LOL! Do people really believe that the Clippers will not benefit from acquiring Westbrook, and instead will struggle?

The odds should increase, not decline, but from what we are seeing, it seems like the bettors do not appreciate the decision of the Clippers to acquire Westbrook. Well, it's too early to conclude just yet. Let him play first, and then we will decide. As for me, I have a feeling that Westbrook will not be criticized with the Clippers; the opposite may happen.

If he will be a good fit for the Clippers, and he will perform better than what he was when he's in the Lakers, that odds will change that's for sure.

After his awful performance with the Clippers, bettors sees Westbrook a burden more than a benefit for the team. Let his performance when he come back do the talking. I myself doesn't have any high expectation for him as well even though many are saying that there's a chemistry between him and PG13 back when they are in the Thunder. That's a different story, and now they are on a different team already.

As for me, I still want Westbrook to be in the league for a couple of years or even more, so this is his opportunity. His chance to get back after him being bombarded with criticisms and bashes back when he's still a Laker. Him as their starter is a good idea still. Russ, Mann, PG13, Kawhi and Zubac? Just looking at it, they're really a good starting 5 if you will ask me.

The All-Star break is officially over and it’s time to get back to NBA basketball. TNT has us covered tonight with a doubleheader. First you have the Grizzlies and 76ers, which should be a really good game with hopefully some Ja Morant highlights. Then you have the game that I’ll probably watch between the Lakers and Warriors. LeBron came out and said he’s going to do everything he can to win the rest of their games and that starts tonight, so I’m expecting the Lakers to come out and give it their all.

When I was younger, I had to see the All-Star, but now I am starting to put it off. These days, regular games are more interesting than All-Star games. I did watch the McClung dunk replay several times.

My wager is on the Boston Celtics at -8.5 spread. But the best match ups later are Cavaliers-Nuggets, 76ers-Grizzlies, and the Lakers-Warriors. If the Lakers want to make the playoffs, Lebron and his team will need to bring it all the way in the remaining matches. The Lakers made significant trades during the break, so it remains to be seen whether or not they succeed.

How do you know that he will perform well in a new team? Just because he has played with Paul George means that he will blend with the whole Clippers team. And then we have the coach as well who will decide when he is going to play.

So we can't say that if he is going to do good with the Clippers just saying.

We have to look at how they are going to utilize him, as a point guard starting five or coming from the bench just like what he did at Lakers.

I’m not expecting much too on Russ that will perform better because we can safely say that he already passed his prime back in the days when he is on OKC. His role too is very hard to fit on an existing team that has a complete line up like Lakers and Clippers. He will just not show his full potential because he will just adjust on a position that he didn’t want which we all know that he is not good on doing.

I think he might be a good 6th man when Kawhi and PG is resting because he is still a good guard when up against young gen. He is still a good addition if he can blend in.

That's really the question with adding Russ to a current squad who got their prime stars, blending with another alpha and adjusting to what
the coach will ask him to do is really important.
If he can play well with the entire Clippers squad and manage to enjoy his stay, I see him taking an extra mile to achieve something
on his legacy.
Waiting for how he will perform and what specific position he will be taking when playing with the Clippers jersey.

That's why many doubt because many fans that he will became a liability of Clippers the same on what happen to him on Lakers. But if Westbrook proves that he's still the Mr. tripple double machine and can get back on that shape or maybe a little bit closer maybe his status on clippers will became different.

Westbrook's stats have dropped a lot since he signed a contract with the Lakers. Let me remind you that he made 10 triple-doubles in 78 games played last regular season, and this season the trend is even worse as he only made 4 triple-doubles in 52 games played. So he's no longer Mr. Triple-Double, and I don't expect him to be able to get back to the playing shape he was in during the 16/17th season.

Agreed he isn't and a lot of that will have to do with time.  He isn't going to get 35 minutes of run on the Clippers.  They don't need him to be Mr triple double.  Just someone who can come off the bench with a ton of experience to guide some of the younger guys during the playoffs.  Playoffs is a way different game then regular season.  This move is purely a playoff push move.  Who knows what he brings with a different (I know same arena) location and group of guys to run with.

I do not like it either. I think Mann is really doing good lately and he deserves to start with the Clippers. But I think WB role in the team was discussed during his meeting with Kawhi and PG. So, if they have agreed that WB will start, then that would be it. Hopefully, it will be a good decision.

It could not be a great decision for the Los Angeles Clippers to get a near-retiring Russell WestBrick, but right now I am seeing WestBrick making a great assisting play even though he is not scoring that much if Kawhi and Paul George have spoken his role for the Clippers then I think it is already settled and Russell WestBrick will surely debut for the LA Clippers on Friday,

This is Westbrook's last chance in redeeming himself and his NBA career. If he fails to deliver and help the Clippers and be a burden to a team, it might be the beginning of the end for his NBA career.

Forget about scoring if it's for Westbrook. The dude can't even shoot the ball. That's why he called Westbrick because he can't shoot the ball. Let the scoring be done by other players. They have Kawhi, PG13, Mann, Gordon, and some bigs as well that. I would love to see Westbrook to be a better player now that he's on a different team already. I'm a bit disappointed on how his career went down from the main star of the Thunder, to the 2nd best player in the Wizards, and he went to the Lakers, he's just an average player and worse, he became a bench player.

I hope that Coach Ty Lue already said to Westbrook that you must not shoot the ball, and just focus on assisting and playmaking.

I guess there's only one way left to find out and that is to see him playing with the Clippers with the likes of PG and Kawhi who is surely the baller and the alphas of the team. Adding Westbrook to the team may have a difference this time but his role will be the same and that is to give space and assist, just hopefully, this time he can do correctly because I agree, this will be his last chance to redeem himself. If not, then it's safe to assume that he will be in free agency with no teams getting interested.

Yes, coach Ty Lue has a big burden now, hehehe, he has 3 superstars and he needs to balance everything and see where Westbrook will fit in the Clippers rotation. He will be more fitting for that role, being the point guard and distributing the ball the way he did before.

He will still have the full reason to rectify and make himself look good and maybe he will be extended by the Clippers over next season. So he knows what is in stake with his new team and he should take that responsibility to help and contribute.

Problem with this does Westbrook can accept his new role? He might struggle to be the third guy in the team but for him to prove to that he can adjust for betterment of the team and shut up his many haters he need to accept what his new role so that he can blend well in Clippers.

Westbrook has so many things to prove since if he still fail on Clippers people will laugh at him and might he will not have a trade value anymore since many team might avoid him.

Oh I bet he will Westbrook doesn't have any leverage anymore to choose what role is the best for him or to reject a role that is offered to him as since he departed from OKC, his star power has been declining and that leaves him with no option but to adapt to the role that is given to him. Regarding from his recent failure, this time I think it will be better because he's not new about it anymore and probably he already accepted his fate.

Westbrook has damaged his legacy with the Lakers. You can't blame the fans for having high expectations from Westbrook, given that he was known for being a triple-double machine. However, it turns out his shooting has been at its worst. He was only somewhat useful when called on in the second unit, so the Clippers should think carefully about whether to start him, or at least give it a try.

Playing for the Lakers was a really bad time for Westbrook. We have seen a bad performance from a player who has been playing for so many years and can be called a star. I'm sad because he has such a statistic, he was a player who could play much better, but no matter what he did, he couldn't reach the level he wanted.
Maybe it will be good for him to start from scratch in a new team. We know that he was actually a very talented basketball player, he can go back to his old days

The way I see it, for Russ to really shine with the Clippers, he's gotta learn to blend in like a chameleon in the Amazon rainforest. And let me tell ya, that aint gonna be a walk in the park. He's gotta adjust his game style and fit into a team with established stars, and that's a tough gig right their. But don't count him out just yet, man. Dude's got some serious potential, and he could be a sik addition to the squad as a six man when the big dogs are catching some zzz's. And who knows, with some guidence and support, he could blow us all away and become a straight-up baller in a startin position. But lets not get too hyped up, ya dig? We gotta give the dude some time to adjust and find his grove.

Fans are waiting patiently what would be the outcome of Durant's trade to the Valley of Suns and fortunately, we already have a date about it as he will likely make his debut on the road versus Charlotte Hornets.

Currently, the Suns is on the 5th seed of the West and just a game away from the 4th seed which is occupied by the LA Clippers. The next couple of weeks will be fun as the West is starting to get tighter because of the recent trade.

Seeing how Suns is 5th in the west, it looks like they are not in a rush to bring Durant in right away. They could take their time and make sure that he is %100 before they can play him, because at this moment even though he would improve the team a lot, they do not need improving at this exact moment.

It's important that he plays a good chunk of games before the playoffs, so they can get used to each other, but aside from that they can make it to playoffs without him so there is no need for him right now, just need him to get used to the team. I believe next Wednesday is fine, it would allow him to get better, and he could play much better that way.

I agree, there was a big hype on Chicago when DeRozan was acquired, and then their piece it out together with Ball and Vecuvic but to be honest, it didn't work as designed as they are not that consistent in winning games.

They even acquired Dragic if I'm not mistaken, and then now Pat Bev and I do not see this two veterans bringing more to the table. They probably be patches and we all know that it won't work that way.

This is normal to happen to some players.
I believe that from then on, the trend is for Westbrok's performance to decline, an extremely relevant factor is his age, Westbrook (34 years), at this advanced age, it is unlikely that he will return to his prime.

With Lakers taking him was quite late I guess, they were already on losing streak during that time IIRC but CMIIW.

But it's true that when he's in with the Lakers, many have hoped and became optimistic of his addition there. And I think wherever he goes while he can still do it, majority will have the same thoughts of excitement for his new teams.

Whether the fans like it or not, the Clippers see his worth when he's added to the roster.

I cannot blame these bettors anyways. There's a reason why the Lakers have been trying hard to unload Westbrook even before the start of the season due to his declining stats. Westbrook is really not that bad of a player, but his $46 million salary this year made him bad. The Clippers made a huge gamble because if Westbrook performs well, they will have the advantage of re-signing him again and they can also let him go next season if he becomes unwanted. At least the Clippers' gamble is only good for a year although still very costly.

Not costly at all. His contract is veteran minimum since the Jazz bought him out already. The Clippers are taking very little risk while giving a chance to Westbrook to showcase his strength when not under heavy criticism by fans. Maybe he will improve Clippers, maybe not. But this is his chance that he still deserves a good contract in NBA.

Hopefully then can blend together because they really are one of the teams you need to watch out this season. They are already a contender team before they acquire Durant. And now that they have him, they are more dangerous. What I only see the problem will be is their defense. With only 23 games remaining, and with their better roster now compare to where it was before trade deadline, do you think that the Lakers will clinch the playoffs this regular season? What is the ceiling for this new Lakers roster this season?

I mean they have a chance. They are on the 13th seed right now, but the are only 5 games behind the 4th seeded Clippers. That's how tight the Western Conference right now. This is the tightest competition that I've ever seen in the Western Conference.  For me, I see them clinching to a play-in spot and the highest that they might probably get is the 8th seed.

I think having Durant, no doubt will boost their chances in the West, but still we wanted how they are going to fair with other strong teams in their division specially the Nuggets.

The match up will be great, Gordon could either work on Booker or Durant and then Murray against CP3.

The Lakers will probably have to win 15-16 games of their remaining 23 to get in the playoffs. That may not even be enough, it might only get them to the play in game. They have a chance and a lot still believe in Lebron. It's 50/50 IMO.
