time.

Yeah, he is 35 years old, and we as fans always look for players that can still play in the league although they have age already, so hopefully he can be given another chance by the Dallas Mavericks.

Lakers and Nets will only meet 3 times unless they will battle for the Finals.
1 preseason (October 4), 1 after Christmas (December 26), and January 22, 2022. Games that should not be missed by the newly registered bandwagons.
Clippers are silent and just moved players once for Eric Bledsoe. I think they are building chemistry instead of rebuilding the team which is a great idea.
They may come back stronger especially if they can improve Terrance Mann's confidence.

It seems that we can expect an epic final series next season, considering that the starting lineups of the Lakers and Nets look crazy on paper. Smiley Regarding Marc Gasol, he still has a contract with the Lakers until the end of next season. However, I agree with you that Gasol can leave the team shortly.

But all of a sudden, the Warriors seem to be one of the underestimated teams after their falling short for a number of seasons.
It's not all of a sudden when the Warriors have been on the decline after KD left the team. I'm not underestimating them but I really think there are at least four more teams that's better than them in the West at the moment (even with Curry and Thompson back healthy).

~

I was hoping they sign Marc Gasol from Lakers. He and Kahwi had a good connection back in Toronto during their title run.

Curry is good, even getting better but I don't expect that Thompson would be back to his old self after getting seriously injured and did not play for 2 seasons. I hope he is okay, we have some kind of doubt on Durant's return but he proved that he is still the same, so Thompson should be the same as well.

I think that's a great idea too, Gasol could be more productive in a team that lack a legit big man, I know the Clippers have one but Gasol's experience is something.

Mann has the potential to be good, just needed some confidence maybe. In the playoffs he has a good game wherein he initiate a huge comeback. So it's good that they will give them enough time to play so that he can developed his confidence more.

Even though the dynasty of the Warriors ended already, I'm still a big fan of the team as long Curry is in the team.
Curry singlehandedly carried the team to the 8th spot and just lost by a few points against the Memphis in the play-ins. With a healthy Thompson coming back and some added players, I think this is still a team that need to be watched out with even though the West is already filled with many superstars and the competition on that conference is more intense especially in playoff spots compare to the East (that is my own experience).

~
Clippers are silent and just moved players once for Eric Bledsoe. I think they are building chemistry instead of rebuilding the team which is a great idea.
With a good coach and the team going into a rebuilding phase, it really is a great idea. Its expected that Kawhi will miss the upcoming season so maybe they might tank too like the Warriors did when Curry got injured to get some good draft picks or we don't know since they still got PG13.

It’s now official. LaMarcus Aldridge has signed a 1-year deal with the Nets for 2.6 million dollars. Looks like he’s ready to make one more run at the title. Just saw the news and it seems that Jordan is now on a perfect team for him.
The Lakers got many bigs though but with Davis prone to injuries, they really need as much substitutes as they needed to. Good for him too since he isn't used that much in the Nets especially after the Big 3 entered the team.

Also, after KD left, it was a complete rebuild by the GSW, maintaining only their big 3, Curry, Thompson and Green. The rest of the championship team are now gone, maybe except for Andre Iguodala, who is a returning player. Curry was back last year, showing flashes and still at his prime, become the scoring champion, but was eliminated and didn't make it to the playoffs.

But with Klay Thompson back in the team, I think they can make it in this year playoff, but going to the finals will be very difficult as there are a lot of good teams in the West.

Hahaha.  Grin Perhaps we could propose to the NBA to name it like that if ever both teams will be the ones who will face in the Finals.

Not a bad idea. We have seen Clippers sit Zubac because they need speed against the Suns and there is no way Zubac will shoot outside.
After game 4 they switched to a small lineup and tried to use Cousins instead. Yeah, he may have done well but he cannot perform at a high level for 40+ minutes anymore. Gasol may be a good idea to stretch the rotation.

Clippers are silent and just moved players once for Eric Bledsoe. I think they are building chemistry instead of rebuilding the team which is a great idea.
They may come back stronger especially if they can improve Terrance Mann's confidence.

Might be good, might also be bad.
The Clippers have missed 2 consecutive NBA finals trip during the Leonard and PG13 emergence in LA.
It's not really a bad idea If they want to solidify their team chemistry, but teams in the west are also improving. The Suns could beat them again with the same roster.
IMO, they should look for a better fit for PG and Leonard as well.
The Lakers and the Nets are stacking superstar vets. These veterans cannot be underestimated. They can still play, and still knows how to play. Age is just a number anyway. Remember Parker, Ginobili, and Duncan who are still able to get a ring late in their career.
