I'm really sure that Ja Morant already did some self evaluation and reflected to the things that he had done in the past like holding a gun and going in some strip club, the 8 games suspension serves as lesson for him not only to become a better NBA player but also be a better model to his fans. His past offense are serious and the NBA did a good action because it can affect a lot of lives because he is considered as influential person. I saw his interview earlier where the interviewer ask if he's the owner of the gun or not and he replied saying "the gun wasn't mine and I don't condone any type of violence". Anyway he prove that he is really the man by saying he take full responsibility of what happened. I hope that Ja will not repeat this kind of behavior because there is a high chance that we could not see Ja morant again in the NBA.

I think considering that AD would be carrying the load and Lebron is missing games, it was a wise decision to rest him on this game. Rockets are a team that is tanking and they "should" be losing games, of course they end up winning some games but usually they are looking to be the team with the most losses so that they could get a good chance to have a good draft pick.

This is why it is really not that much of a bad idea to rest AD on this game, Lakers should be able to win, not only because they have a better team even without AD, which they do, but because we are talking about a team that is trying to win versus a team that is trying to lose.

He already has that swag, and he do for entertainment, but the thing is that most of his team mates might have inherited that's why they are one of the most hated team right now.

For the NBA, not sure, just a slap in the wrist for him, 8 games suspension and that's it.

That extra spot at 9th and 10th is not really that big of a deal. Could someone replace the 8th? or even 7th? Sure why not, I am not saying that's impossible, but at the same time, do you think that team would see second round? I highly doubt that it could happen, we are going to end up with the first and second seed destroying them, possibly sweeping them so it doesn't even matter if Lakers goes to playoffs, because they will lose. The very best case being a first round exit, the worst being play-in loss is not really the way Lebron should have his last years, Lakers either needs to do something, or at least let him go to a good team.

Suns (4th) and Pelicans (12th) have only 4 win difference, that's super close. I don't remember any season like that recently.
Let me show you how close it is with an example. Mavericks were almost certain to make the playoffs but they've taken 3 losses in a row and are currently out of the play-off table. If Lakers match with Mavericks there's really no point to be in play-in tournament. But if they match with Thunder or Twolves they have a fairly good chance. That doesn't change the fact that they would be swept by Nuggets or Grizzlies anyway.

Agreed I haven't either.  The last week or so of basketball is going to be so exciting.  From a home court 1st series to getting knocked into the playin game can happen in one week.  Parity is good in the league right now.  I don't kmwo if it's because the talent pool is diluted or the teams are just that even in terms of skill set.

They basically gifted this win to Rockets and lost a good advantage. Without both AD and LBJ Lakers hardly win matches. Maybe GM thought they can beat Rockets anyway but that was a wrong calculation. Thunder, Mavs and Timberwolves must be very happy now.

I watched first half of Clippers game and never thought Curry to score 50. Marcus Morris was ejected but Draymond got away with his first technical foul. I see he finished the game. From the looks of the first half it was clear that Clippers would win the game. No surprise for me. It's crazy teams score 260 points in a game without overtime. The game changed too much.

Yes, even gamblers was disappointed with that Lakers lost, I mean it's a tanking team and it's really a winnable game for them. But they show up empty in the first quarter, bad shooting from D'Lo and Malik as this could have been a easy W for them. But instead a very flat Lakers shows, giving the young Houston any resistance at all. And even if Austin put up a good game, others didn't step up, they are just standing there, no effort to get that rebounds as they allow the Rockets to score and grab rebounds very easy specially in the first half. Now they are down to 10th place and again, another must win in their next match.

In contrary for the most speculations of Ja Morant regarding that live he did while holding a gun in a club somewhere in Denver, the NBA found Ja Morant not guilty for bringing a gun in the aircraft towards Denver as NBA prohibits carrying deadly firearms and drugs to any NBA property. Well, I cannot say that I'm glad for Morant because even if he's not guilty, he should know by now that any selfish deeds always will result into a heavy consequence especially if it's proven guilty.

NBA and Commissioner Adam Silver really is a softie. He takes these serious crimes very lightly. 8 game suspension? What's even worse is within that 8 game suspension, he included the 5 games where he is out so he is suitable to return on the 20th against the Mavericks.

Well, for the Grizzlies fans, they loved what they saw, but for other NBA fans (like me), 8 game is kind of not enough for what he did. I mean he is the face of the Grizzlies, the face of Powerade as he has an advertisement there and has a contract with Nike. He must've face more game suspension.

On the flip side, I just hope that he will come back stronger, and will not do what he did last time. I mean that incident alone almost caused him almost a $200 Million Contract. Doing it or at least the same might have some bad problems with regards to his NBA career. Good that he's back even though the Grizzlies aren't struggling really even he's out.

When I first read the article, I thought that the NBA is giving Ja Morant an additional of 8-game suspension despite of the result of their investigation about what happened on the plane and in Denver but when I saw that he is already eligible to play in March 20 against the Mavericks, I realized that those 4 games reported much earlier are already part of the 8-game suspension.

But the Mavericks are not yet giving Ja Morant some playing time this 20th as per coach Taylor Jenkins, but I think that's just for show that the Grizzlies are not delighted by Morant's when in-fact they needed him as soon as possible but because of the issue, they can't just let Morant play because the franchise will suffer. Hopefully, this is just the start of their winning streak, even though the Pistons aren't a big challenge. It's still a great start for the team!
