I’m a little bummed to hear that Kevin Love is going to sign with the Miami Heat. I’d really hoped to see him reunite with LeBron in Los Angeles or I think he would’ve been a great addition to the Warriors. I think Westbrook signing with the Clippers should be good. He’s got history with Paul George and Kawhi wanted a point guard so that seems like a decent fit.

Oh, I thought that he loves to play with Dame in Portland. For the Lakers though, it seems that they are loaded with Kevin Love's position so doesn't make sense for them to sign him.

It's interesting though that Miami is interested with Kevin at this point, he could be used for his experience for sure specially his outside 3 which I think is still very effective for Love's position and his age. Just spot shooting without having to go and bang himself every game till the end of the season.

I wish it was going back to East vs. West and players wear their own teams jerseys. Team selections before the game was exciting though. We can say that's a good progress in this format.
First half was decent. Giannis only played for 20 seconds. LeBron's dunk was amazing. 3-pt contest champion Dame Dolla missed 7 in a row. Everybody scored except De'Aaron Fox. Kyrie and Tatum take the game more seriously. We'll see who wants to be MVP in second half though, I'm expecting LeBron to score more. We are watching an average All-Star game so far. I hope second half will be better.

I also think it was better when it was east vs west. All-stars are not fun to watch anymore. Some parts are of course good still but still we don't usually see something special from the best players of the world. Most parts of the game are just like random players don't defense and play aimlessly. It is not so different from regular people playing. The same thing happens every year. 3 quarters of free shooting practice. The last quarter with a bit of defense the game looks like something. Empty dunks and stuff are still boring, but these incredible long-range three-pointers, super passes and stuff give me pleasure even this way. For example, lebron, almost 40 years old, makes alleyoop with the pass he got from jokic, other than that, he throws alleyoop from the left of the opponent and makes himself an alleyoop from the board from the right. Nevertheless, I think NBA should still come up with something good for all-star games. This is not enough at least for my point of view for basketball.

Agreed.  In years past at least some of the game defense was played.  I get it that no one wants to get hurt but just watching everyone ball hog and chuck up 3s is a little boring.  Give me the 1980s and 90s all star games any day over these.  Taytum scoring 55 is embarrassing for the other team.  I like the east vs west and the winner gets home floor for the finals.  At least gives these guys something to play for.

I still can't get used to this new all-star game thing. Not the points, not the quarters, not the system, not the way players are picked, none of that. Those are fine by me, in fact, picking players on the court like this season was actually quite fun, I had so much fun betting about it with friends, it was definitely fun.

However, one thing that is certain is that this "no-defense at all" all-star of the past decade or so, is actually quite horrible. I know I sound like an old guy and this has been going on for a while, it has been YEARS since there was any defense, but I just can't like this, it's really a horrible thing and definitely bothers me a lot.

I do not think that it is as bad as it looked, for a while the first two quarters were not that great, but after that Tatum really made it interesting to be fair. That is the reason why "no defense" could be considered alright, I dislike it that's true, but if you are going to give me this great of performance on offense then suddenly I would be fine with no defense. At one point Lillard had a three from behind the half court line, I get that he is famous for long range shooting but half court? Wowww, that was something amazing and entertaining and I really enjoyed some of the moves and the baskets and it was great to watch, specially second half.

I thought so too, Lebron has the power to pull his brother into their team but I think they didn't try.
Well, Miami Heat, might actually be a good landing area for Kevin Love as the Heat had been undermanned a lot of times due to injuries, he might gain some minutes here. They don't really have a big man on the 3 or 4 positions like him unlike with the Cavaliers so this will be a good addition, and as far as offense, Love is still a big threat at post-up and distance shots.

And for Westbrook, they're just now finalizing the buyout with the Jazz and he'll go along with Paul Geroge and Kawhi.

I hope that silence Westbrook's critics thinking no one wants him. Before, I think even in this thread, there are people who think that no teams in the league right now that want Westbrook without realizing that he's still versatile and quick and still a big asset on any team.

With the Clippers, I do sure that he will blend here smoothly since he already knows playing with Paul George back in their OKC days.

Aside from that, Westbrook already knows how to adjust to new teammates and for sure he won't be a big burden on Clippers.

WB landing on a contender. It will be a slap to the face of the Lakers who treated him as a scapegoat if he performs well and help the clippers land a championship. Hopefully, Coach Ty Lue can devise a way to maximize the skills of Westbrook. I think he will not be a starter but WB will be a great addition coming from the bench.

I'm not disappointed with the all stars, actually it was expected that it will be like that.

It's just a showmatch and no defense will happen because everyone is just going to show their great scoring. And, it's already done, so there's really no need for me to have some disappointing thoughts about it.

I've just enjoy the whole show and we've seen some of them have been gone too early because it's not really their priority.

Lebron did not play in the second half because of an injury. It is too bad since in the second half, his team needs his leadership. Team Giannis poured threes from everywhere. I think it was Dame who even made a half court three. Tatum does not seem to miss from the 3-point area. Team Giannis created a big lead in the 3rd quarter that made it hard for team Lebron to overcome in the 4th quarter.

They showed the injury moment after my post. It was painful to watch. I hope he's okay now.
Tatum, Lillard and Mitchell was amazing in second half. Congrats to Tatum for breaking the record. It's not really different than watching 3-point contest now though. That style of play kinda kill the excitement. As a fan of late 90's and early 00's it's hard to accept the game of this new era.

He's good when he was still with the Lakers and adjusted with the authority Lebron has got from that team.
I am also thinking that he'll be able to assure the other new teammates from the Clippers that he'll also be adjusting quickly from them.
The Clippers will take him because they know that he'll be even be there to help them up maintain their position currently in the stats.

No chance for the Lakers and reunite with Lebron. He will just be benched there since they are overloaded with wing players already.
It's good that the Heat got him because they are lacking some wing defenders on their roster. At least his height will still be a big help for an additional depth of the team.

As for Westbrook signing with the Clippers, I just don't want the fact that he might be a starting point guard of the team. Of course he is a very good pass-first player, but his shooting and decision making is what makes him worse. If this will not work well with the Clippers, they will just bench him and give limited minutes and give more minutes to Mann who is their point guard before the trade happened. One thing more, I don't like to see Westbrook, PG13 and Kawhi as their new Big 3 because Westbrook isn't a reliable player. Just the duo is fine.

That KD trade really affected all the top teams in the West that they are getting players on the buyout market that will have a positive effect with the team.

He will not be a burden but will be a big threat, they don't really need shooters because that's covered by Powell, PG13, Gordon, and Batum. They will need his aggressive skills to spread the floor more and give the shooters a good look at the three-point line.

It's too early to tell if the hype will match the reality. The excitement was high when Westbrook was traded to the Lakers, but it could end up being a disaster, so we cannot assume that he will do well with the LA Clippers. They now have their own Big 3, and it's the first time that Leonard has played with two real superstars, so there will be an adjustment period. Nevertheless, it's worth risking a bet on the Clippers to win a championship.

I saw some post dropping the viewership for the slam dunk contest and it's said that it was around 520M views. This was just for the first 12 hours of the contest. McClung did really contributed a lot and added intense for that slam dunk contest.

He might also get a problem on LA Clippers since Kawhi is there and George they are the primary option on the rotation of Clippers so I don't think Westbrook will still fit in that knowing that he used to be the main guy on the team. We already see his performance decline so bad on Lakers and this might go repeat in Clippers if he can't adjust on his new role. This is big challenge for Clippers on how they can work out with Westbrook if this deal will finalized.
