Team Lebron won the All-Star game as I predicted. But it ended by a really close score like 163-160. And I didn't know that there was a thing like that the side to reach 163 points first wins the game. The game would have been more boring if Stephen Curry especially didn't put on a great show here. He got 50 points and scored 16 three-pointers which was really insane. It was like he scored three-pointers from everywhere and showed how great player he was. He is one of the legends for me already.

With what we saw, I think there's no more debate on who is the greatest 3 point shooter of all time. Curry maybe not be in the top 1 yet per record, but eventually he will break that record and own the top 1 spot. Curry is still young and as long as he is remains healthy, he can continue to generate points especially from the 3 point line.

He is already the greatest 3 point shooter that we have seen in the NBA and will continue to pile up more 3 points in his career that it's going to be very difficult to break. And the thing is that he knows how to position himself, to go around screens and that's what makes him un-guardable and can shoot anywhere he wants, there is no range for this guy.

He had a good stats because this is an all star game, you can tell that the defense is not so much prioritized, they are just having fun and Curry just did what he usually do in the practice, the guy is really gifted and it's effortless for him winning the trophy.

While I do understand that an all-star game has little to no defense at all, you can never discount the potential and skill of Steph Curry making 16 threes throughout the entire game.

What makes this more interesting is that he made all of those 3s in different types (e.g. off the dribble, corner, beyond the arc, catch and shoot, etc.). I mean he is just very exciting to watch and he literally changed on how players play the game of basketball. An open three-point to him is equitable to a lay-up- just effortless and easy.

Some players played very little time in the All-Star Game. I wish there was a fairer distribution. Constantly trying three-pointers in a match makes it very boring to watch.
Chris Paul, who played only two minutes in the All-Star Game, was injured. It has been announced that he will be away from the courts for at least 6-8 weeks. It is very important for him to heal until playoffs because he is one of the most important parts of the team. He was injured in his hands before. I hope he can get over this injury and play at full capacity in the playoffs.

Gone are the days when slam dunk contests have always been the most awaited thing during the all star weekend. It's really far from the usual and exciting slam dunk contest that we've watched and waited in the past years. Maybe they'll do better next year. But still, I have to congrulate Obi Toppin on his win.

It's gone because of social media and lots of street dunkers uploading their videos that make the dunks in the NBA looks childish. Though you cannot compare the two because those dunks on the streets took many attempts to be perfected but they uploaded their perfect dunks which makes the NBA slamdunk contest uninteresting to watch. nevertheless, the selected players have done their best this year, and look like they gonna changed the mechanics this year with this result.

The caliber has changed because of what we've seen in the past. It's no doubt that there's so much better competitors in the past when it comes to the dunk contest. I don't know with the street dunkers but I know that it's a different level when it comes to street basketball and they're more entertaining. We just have to accept the matter that many have raised their eyebrows on this but they should do better for the next all star dunk contest to reach the fans satisfaction level or they don't have to do that as if that's already their quality.

In case you missed the possible inspiration of his performance, he doesn't want to be embarassed and disappoint the people in the charity He was raising money for a charity in Cleveland. Apparently he's going to give them money for the equivalent of points/shots he'll make in the all-star game.

• $1,000 for every point scored
• $3,000 for every 3-pointer
• $10,000 if he won All-Star Game MVP.

All in all, that's equivalent to a $108,000.

Well, allstar game is literally just became for entertainment sole purpose only since the 2000's.
Though I remember one time, there was a competitive allstar game (I forgot what year was it), but the game actually starts early like the usual showmanship with no defense, but in the 4th quarter things suddenly became competitive. Kobe was still living during that time If I'm not mistaken.

I actually hate betting on allstar games, I feel like I'm throwing away my money for nothing lol.

This was something I talked with my friend, I mean yes there is less defence but he made some shots that were insane. First of all he was defended whenever he was around the three point line, not like he wasn't defended, and the ones that he didn't get too much defence were like a foot in the half court line, he shot from 40 feet multiple times. I just wish he scored that half court shot as well because that would be stupidly great.

Defence or no defence, that 16 made threes is something that is insane, hell even 27 threes taken is something that is unheard of, that alone is great and shows confidence. It was obvious that Curry would be out there dominating if you give him that flying zone availability.

At the end of the day you have to respect the players.

The players clearly don't want to get injured and hurt their teams' chances. It is clear that a lot of these players are All-Stars for a reason and their departure could spell doom for their respective teams.

They keep messing with the format and talking about how great it is...  I actually think it sucks.  A few changes have made the All Star game more fun for the players and to generate more revenue for advertisers, but little is done with consideration to the game itself being legitimate in any way.  Sure, the added money for charities makes it appear as though the focus is about getting the players to play harder, but I think people overestimate how much $100K means to a team of multimillionaires. 

Personally, I think they need to make a couple of little tweaks to the game to make it more fun.  For starters, get rid of this idea that the game is 4 separate quarters.  Nobody cares about the quarters, they care about the final score.  Secondly, the players don't give 2 shits about $100K for their charity as a combined team.  That's almost insultingly low compared to how much money the event generates for how much they push the charity narrative.  Third, get rid of the draft.  That's total bullshit.  People want to see East versus West not LeBron versus Durant.  Fourth, get rid of the All Star jerseys.  Back in the day when each player represented their own team, it was great to see out there.  I miss it.  Lastly, make the game actually mean something.  An idea would be to give the winning side (East or West) home court advantage in the NBA Finals.  That would get these players sweating out there...

There's no such thing as LeBron vs Durant. The team's respective Captain will be chosen based on the total number of votes. That's why in the first year of that new format, it was Team LeBron vs Team Steph because they are Top 1 and 2 respectively on getting the most number of votes. Then there's a time it was Team LeBron vs Team Giannis and so on.

Fourth, get rid of the All-Star jerseys.  Back in the day when each player represented their own team, it was great to see out there.

I disagree that it should affect the format of the NBA Finals in general. NBA All-Star is pure entertainment wherein the road to Finals is a serious one. There's no competition on the All-Star game for several years now and we can just see a tight game during the last quarter or if the game is now nearing the end of the regulation.

We should never expect a close competition in NBA All-Star game.

I will give you an example, Lebron got 9,128,231 votes on the frontcourt. Karl-Anthony Towns is on the 8th spot with 1,601,695. Do you really think KAT will have an equal playing time to Lebron?

That was a fan voting method where it contributes to 50% of the factors of choosing the selected starters. In NBA All-Star, fans are deciding who they like to see. There will be no equal playing time for each player there.

About three-pointers, the whole game was changed already. Watch it or leave it.

In the All-Star events last night, the dunk contest wasn't very impressive actually. Toppin won the contest very easily as the other candidates weren't that much effective. Especially one of Toppin's dunks was really delightful to watch. Congrats to him on his prize! And the 3-pointer contest was much more exciting than this. Karl-Anthony Towns was the best by making it to 29 points. The closest rivals stayed at 26 the most and Towns won the prize. And tonight, it is time for the big All-Star game!

Many would not be amazed with his dunks as they look simple and normal. But I agree that they're really delighting as I'm watching those dunks that he has made.

It's not the same with the past dunk contests held yearly in the past. The blast is different and it's understandable that many doesn't see it as good as the others in the past.

Crowd is there for sure, but as far as creativity, just a so-so dunk contest for me. Not sure if the players in this contest has prepared or what but we need to have a winner so it is Obi for this year.

And Jalen was a bit disappointment, I thought we will see some new dunks from him. But he looks like he is not into this contest and just trying to go with the motions.

I have to agree with you. Even with defense or not, his shooting ability is insane.

He's just throwing it everywhere and hitting shot successfully. There's no other player who can do that with the same skills. His record is hard to break now.

That's what it should be and we are glad to watch it yesterday and even more proud for Steph since he has that inspiration to boost his performance and finally won the All-Star MVP. Tomorrow we are back with the games and this is where the real fun begins since those teams that still have the chance to snatch a spot in the top 10 will play well and sometimes might get to where they want to. Both the top 12-15 are still close and if they managed to get some straight wins, they can snatch it from the other teams that are struggling.

Some NBA fans are making a fuss about it but it's all just about Doncic wearing the Jordan Brand, that's why. Also, MJ had a history of loving Mavericks players and another name is Dirk Nowitzki back then.
Luka will be the Mavs franchise player like Dirk, I don't think Mark Cuban would just let him go like what the gossipers think.
