Earlier I woke up seeing a clip on Facebook of Kevin Durant slipping on the floor while warming up against OKC. I thought it won't become a major issue until I heard updates that he is not playing against OKC. It was supposed to be the first game of KD as a Suns in Phoenix. No update on his injury yet but hopefully it isn't that bad. Phoenix Suns are on fire right now with a 4 game winning streak. They'll be in trouble if KD isn't back as their next 3 games are against the Kings, Warriors, and Bucks. Imagine if it is once again a season-ending injury. Booker and CP3 are bad luck. It's too bad for Kevin Durant. He already had a lot of injuries like his ruptured Achilles at the year 2019 and he missed the entire 2019-20 season and also in the 2020-21 NBA season due to various of injuries. Hoping that he will recover fast this time the Phoenix suns needs him for the upcoming games since it will be facing goods teams like Bucks and Warriors.
KD's injury now is not that bad tho he still needs to recover for his safety and for a better game.

the good thing about him is that when he does play, he still delivers his usual production.

Because he is actually being able to perform well whenever he is eventually being able to play, I believe that they should give him enough rest so that when he is able to play, he is performing great. Now if they do not give him proper rest, he is going to be more injured and he will also not be able to perform well when he is playing. Now if this is unacceptable for the team, and they want to replace him, it is totally understandable. But if they want to have him, they will have to make some sacrifices.

The Suns have the liberty to give Durant more rest since they are in the top 4 in the Western Conference, which means their playoff spot is relatively secure at the moment. In fact, the Suns only struggled when Booker was injured and out for a while. Now that he is back, they will be able to continue on their winning path while Durant waits to deliver big-time come playoffs.

Yes, they do but it's still much important for Durant and the rest of the roster if he can still play because in that way, they can improve their deepness, be more precise and be more synchronized. Unfortunately, the Suns have no other choice but to rule out Durant in their upcoming games as he needed some time to rest and recover. What happened earlier was just unexpected as that was just a warm-up but that was quite serious as he rolled his ankle while driving towards the paint.

No update as of now about the severity of his ankle injury.
Suns fear star could miss rest of regular season with ankle sprain

It will be a real bad news for the team if it turns out that Durant will be again in the sidelines for the rest of the season and cannot play the upcoming playoffs as the team needed him more now while regular season's end is fast approaching and just like what you guys have mentioned, their next five games are not that easy to win even if Booker is healthy. Let's just be positive for now that he will just have to rest for a maximum of two weeks or less.

A couple games to watch tonight on TNT. First up is the grizzlies and the Warriors, which I think without Ja Morant is going to be a landslide victory for the warriors. Then you have the kings versus the Knicks, which is somewhat unusual for a TNT televised game. You don’t get to see the kings on national TV very often so I might have to watch that one.

This is where most stars will get injured. I get it, they are trying to secure their playoff spot and working harder than their last 50 games. But, they could've done this earlier and could be resting now with restricted minutes. Now, it had gone to worst. Luka Doncic is going to get MRI as soon as possible. Kevin Durant, I hope that is not bad. Brandon Ingram hurt himself too.

I like how healthy the Sacramento Kings are though, I guess that's one of the reasons why they are now in the top 2 of the Western Conference. The good part is, they always play hard. Even in a game that looks like a blowout, they still play way harder.
Let's wish there won't be another star injury or the playoffs won't be much fun. 16-18 games left.
When the whole seasons load comes on top of you, it becomes harder to stay healthy, this is why most people get injured close to playoff time. They have played 50+ games, even 60 and then suddenly that type of load is too much for players and they start to get tired.

I mean just go out and walk for a mile everyday, you will realize that after a few months even though you are more in shape, it still tires you a lot and not missing a single day is hard, you will end up missing some days eventually. These are million dollar athletes, they try to take care of their body as much as possible, and even with that, having 30+ minutes a night of high adrenaline sports is not easy for 80+ games a year.

I think they were hoping to get a good flow going.  Everyone knows they were gonna male it in it was merely how fluid will the team be if Durant jumps in kid playoffs.  Durant just can't stay on the floor.  Generational talent but does no good being the best guy who can't suit up.  Shame was looking forward to seeing them all together.  Just got a.little taste and poof, gone.

Warriors though are a bad team on the road, and even if Curry is back on the floor, they have a back to back loses already. On the other hand, without Ja Morant it will be very difficult for the Memphis to win, and probably they suffer mental fatigue as well with all the issues in front of them right now.

Knicks vs Sacramento, gonna be a good one, so I think it deserved to be televised as this is two of the hottest team right now.

Knicks winning streak has been broken though, while the Sacramento Kings trying to solidify their 2nd spot position behind Denver Nuggets.

I can’t really say Shawn Kemp is relevant to today’s NBA but as a kid who used to watch him dunk over everyone back in the day I can say that I’m a little saddened by this news. It’s looking like he may be doing a decade or more in prison, as a result of the shooting, but the details are still somewhat unknown. However, having footage of him, pulling the trigger, isn’t going to do him any favors.

Yes, wear and tear will always be a factor to any given player or even athletes. Especially in the NBA where the highest wear and tear as always have a game in almost every other day, mainly the star players because their playing time is much more longer than the average players in the league and then there's the load their carrying in almost every game. In-fact, these players can only rest if they have an injury because if they are healthy, a 2-day gap in their games is still not that assuring to them as they still need to participate in their practice to prepare for their next games.

Now the Lakers are in the play-in tournament and we never expected this one to happen in their last games with Westbrook as soon as they released him, they managed to play well even without Lebron. AD is doing well these past few games and they are coming to get that number 6 slot if they continue to win in their next games as well. They can really do well even when they are only a few stars on the court and seems like AD is finding his right rhythm while playing today even though he injured his nose but he continues to dominate the game.

Honestly, I didn't expect the Lakers to win anything during LeBron's absence, but now they have 7 wins in their last 10 games, and that's surprising. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but they've been doing really well since getting rid of Westbrook. However, it's too early for them to relax because there are 16 more games left until the end of the regular season, and they're not even guaranteed a Play-in Tournament or Playoff spot yet.

Yes, there's no need for them to cut some slack because they are still in a dangerous spot and a loss can definitely make their standings change again as they are still tied with the Pelicans, then there's the Thunder below them and ready to get their places if they will make some mistakes in their upcoming games.

But I think the Lakers can somehow manage their next five games, D'Lo might be back again on the hardwood this Friday to help the Lakers face the Toronto Raptors. No James, no problem as long as the remaining roster is healthy, they already proved that and will do it again.

True, they will have to build that momentum moving forward just like any teams right now. Sure there were reports that there are guranteed for a play-in, but it doesn't mean they need to be slacking again. They will have to win every games still with or without Lebron James. They had a good games, winning back to back and it's too early to conclude, but I must say that Rob Pelinka did a good job getting this role players to help AD and Lebron. It's just the question whether it's enough for them this season, salvage a playoff run or even contend for the NBA championship, but that is far stretch in my opinion.

Cheesy **peace**

Source: https://www.nba.com/news/kevin-durant-ankle-slips-during-warmups-misses-home-suns-debut

That would be rough. I think I saw the news that says he will miss the rest of the regular season and some of the playoffs. If he could play in the playoffs though, the Suns should be fine. Actually, the ranking in the west is quite irrelevant right now since it is so packed that even if you are on the 8th rank, you are still a contender for the championship. Even the top of the rank cannot be so sure when playoffs come.

snip
the good thing about him is that when he does play, he still delivers his usual production.

I think that the Sun will do. They traded a lot of assets for him, so they have to make sure that he will recover fast and stay healthy for the playoffs. That is the time that he matters the most. The Suns can survive the regular season and maintain their rank. They still have Booker, Ayton and CP3 in the lineup. It should not be too hard to maintain a good rank with the caliber of the players they still have.

I watched Mavs - Pelicans game last night. Pelicans dominated the game even before Dončić out. Unlike Durant, I heard he's okay though. Pelicans has a really good squad chemistry. Young players develop day-by-day. McCollum is leading the team well. They should be in play-off. They will play more games in regular season without Zion, he's out for at least two more weeks.

Did watch the Warriors-Grizzlies game except for the final minutes of the game. Grizzlies won by 21 points.

I'm kind of disappointing not only because of how awful the defense of the Warriors are, but how they can't take the lead after having huge runs. Grizzlies got a 20 point lead at the 1st quarter then the Warriors made a run to put the deficit to single digits in the 2nd quarter. After than, Grizzlies will make another run again putting the lead to double digits, and then Warriors will come back again with their own. They didn't even took the lead the whole game I think.

Anyway, I'll just watch the Knicks-Kings game after watching the Warriors lose yet again on the road. That loss of the Warriors is their 8th consecutive road loss which is tied for the 2nd most for Coach Steve Kerr. On the other hand, 48 points by the Grizzlies is by far the highest number of points they have in the first quarter this season. That just shows how bad the defense of Warriors are. Giving 48 points in first quarter alone. They're like the Mavericks 2.0 TBH.

I’m a bit in shock after seeing that Durant warmup video. Pretty rare for someone to get a level 2 sprain from a layup line. He could miss some of the playoffs as a result. I hope that’s an overreaction. I was hoping to see him play in person the regular season but I guess that’s not going to happen now..,,
2 weeks is what I heard earlier but now I saw 3 weeks, that's the estimated time that he will be gone. This is actually not new to us. Remember Klay Thompson also ruptured his Achilles during practice only. These are sad events but shit does happen. So yes, he may miss the remaining games in the regular season.

They are playing harder on the defensive end to meet their lack of offensive power and I actually love it.
This is how young players should play unlike what I just saw in the Warriors team being beaten by the Grizzlies big time. Klay looks out, I bet one of his actions will be in Shaqtin, many of them don't have the defensive intensity of a champion anymore, they rely too much on the offensive power of their three points and that is why they will keep on losing.

After being traded to Durant, the thing I feared most and always said was injury. Durant got injured after playing a few more matches, unfortunately he is old and I think that's why he can get injured more easily than other players. If he suffers such an injury during the playoffs, we won't see a good result for the Phoenix Suns.
The team needs Durant, I hope he recovers soon and doesn't get injured again

At 34 years old, in my opinion, is not considered old. Injuries can happen to anyone, even to players like Chris Paul. However, let's hope that Durant's injury is not serious, so he will be able to come back at the right time. There's no need to rush the situation; he can rest because his teammates are always there to support him and help the team win.

They need KD to enhance the chance of winning the title. It's a good trade indeed if KD did not suffer for another injury, but we really can't tell what the future will be for each player.

That accident will affect the chance but not necessarily can dictate or accurately tell that it will be
the outcome, the league is still far and there are still changes that may take place.

We know how KD perform and this is not good to Sun for having this unfortunate injury gotten by Durant since their rooster is really affected in terms of productivity in points and defense. They trade their valuable piece for him so for sure his absence might create a big impact which can affect their team performance especially they are aiming to win a championship this season.

It's not confirmed yet, but there's a risk that he could miss the remainder of the season. Hopefully, that will not happen.

That's according to this article.
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/kevin-durant-injury-update-suns-stars-sprained-ankle-expected-to-be-re-evaluated-in-two-weeks-per-report/

Quote
The Arizona Republic reported that there was fear within the Suns organization that the superstar forward could be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season

Durant has shown that he can fit into the team, but with this recent development, it looks like the Suns are at a disadvantage as they gave up their role players for Durant. Without Durant, I don't think they can win a championship.

^Yes, what a turn of events for the Suns, as Durant seems to be injured again, and if he can't play throughout the rest of the season, then I doubt that they can make it to the finals again.

I guess this is what they have to pay now, giving up the 'twins', and for now the risk didn't pay, just saying.

So another adjustment has to be made, and Booker has to carry, but not sure if he can do it.
