Like OgNasty mentioned earlier Paul Millsap will become a player of the Brooklyn Nets.
The former Denver Nuggets player will be coached by coach Steve Nash after exploring the free agency.
Although the figures of the deal have not been disclosed yet, it should cover only one year at minimum salary. Brooklyn gets a profile of enormous experience basically low cost!

The strategy is very similar with the LA Lakers, they are getting low-cost players with good experience and Millsap will definitely be useful for the Nets to their campaign to the championship next season. They failed last season due to injury, so hopefully, it will not happen again so we will see the best teams playing in the NBA Finals.

At this point, I doubt. Just look at how he quickly decides to retire because of his irregular heart beating concern last season instead of going just to recovery period but still part of the team. That creates panic and mental stress to him so right away, he retires officially without hesitation. If he will play again, the same scenario might happen again even he is healthy because he already knows the feeling of being under stress.

But who knows though that he's now finally overcome it after several months. But as far as the current rumors about him are concerned, there is no hint coming from him itself that he is really interested to play again. All is that, he was just being cleared as healthy to come back playing at the league.
I don't know his mental state, but if he had decided to stay with the team at that time, he would have been very helpful in the playoff, especially against the Bucks. Anyway, I think his decision to retire was hasty. Maybe he will comment on these rumors about his returning in the coming days.

Probably it was the advise of the doctors to stop playing for good, that's why the sudden retirement from the Nets. I do agree that he will be a big help if by chance he continues to play. Blake played the center position which he is undersized.

As for Paul Millsap, a veteran minimum salary, still win-win for Nets and Paul. We might see some flash of his old self and could have games that he can score 20++ points.

There are rumors that LaMarcus Aldridge is going to return to the NBA next season. It seems that he is healthy at the moment, considering that he already passed all necessary tests. By the way, the Nets are interested in Aldridge, and they probably will sign a contract with him again.

The Nets just signed Paul Millsap. That makes them chasing Aldridge a little less likely. I didn’t really expect the Nets to land Millsap but those are the kinds of free agent moves that are possible when you’re heavily favorites to win it all next year. The Lakers I think have the best big three, but the Nets have some serious depth that will come in handy come playoff time.
It could also save them from unexpected injuries which happened last season.
You just never know what the outcome will be and if ever they could take a good spot in the season, they could start using the bench and restrict the minutes of their stars avoiding accidents.
I thought the Nuggets will resign him but it looks like they are also aiming for a younger player that will fill the forward spot.

Probably Paul was not a good fit for the Nuggets, that why they have to let him go. Good thing is that the Nets saw something in him, and quickly sign him. He could be a good reliever for the team and defender. He has so much experience already, and this will be a plus for the Nets specially if they enter the playoffs as Millsap can provide some leadership too. So yeah, probably the LA acquisition is no longer in the table for the Nets.

He still has some quality minutes, don't say he is not fit, I think they just need a better contributor than him, and we can understand since Paul Millsap is not anymore in his prime, he is already 36 years old, and he only has a few seasons left before he will officially retire.

So they re-adjust added more players in the rotation that can contribute and be a role players, giving them like 10 minutes of rest to avoid injuries and be healthy come playoff time. Maybe we can see restricted minutes on the big 3 as well if possible.

All the nets can do now is just to add players with a low salary as the big 3 had already consumed the bigger part of the salary cap. The nets management  are willing to gamble and it really pay off, they are just a little short since Harden and Irving got injured during the playoffs run.

Good strategy in their part adding players who can add up good experienced in case injuries hurt them again,

Those players can play alongside with their stars and still can contribute and continue their rally. They are serious about bringing this team
back to conference finals and they are now bringing help.

Millsap is no longer young but the caliber as a two-way player still there while
if they can bring back Aldridge, that's again a good pick for them.

Nets will be full of veterans just like the LA Lakers do, and since they have the highest chance of winning next season, then they should continue to improve their lineup so they will not be called an overrated team. If Aldrige will come back, hopefully he will not become a liability of the team, I mean he should not be treated like he came from a serious health problem, and the expectation should still be high.

Do they still have the space? I think upon signing Millsap its a hint that they won't add any players in their roster. It could lead to paying high amount of luxury tax if they will force more players even with just veteran contracts.

Speaking of veterans. I wish these three veteran players could just find their new home.

I didn't know Monta Ellis is just 35 years old. He was a great offensive player before at Warriors and we didn't see him after 2016. Looking forward to see them again play in NBA.

I missed Monta Ellis, where this guy has been?
He last played with Indiana Pacers last 2016-2017 season and no contract after that.

I am a big fan of him, especially during his time with the Warriors, so I'm really glad if the Mavericks will sign him.

Probably he can still deliver the same performance he did when he was still playing, but the problem is the long term effect of what he is feeling and for sure it will slow him down and it might affect the future of the team if they don't see the risk of losing him again in the season.

Probably if he will get signed, I think he will only get a very low salary.

Aldridge is 36 a border line age for retirement. Now, If we consider his health condition, he's considered as a permanently retired athlete already. I don't know what else that keeps him from continuing his career, but one thing is for sure it's "passion" and of course getting his first ring. If I'm not mistaken he didn't even have an NBA Finals experience.
One of the good players who didn't win a ring. The same as Steve Nash.
Anyway, let's give him another chance If he decides to come back. There's no news yet of him signing with any team right now.

I can't also remember that played in the NBA Finals, I think he had a better run during his time with the Portland Blazers than the Spurs. He has some big contract so I'm sure he is not looking for a big salary anymore, but as an NBA player whose passion is on it, winning a championship is a fulfillment, probably that's the reason why he wants to finish the unfinished business with the Nets.

There are rumors that LaMarcus Aldridge is going to return to the NBA next season.

His retirement last season is very shocking and nobody expected that to happen and now he is coming back after doctors said that he was clear and he is ready to come back again for another season.
Well, lets give him another chance. I think that he can be helpful still with the team that he will plays with. If I'm not mistaken, the Nets will re-sign him again although I'm not sure still because they also got Millsap. With his current health condition, one year would be enough I think and after that he will retire.

If he will not be signed by the Nets, maybe put him in the Warriors Cheesy. He can still be a reliable bench center on that team. A team that doesn't have that many big aside from Wiseman that is 7 Flat and Bjelica which is 6'9". Anyway, lets wait on the announcement unto which team will try to sign him.

Lakers and Nets can literally fill up most of the roster for the 2021-2022 NBA All Stars for West vs. East hehe. I was planning to post the meme I saw earlier but cannot find it so just picture it in your mind.

...I didn't know Monta Ellis is just 35 years old. He was a great offensive player before at Warriors and we didn't see him after 2016. Looking forward to see them again play in NBA.

I missed Monta Ellis, where this guy has been?
He last played with Indiana Pacers last 2016-2017 season and no contract after that.
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/e/ellismo01.htm

I am a big fan of him, especially during his time with the Warriors, so I'm really glad if the Mavericks will sign him.

The man had drug issues before so he better come back clean before any team would sign him. I also don't know if the Mavs would risk their reputation by signing him.

Monta Ellis was a great player.  I remember hoping that my Chicago Bulls were going to sign him when there was a lot of chatter about him being moved to a new team.  He was a great shooter.  By signing this player, that does not put the Mavs in a position to have their "reputation" at risk. The Mavs have had plenty of players with their own issues and there is technically nothing wrong with someone having had a drug problem.

I'm not questioning his skills or how great a player he was. He's guilty of violating the league's anti-drug rules and was suspended. Will they sign that type of player? What if NBA fans found out his history and attacked the team? That's what I was going after when I said "reputation"

Wow. I didn't know that happened. I tried to dig and I saw it. It was him and Reggie Bullock that was tested positive 3 times for marijuana.
Bullock though didn't stop and continued his career after the suspension. But why did Ellis really stopped?
The last news was a buyout from the Pacers because of injuries and he is still receiving that buyout money until 2021-2022 with $2.4M. I think he knows he will need a job after that that's why his name comes out again.
I don't think people will attack him for the marijuana case, it's not the worst drug out there. It will be his injuries, health, and age that will be questioned before a team signs him up.

The question was followed by the answer I guess?

Quote
I think he knows he will need a job after that that's why his name comes out again.
Definitely.

Quote
I don't think people will attack him for the marijuana case, it's not the worst drug out there.
It's the act and not the type of drugs I guess but I dunno how other people would view that.

Quote
It will be his injuries, health, and age that will be questioned before a team signs him up.

That's hugely part of it. I have to add that employers tend to choose those with clean records if the applicants are of equal standing in terms of skills. There were also speculations about his gang ties.

I know him from his Spurs period at the very last days and I can easily say that dude should not play anymore. Not only because he has health issues but he doesn't really have all that much to offer right now with the way his health is. Like if KD had this kind of health issue then I would understand him trying to give some more to the game because he has talent and he is not too old just yet and he could basically score lights out many games so I would understand it.

However LMA is both not good at all anymore and he is also sick, so there is really no reason why he should be getting back into the game, he will not be helpful to most teams and he would be risking his health at the same time, seems useless to danger something for so little return.

His retirement last season is very shocking and nobody expected that to happen and now he is coming back after doctors said that he was clear and he is ready to come back again for another season.
It's important to see the medical records and if the doctors give him the green signal, it's good to go for him
to play back if there's still team that interested to hire him and help the team.

Quote
Well, lets give him another chance. I think that he can be helpful still with the team that he will plays with. If I'm not mistaken, the Nets will re-sign him again although I'm not sure still because they also got Millsap. With his current health condition, one year would be enough I think and after that he will retire.
We don't know if which team I guess negotiations are now rolling between his agent and those teams who show interest after he announce
that he will take another shot in this coming new season. With his height and his good shooting touch outside, even coming from the bench, he can still give some decent numbers.

Quote
If he will not be signed by the Nets, maybe put him in the Warriors Cheesy. He can still be a reliable bench center on that team. A team that doesn't have that many big aside from Wiseman that is 7 Flat and Bjelica which is 6'9". Anyway, lets wait on the announcement unto which team will try to sign him.
Maybe yes or maybe not, with the type of gameplay Warriors have, he's good fit since he can also shoot outside but the running offense that serves as defense may not work for him considering that he's age and his health condition, it's hard for him to run with Steph, Klay and Draymond.
