The Lakers lost by 37 points, and I would even say they were destroyed by the Nuggets. LeBron scored 25 points, Westbrook scored 19 points and had 0 turnovers, and even Howard played in the starting lineup. However, it doesn't matter since Jokic made a triple-double in this match, and the Lakers couldn't handle him.
Actually, I think the Lakers needed a beatdown by 50. you know, they were just standing in the defense, no spirit at all. If you look, they had Frank Vogel, the best coach, But now it wasn't enough. The match was really frustrating to watch as a Lakers fan. It was almost like LeBron James vs the Nuggets match. On the other hand, Nuggets had 32 assists against 21 of Lakes. It really shows the team effort. Lakers are always exposed every time they play a good team or a playoff team. Sometimes they'll have some winning streak but only against a weaker team and we should not be misled by what they show because they are as a team are messing up this season. How could management have so quickly dismembered and dismantled a world championship team? This is the worst defeat of the Lakers ever to Denver. Very bad defense from Lakers. I mean some years ago they lost at home with Lebron James elegantly on the bench waiting for the LA Derby against the Clippers two days later They've done the wrong decision on trading their key players for Westbrook, they have a big 3 but it's not working as one could either be injured and the other are not synching to the system of the Lakers. They are in trouble this season, not sure if they can still fix that big problem. You're certainly right, that was their big mistake as they trade 5 of their keyplayers just for Westbrook alone and they were fine before Westbrook was included in the equation. Also, the fact that they let Caruso and Caldwell-Pope go was indeed a very bad idea as they can be more flexible and useful in times like these so that LeBron can do his own attacks and doesn't carry the team too often.

There is a competitive game tonight which is between Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz. Jazz have six more wins than Nuggets now and there are two teams between them in the standings. And Jazz are at the third place now even though they lost their last four games. They are facing a really terrible period now. And they want to put an end to it by winning this game. But Nuggets is a tough nut to crack these days in their home games. They won their last 3 home games which is the reason. But we'll see.

They are even worse than the LA Lakers' Nash, Kobe, and Dwight. They don't play enough defense. They are relying on their offensive play which doesn't make enough impact either. That Laker line up that became a champion in 2020 could still dominate this season. Too bad they changed their roster completely after the playoffs. Those key players the Lakers traded has been doing great to their respective teams. While everyone who get into the Laker roster has always been struggling except for LeBron.

Even Lakers are clearly struggling this season, I'm still putting my hopes for them to change for good later on. That embarrassing loss against the Denver Nuggets by a big lead should now serve as a wake-up call for the whole organization that they need to do something. I'm even happy that they lose that much since I'm sure they will do something next time not to experience that embarrassing loss again. I hope so.

They lost by that much because they aren't really good. Their age is showing, just getting out played and outplayed in all of their games. This team will make the playoffs but just won't have enough juice to win anything unless AD is healthy and featured. He needs to be the focus of the offense when he gets back.

The Minnesota - GSW game tonight could be a good one. I regret to say that Stephen Curry won't play as he is having a hand injury and not expected to return before January 18. But Thompson is likely to play in this game. After a long break, this is going to be his first game without Curry beside him if I'm not wrong. But it is doubtful whether he has fully adapted to the game tempo. But we will see it in the game. Whether he is or not, I think the winner still will be GSW.

Yes, you are right, it's his first game with his splash brother and I hope he will play better. However, I don't expect that Thompson will score like 30 to 40 points here, he is still not 100% yet but hopefully, I'm wrong with my expectation because I would be happy with that.

Miami Heat - Philadelphia 76ers game was an interesting game as in the first half Heat were more dominant and 76ers were struggling a lot but in the second half, totally the opposite happened. Joel Embid scored only 7 points in the first half and 3 out 11 field goals, while the surprise rookie Omer Yurtseven did a good job defending him and he was a great force at the offense. But the second half Embid found his good game and scored 25 points. The heat had a very bad night in the offense. Especially Jimmy Butler, who had 1 out of 11 field goals. Sixers played strong and showed that they are a force to reckoned with in the east.

That's the inconsistency of Butler, unlike Embiid where he can make an adjustment easily and will bring a win for the team. I was also surprised with a good start of the Heat, was thinking they'll beat the Sixers, but disappointment came later in the game. Sixers winning without Simmons, so it's safe to say they have a adjusted their system already without him and that needs for him to get traded soon.

Lakers had one of the worst games I have seen this year and that says a lot coming from a team with 20+ losses already. They are now under 50% as well and still at 7th seed because west is weak this year but they are certainly looking like a terrible team. I do not know how they can recover from this, I have zero clue how they will get better, but if they don't, there will be some sort of a problem in the long run. Lebron doesn't want to carry this team anymore, it just doesn't make sense for him to fight this hard during the regular season, he should be relaxing a bit because he is getting older. Dude expressed that he wants to play with his son, or at the very least against him, and by the time his contract is over with Lakers, if they are still this horrible then he will leave and player whoever drafts his son. Lakers tried something and its failing, they can't just trade westbrook away with such a big contract, it will be very bad, and they can't get a decent player because of lack of cap space as well.

Rumor has it that he's one of the main reason why they sold many of their young cores just so he could get a team of experienced or veteran players. I don't think that's unfounded. He probably thought him, AD and another "superstar" like Westbrook is enough to compete in the league. Lakers took the league lightly and look where they are now.

I'm curious about how well Klay Thompson will be able to play tonight in the absence of Curry due to injury. In the end, Thompson is still not in a good shape as he is newly adapting to the games again. But we saw how Golden State Warriors demolished Chicago Bulls in a game that Curry played very poorly and Thompson was rested. Therefore, I wonder whether we will see the same team play in the worst case. If it happens, then there is another victory in line for them against Timberwolves tonight.

Agree. Even if we see the Lakers are performing worst, they will still reach the playoffs. But the question is, how can they able to compete in a series match if there are lots of consistency at almost, most of them. I also expect, as mentioned by the other user here above, that their worst big loss this season against the Denver Nuggets will fuel the fire for them to become a competitive team again. They will always be in the news for every of their losses compare when winning.

Maybe the Warriors will just keep Klay Thompson if they are against a team that surely they can handle. Thompson might not be in good shape but he needs to play the actual game to fully regain his usual self. The best strategy I think is, to let Klay plays against these teams on lower standings. Not that it's a soft competition between these teams but in that way, Klay will slowly regain his usual performance.

There are reports that prior to the NBA season, Westbrook told the Lakers that he will allow be a backup for Lebron and Davis. Actually, he's trying his best but I don't know why he is struggling. It's just that maybe he isn't ready yet as a backup on which it's not his usual gameplay? He is a main scorer on his previous teams and switching to different role might really be a big adjustment that's not easy to do by Westbrook.

Ben Simmons rumors are heating up... I'm hearing that Sacramento might be willing to deal Fox now and that they might also be willing to take Harris' contract which is a bit ridiculous. There's also supposedly a 3rd team that will be involved, but we'll have to wait and see. Interesting that Simmons to Sacramento seems to keep coming back into play. I think he really wants to be in California and is willing to play for the worst team in California to try and make that happen. It seems like Fox is probably the best player that they'll be able to get back as well, so I think that is ultimately what the end result will be.

There is no doubt that they will be able to reach the playoffs even if they need to go through the play-in tournament again. However, it seems to me the Lakers will most likely lose in the first round of the playoffs again if they meet teams like the Suns, Warriors, or Grizzlies. Unfortunately, the Lakers keep showing that they can't compete against top teams.

Daryl Morey. He is the fox. I think he wants to include Tobias Harris so he could get Haliburton. That guy had been playing well in being the playmaker of the Sacramento Kings and even with his awkward shooting style, he can drop long-range shots. "Don't want to waste Embiid's prime." That's what I heard so it's now or never. He wants to surround him with as many good players as he could so they will be able to defeat teams like the Nets. Simmons might find his new home before the trade deadline.

Good thing that the Utah Jazz has won the game today since Memphis has taken their place last time. These two teams will likely compete in the playoffs and that would be the best play we could ever watch before they faced the GSW or SUNS. We are close to All-Star weeks, after that, the games will be more intense.

I thought initially that if they are going to get Simmons, they are going to partner him with Fox in Sacramento. But it seems that they have change their narratives? But I think its a win win for both teams specially if they will include Tobias Harris in the trade. Again, dealing Harris is for long term for the Sixers as they will clear their salary cap enough to get another big names in the future.
