The NBA went a really crazy trades in the last 48 hrs. The Lakers could've obtained Kyrie if the Nets did not demand too much for the trade. However, the Lakers have somehow upgraded their roster. I'm not sure how this will turn out for them but they've got shooters and rebounder. The most recent one they acquired was Mo Mamba, he's traded for Pat Bev.
On the other side, the Phoenix Suns immediately became the heave favorites to win the championship this year after acquiring KD. What a crazy big 4.

Man I love Pat Bev, he's such a sympathetic guy. Lakers made the right move though, sending a veteran to get a young Center looks like a good deal. Now this trade is understandable as they sent Thomas Bryant for almost nothing.
After this trade deadline I should check latest rosters to weigh positives and negatives as this is one of the busiest deadline days last years.

Yeah getting Bamba was a good move.  That along with theor other moves were definitely a net positive.  They finally got nba players who can shoot.  Beasley is going to be the most underrated move, dude can ball and will get a lot of run with the Lakers.  With what limited pieces they had I thought they dud well.

The surprise for me was Denver moving bones for 2 seconds.  Must have been a head case because the kid looks promising.  Was a great bench piece moved for 2 seconds.  Something was up there

Still digesting the Durant to Phoenix move. I wonder if Durant will buy a house in the valley…

One situation I can’t say I understand is that the Cavaliers are rumored to be considering buying out Kevin Love’s contract. He’s on the last year of his deal so I don’t know what they’d get from doing that and I’m sure Love isn’t going to take a massive loss on his contract to be a free agent a few months sooner. If he is bought out though, I imagine a contender will scoop him up. I think he’d be a good fit for the Warriors.
The same for me... I confess that Durant's departure was something totally unexpected!
I'm curious to know how these teams will be able to manage this player transaction.

Well, I'd like to see how Durant performs with the Suns.
Will he be able to play at a level above what he was before?

I wonder why teams just execute those trades right exactly at the trade deadline when in fact, the trading period for a season is long. Cheesy

Seems to me that some surprising trades that happened recently are a rush and it's like "whatever it takes", regardless of the odds. Now that the trade deadline is now close, we will now see how these teams that recently changed their roster will improve their respective position in the competition.

Well, I'd like to see how Durant performs with the Suns.
Will he be able to play at a level above what he was before?

Durant is already injury-prone and he will just join those injury-prone Suns players lol. Kidding aside, we don't know how he will perform as Booker is the no. 1 option on the team. But the good thing I can see here is, he will be a perfect match for Chris Paul, but not for Booker.

Warriors fans will be happy bringng back Gary Payton II back to the team.
On the other hand, John Wall return as well to the Houston Rockets,  Grin
Pat Bev traded to Magic, in exchange of Mo Bamba, I guess we have the answers now. After losing Thomas Bryant, now they got Bamba as a back up center for Anthony Davis. So the Lakers Flip Bryant, Russ and Pat Bev -> Mo Bamba, D’Lo, Beasley, and Vanderbilt.

They'll be tested once they already playing together I'm sure they'll find ways to make
Things workable in chasing  a ring, Booker and CP3 are longing to have a ring hopefully they'll going to adjust.

Nets, Suns Agree On Kevin Durant Trade
The Suns will acquire Kevin Durant from the Nets in exchange for Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson, four first-round picks and more draft consideration, tweets Shams Charania of The Athletic.
https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2023/02/nets-suns-agree-on-kevin-durant-trade.html

I'm quite sure that the Lakers can't afford that kind of trade because they doesn't have that much luxury anymore to give four 1st-round picks and a swap pick, and then giving away 3 players. But at least, Durant was traded to his preferred team as that's what he said last season.

Well, this time the Suns has a great chance of winning a championship. They mess up their chance before, but with Durant now, I believe they will b a better team. They have a great point guard who can also shoot, so having Durant and Booker will make them a very dangerous team.
Like I said earlier, the doors for the Suns towards a title is closing down that's why they pursued this trade and the good thing here is, they didn't gave any of their core players. Traded Bridges, Cam Johnson, Crowder and 4 draft picks to get KD. It's a huge win for the Suns with this one and with that, the Nets might now go to a rebuilding state again.

The Suns have 3 years to get a title. KD has 3 years left to his contract, CP3 is 37 years old already and Ayton? He might change after this one and be the same Ayton that we've seen during their playoff run. Booker is still Booker. The Suns are now a super team right now.

The problem with the Suns is injuries. Booker, CP3 and KD are injury prone. Is there any player with the team that can step up offensively if the worst thing happen and 2 of them are injured? I don't see anybody.

Well, I'd like to see how Durant performs with the Suns.

KD and Booker? A perfect duo. Cheesy

Both might be ball dominant players, and a score first players, but I believe there will be an adjustments that will be made just to make this super team to happen. The injuries really is the problem with the Suns right now. Yes they are a super team with 4 all-stars, but they're brittle. Brittle enough to ruin the team if 2 of these 4 will be benched for a long time because of injuries. Overall, let's see how this goes and things will not go the way they want, they will trade CP3 and probably Ayton next off-season.

Durant will likely be the lead scorer of the team as he is hard to defend due to his height. Also, Booker loves to move around, he drives the ball so that kick out will be solid since they have good outside shooters as well, that includes Durant IMO.

I am no worried about their chemistry because Chris Paul will always make it easier for everyone to play on the floor.
Look at the Suns when CP3 was not yet traded to this team, now they are looking better, and more so that they have added Durant already.

Yes, he made the Suns better, and before that, he made the Rockets better by taking them to the WCF, it's just sad that they fall short against the Warriors, probably because of the injury problem of Chris Paul. Also, we have to note that CP3 and Durant are both prone to injury, but let's hope they'll have a better journey this season especially in the playoffs so we can see what they can really do for the team.

It's that he is also prone to injury, maybe because of the wear and tear already and maybe this is the reason why the Nets are willing to trade him now to the Suns and get two young players.

Everyone's eyes is on the Phoenix team as they have upgraded obviously with the KD acquisition.

But still a long way to go whether to see KD blending with CP3.

And John Wall taking shit about the Houston Rockets on his last stint with them, unfortunately, he will be coming back so no love lost for him and the fans of the Rockets.

I guess the Lakers did great on the trading deadline, getting Mo Bamba is great as a back up center and then D'Lo as well to play as guard. So for me it's a win win for LA and this could be the final push for them for the playoff this year. We have witnessed Lebron breaking the record, it's time for them to at least make a run after the all star break.

The name Mamba is all related to Bryant, LOL.. they are keeping the vibes. Lebron is still playing with the Mamba, and this guy has a decent record though, so for sure as long as he is healthy, he'll be able to provide enough help for the Lakers. Westbrook is gone, we knew he will be traded due to his inconsistency, but we cannot deny he'll have a bigger chance of winning the 6th man of the year.

I’m reading reports now that the Warriors are or have (depending on the report) traded James Wiseman. I’m surprised by this. I thought he’d give them the athletic center they need, but I guess he didn’t fit into the system. I think if they gave him more minutes he could’ve been a much better player than he is viewed as and probably could have gotten them a better trade package, but it looks like they’ve given up on him. This opens a spot for Kevin Love…
What a crazy day. And this thread is going crazy too.  Grin My brain is all over the place now trying to remember all the trades that are happening.
@OgNasty, Wiseman was given minutes, in G-League. Cheesy

I am not sure what the Trail Blazers are trying to achieve. Future second-round picks? Dame is getting older, do it now! I bet that dude is frustrated again as this management is not giving him what he wants.

The Warriors might have seen how weak they are now on the defensive end especially against guards after the game yesterday versus the Blazers. Damian Lillard only made 1 field goal in long-distance shot and yet he made 33 points to win the game. That's not normal. It means he had been successfully attacking the paint in an easy path.

About Kevin Love.

No surprise for me at all.
He isn't fit for the whole Warriors team, and he doesn't fit to how the Warriors are playing right now. Like you said, he doesn't fit to the current system of the Warriors and that's true and that's why he's playing most of the time in the G-league affiliate of the Warriors instead of him playing in the NBA. A good thing that they traded him away.

Hell yeah!!!! As a Warriors fan, I'm happy that they got GPII again. I mean the crowd likes him because of his hustle on the court and his great defensive skills. Now that they got him again, at least there will be an upgrade with their defense because they are currently at the 18th spot.

After spitting some sh*t about the Rockets in one of the podcasts and how bad the culture is, John Wall just came back and playing with them as well. I don't know, but after his contract, his career will be over. He will be like Kemba Walker who is performing very well in one season and because of injuries, their career got ruined and ended. It will be the same thing with John Wall. He can't redeem himself when he's in Clippers. He's a liability to the team.

I'm quite surprised that after having a good season, they still traded Thomas Bryant. Mo Bamba is once the starting center of the Magic, but after having Wendell Carter Jr. they put him as a reserved big and then traded. I want Thomas Bryant to be the starting center of the Magic TBH because of how he played in the Lakers. Pat Bev to Magic? I remember he said something regarding him and D'Angelo Russell being with the same team again. Cheesy Just days after he said that, he got traded as well. Funny thing.

Anyways, for the complete list of the trades that happened this season, you can see it here:

Durant's trade is very exciting, the Phoenix Suns had a good chance to be champions. I hope Durant recovers soon and becomes a useful player for the team. If the Suns don't win this year, it will be much more difficult to become champions in the coming years.
The draft picks they've given and Durant's advanced age will create negative situations for them

Now that Irving and Durant have been traded, Brooklyn is likely out of the championship race.
That much is already known but they may still make it to the playoffs or in the play-in at least. Too bad the young guys won't have a mentor right now but Cam Thomas is enjoying his new role and has given the Nets over 40 points in three consecutive games.

Yup! and for me even though they have Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving on the team they would likely just be sitting on the play-offs but for me now that the Brooklyn Nets have seen the potential of Cam Thomas they will really going to improve the team revolving around that newcomer, but Cam Thomas and Edmond Sumner, but in getting Spencer Dinwiddie and Mikal Bridges Maybe they can revolutionize the Brooklyn Nets with just this team,

Quote
Meanwhile, I wonder if Jazz will improve now that they have Westbrook. Now that he is in Jazz, he could be potentially their main player as that is how Westbrook is. Maybe can have if not near or maybe half of his performance while he was still in OKC.
I honestly do not know. At least WB will be given more room to play his own style so hopefully that will benefit the Jazz.

WOW! Russell WestBrick is in the Utah Jazz that was surprising at all and I highly doubt if that will be OK for me the team really is struggling to win, and right now they will surely struggle even more, and I really doubt he could change something that is awful right now,

Yeah, he is nearing the verge of getting rid of him, Kevin Love is probably a 1-dimensional player and probably they want a versatile one now that he is getting out of the Cavaliers, but right now let's just wait for what may happen to him, he is now out of the rotation for the team and this could be a time for the Cleaveland Cavaliers to strike him out,

Yes. And I bet GPII is also happy about the trade. His salary went up and now he is back to his former team and perhaps he will perform better in the Warriors with their chemistry intact.

Quote
The Los Angeles Lakers continued their roster remodel on trade deadline day by sending Thomas Bryant to the Denver Nuggets in a four-team deal with the LA Clippers and Orlando Magic. Denver sends guard Davon Reed and a second-round pick to the Lakers and guard Bones Hyland to the Clippers as part of the deal.
https://www.nba.com/news/lakers-trade-thomas-bryant-to-nuggets
The Nuggets management also did a great job here. Hyland's skills are being wasted sitting on the bench and now this will give a great opportunity for him to show it in the Clippers uniform. While the Clippers just recently traded Reggie Jackson, Hyland will have more minutes. I do appreciate the Nuggets thinking about their players too while they are gaining more.

I think Phoenix Suns has the biggest advantage, well, Dallas has benefited on Irving trade but Durant is a different bread that Kyrie, he is more matured and has the size to dominate his opponents. We haven't seen him played yet though, although the Suns have the biggest names already, but it's the chemistry that is the most important.

CP3 might have his first championship this season. Smiley

Yes, they are, after this trade, most likely all eyes are on them and wanting to see how it gonna affect the growth of the Phoenix Suns now that KD is one of them. The Phoenix Suns were extremely lucky that they were able to climb to the NBA finals last 2 year ago last year was so tough for them that they even got knocked out by the Mavs and they are really working on it to not experiencing the same nightmare again by acquiring KD. But the question here is, how he will gonna be effective for the Suns? well, if they gonna reach the NBA finals again, they better work really hard and not spoil again their chance to win the NBA championship.
