Not many play defense these days. It's a lot of 3 pointers and rebounding in todays NBA. Everyone is all about being flashy or the go to guy on the team. Like Ja Morant for example. The guy is great to watch as a 1 man show, but if he didn't get the ball 90% of the time, would he still score like he does?

Well. Not much is expected from CP3 when it comes to defense anymore, as long as he can contribute to the offense even at his age. Playmaking specially and those unstoppable perimeter shots.

No, Ja Morant needs the ball first because his score comes mostly from a dribble. Unlike other shooters who just wait in a corner ready for a catch-and-shoot.
This is where the difference with other stars comes as a big factor.
Nikola Jokic had been the most entertaining guy recently if you are a fan of an all-around player. He can shoot near the basket with his smooth stroke, he can also pass in a very good way, and he can also make his own shots by means of post-up or offensive rebounds for a tip-in.
I think that's where they should look at the value of the players now. He definitely had a big impact on the Denver Nuggets and his skills are contagious. They became an unselfish team.

That's what they did. They've given up defense to focus more on offense.

Both the Mavericks and the Suns did that. They've traded their defensive players plus their draft picks for 2 of the best all-star players in the league right now. As for the Suns, there's no problem with them offensively especially their starting 5 is for me one of the best on paper this season and on the other hand, KD is also a great defender with around 1 BPG so it's still ok for the team. The question is the health of their players. Booker, Paul, and Durant has a long history of injuries.

Also take note that CP3 is known for being the best choker when it comes to playoffs. We have Coach Doc Rivers as the coach who is choking on the playoffs, and we also have CP3 who is also choking on the playoffs. CP3 is the only player who blown out 2-0 lead 5 times. Will CP3's past performance on the playoffs affect his whole team this season?

I believe the Suns will be able to make up for their weak defense with their offense, especially now that Durant has joined the team.

But a determining factor is that, in the playoffs, the games are more competitive and depending on the physical conditioning of a player, he may be injured during the playoffs. Unfortunately CP3 is one such example.
If the Suns really stand out in the playoffs and manage to reach a WCF, he will need to rotate and always be changing CP3, so he doesn't get injured, but an extremely positive point that CP3 has is his experience, I have no doubt that this could be an important thing for the Suns, especially in the playoffs, which for the most part separates the men from the children.

I would love for CP3 to get his championship ring before he retires, he deserves it, he had an excellent career in the NBA, and unfortunately, I have no doubt that he will retire soon.

If a team can't defend well, they can win a match but not become a champion. I hope we don't keep saying that for the Suns when playoff time comes. It doesn't look like the Suns will have any problems offensively with this squad, but I can't say the same for defense.

Yes, I don't know if the Celtics are really that good or the Bulls are just too complacent since Celtics missed their 3 star players.

Yeah, I think that's the correct one, and it's a back-to-back game for the Warriors so they can let this slide. That's the final game of the Warriors too and they will be resting until the end of the All-Star break. I guess that is why Steve Kerr was eager to win the game and even had a technical foul while the refs are missing a lot of foul calls. Looney was being smashed all over the paint. 
But have you noticed how strong the Clippers' roster is? PG13, Kawhi, Powell, Hyland, Gordon, and Plumlee, a lot of known players in one team.

He already gained that message, he is one of the reasons why Celtics have improved as a team. Not only his offense but his defense as well, his basketball IQ as well is high and he doesn't look pressure on the court, he played with great concentration, so I would say, they really need him in the playoffs, and do things like he did in the past.

They are already strong as they are and now they have KD with them, it's really good to see such a team get some help in order to push their chance to win a championship and at least their doing their best to adjust their rosters when things don't work for them after the season. Unlike other teams who don't seem to care to acquire new players to improve their record this year and they might not really want to win any playoff series let alone the NBA championships.

We’ve got the Pelicans and Lakers televised tonight on ESPN.  LeBron and Anthony Davis are both listed as possibly out tonight. I also wonder if we’ll get the chance to see Mo Bamba in a Lakers uniform tonight or anytime soon. Still no Zion which is a shame. I was hoping we’d see him in the all star game this weekend. I think it's quite reliable enough to consider that Chris Paul indeed asked the Suns management to acquire Carmelo Anthony in the free agency as this news has been spreading throughout almost every sports outlet. I mean, we couldn't blame the man because he is indeed feeling that this might be his last chance to get at least one ring before he starts considering a retirement as he's already approaching his 40s as well.

And I don't view Melo as a liability because the man can still provide good contribution coming from the bench and while it's evident right now that the Suns is lacking role players before they gave a big portion of the roster just to get KD.

Yes, he can contribute to the team by any means that he can. Not just by playing but also by being one of the backbones of the team.
Since they're jam-packed with good players if they ever acquire Melo and are added to the team. They'll for sure going to give him some space and playing time as well.
But then, as you've said he's not going to be a liability but they have to consider on how much contract they're going to offer him.

They should start by pulling Melo from the free agency and give him a whole season contract, just for this season, to see if he can indeed be a big help to the team whenever there's a time that their main player need to rest or worse have an injury. Melo know that he's not the main man anymore, the man just want to play in the big league and partly, that is the reason why he didn't sign with the team that tried to acquire him abroad.

Lebron James, AD, and CJ are all questionable for this game. The best way to bet is when there is final news about these stars or even at game time. They're just too big of a factor in this game. IF CJ won't play and either Bron or AD can play then it is most likely that the Lakers will win. And take note that the Pelicans are only 10-18 when it comes to road games. If you want to bet now, the Lakers is the safest IMO. The Lakers are playing at home too.

I really love the Brooklyn Nets roster now as they are filled with roleplayers that are monsters when the chemistry is built. I might take the risk for them again just like yesterday against the Knicks.
I mean, I am not giving up on them yet and I can still see a lot of potentials if they will try to play with each other like they are teammates. No selfish plays, fewer isolations, and be a team. Coach Vaughn may be having a hard time with how he will rotate them, but it will be better to stick with the old plays and then use the newly acquired players as their second team. Don't try to mix things up because it gets worse. Focus on Cam Thomas as their main offensive guy because it worked.

Maybe just let Kyrie do most of the dribbling and Luka should work more on moving without the ball. Steph and Klay are pretty good at that which helped them win multiple rings so I don't see any problem with copying that formula for Luka. If none of them listens then maybe just let Kidd suit up as their point guard hehehe.

I don't see Luka moving away from the ball much...  This is because he's a big guy who isn't the most athletic.  He's never going to be running around like Steph away from the ball.  He'd be dead tired in 2 minutes. 

I can't help but laugh at "dead tired in 2 minutes". You're probably right on the current Luka. He looks more fit and faster two or three years ago.

I think it's just a bad pairing between two ball dominant players.

I said it before that one has to yield or give up something for this pairing to work well. The adjustment for Luka that I said is the doable solution I see. They will most likely "break up" by the end of the season if neither of them adjusts.

It's true that we wait and use the latest information and news about star athletes in a team or information about the progress of the team we are betting on can give us more confidence and sufficient information so that we are not wrong in choosing a team to bet on.
