I'm surprised no one posted this yet on this thread.  About Derrick Rose is Retiring. The youngest NBA MVP. If Derrick Rose hadn't been injured, his playing style might have been like Russell Westbrook. And for sure he can carry a team for NBA Championship. It is sad that Derrick Rose has not won any championships in his career. Remember the super team in Cleveland that didn't work. Wade, D. Rose, Love, IT and James 2017-18 NBA season.

First it was Grizzlies waiving his contract and now, it's just the recent about his retirement. He even posted a cryptic video on his socials.

Well, he doesn't have an extravagant retirement and many probably are surprised with his announcement. He can enjoy his life with his family.

That's what retirement is for or he can pursue other things and continue his love and passion for the ball.

In short he is not NBA ready, and for sure they will be rough against him. I can't imagine other players, even rookie or sophomore trash talking Bronny, as we have found out that he shouldn't be in the league for now, but because he is the son of Lebron, Lakers have no choice but to get him.

So I'm anticipating him like guarding lots of young players like him, like Jalen Green for example of the Houston Rockets. And if Bronny but any chance guard this kid, then there could be some trash talking and it will be good to see what will be the reaction of Bronny. 

Bronny has his whole career ahead of him. He just entered the major league and it is difficult for him to adapt to everything new. Let the boy get used to the new circumstances and then the game will go up. Not everything at once. Yes, there may be difficulties at the very beginning, but this goes away with experience. So do not pay attention to this now. Let everything go its own way and there is no need to rush things.

We never know what future will be it's a matter of experienced and enough playing time, if he got that chance then maybe he'll improve something but for sure criticizm will always be there as many eyes from those people who loves to attract readers and viewers will drag his name to earn clicks and views.

Along the way, he got his paycheck critics will get their views and both sides will benefits from it, he just need to get use of it.

It's not that we don't know his future, but we can look back at his stats and there are videos of him playing already in the NBA. And by that, we can see how good or bad he is as let's say compare to his father.

If he wanted enough playing time, then he should at least finished his college. But I guess Lebron can't wait for that as they wanted to make a history in the sports. So he was drafted by the Lakers and now it's going to be a make or break for him.

That's the advantage, LeBron uses his influence to make things possible for his son and there's nothing we can do about that, Lakers knows how to run their business and they use that edge giving James Jr a decent contract, like what you mentioned basing from his past stats we can't expect too much from him, just watch when the regular season's start and see if there's improvements that he can contribute to his team.

I am really sad about what happened to Derrick Rose but that is the life of an athlete. Sometimes you continue your goal with great health and sometimes you will be injured which could ruin your career. Many players have gone through the same thing as him but still, what he showed during his prime was so amazing and entertaining.
I could still remember my colleagues non-stop talking about him every day about how great he is and how he will become a champion someday. Sadly, that never happened in his career but I am still happy to be a part of the viewers for his very entertaining show in Chicago.

Retiring. He is just 35 years old but I think he feels that his career is already below and no one will pay for him anymore. Maybe this is the best decision so that he will be remembered for how solid of a player he was back in the Bulls' days.

Yeah I seen that amd pre knee injury dude was insane.  Had such a smooth game, didn't talk just let his game play.  He was going to be one of the best points to do it but that knee injury killed that all off.  Was a huge D rose fan.  He was so much better than russ and that's not a knock on russ, just how good dude was.

That is definitely something Lebron had to fight so many times in a row. Lebron could have like 6-7 MVP's by now looking at the stats and what he did, probably even more. This dude turns a team that would normally tank, into a team that will go to finals, so it's clear that we are going to see Lebron deserving a lot more, but you can't just keep giving MVP to same player every single season.

From his first stint at Cavs, to his Miami years, to his second stint at Cavs, dude could have won as much as 10 if you just sway a little bit to him. But MVP (unlike ballon) is given to different players very frequently, people dislike giving it to same person too many times in a row, and they do two in a row at best, then start looking for others.

AI was something special. I doubt we’ll ever see another like him. I just wish he didn’t stop dunking when he got in the NBA. His highlight reel at Georgetown is insane.

AI, John Wall, Russell Westbrook, Penny Hardaway, Derrick Rose… they were all some thing special in that they had the skill set to play point guard but could also dunk over anyone in the league.

I don't see the team as being competitive. Their best player ( AD ) is injury prone and LBJ obviously is turning 39 end of this year, so you can't expect him to carry the work load over a 82 game regular season as well. Who else is there to carry the team? I don't see anybody.

We don't know what's gonna happen if there's no influence intervention gonna happen since Bronny still have a chance to get drafted since he's decent player anyways. Also he has a name on basketball scene so provably the hype he could bring is useful for other team. What I think other team could use him as LBJ kryptonite since provably that he will not do any nasty action to his son in court. But guess teams made already a deal that Bronny will go to Lakers that's why they didn't interfere this event to happen. But let see how LBJ and Bronny will perform together if we can see something exciting with their duo or team up.

Sorry but I 100% have to disagree on that. If he wasn't Lebron's son he would have NEVER been drafted this summer, and I mean never.
Was was already just drafted 55th overall and I honestly believe if the draft had 100 players to be drafted he wouldn't have a chance to make the cut.
Don't forget, he played for a USC team that had the worst record in years only winning 8 or 20 games. And even on a bad team like this he only managed to get under 5ppg (with terrible shooting splits), under 3 rebounds per game and around 2 assists per game in almost 20 min playing time.
These numbers say one thing, NOT NBA READY.

Throughout the offseason, the Lakers have not been in the trading news as often as fans would like. Honestly, I don't see any significant improvement in their roster compared to last season. So I'm inclined to think that either the play-in tournament or the first round of the playoffs will be the cap for the Lakers in the upcoming season.

Honestly, they’re pretty much the same team, but it seems they trust their current roster, believing that the real issue last season was the coaching style. With a new coach, who they think is an upgrade over Darvin Ham, there’s an expectation for the team to improve. I like where the Lakers stand now...there’s not too much hype around them. This makes me consider placing a future bet on them, as their odds are high, which to me means value. I have a feeling we might be surprised this coming season, but not because of Bronny. Just to clarify my stance on that.

That kind of expected after he got waived by Memphis. He could have retired much earlier, but his got a huge heart in trying to be resilient after all the years the injury has made him. Now, it's safe to say that he's done. I mean it does look like he had like a short career after being named as the youngest MVP, but I guess he have already accepted his fate.
With a lot of talent in the free agency, I doubt that he can get another veteran deal with any team next season.

That news showed up on my device today too, glad someone shared it, even if it slipped in my mind. It’s good for D Rose that he made his decision to retire; we definitely won’t forget him as the youngest MVP in NBA history, and that achievement alone cements his place in the books. He was explosive back then, but we never really know what the future holds for any player; injuries can end careers, and that’s what happened to him, just slowly over time.

But on the bright side, he earned $166,120,847 throughout his basketball career, not bad at all!

No one will argue that criticism is necessary and that it only brings benefits. If a person is not pointed out his shortcomings, mistakes, then he will grow up to be a monster or simply a nobody. I want to believe that nothing like this will happen to Bronny and that everything will be fine with him. I would like to see the name of such great players in the future. Let them delight us with their play and make us a little nervous in important matches.

We have discussed the case of Derrick Rose already.

So true, he could have given Lebron a hard time in the East if not for him getting injured. And it was not just another injury, it was really ugly, like PG or Hayward. And he was lucky that DRose was able to make a comeback and teams till picking him up although we have seen that he is just a shade of himself. That cross over and then that sudden leaping ability that really makes watching DRose during his prime as a Bull extra fun and entertaining.

He doesn't have a choice but to really improved his game, but that is, if he will be given time to play, otherwise, every game that they will have, they will criticized him for whatever reasons they can throw to him. And so he should be better prepared for it.

Otherwise, he will be mentally stressed, although he has obviously a great mentor to guide him as he also have been in that kind of situation before but he was able to proved everything wrong about it that he is all hype and overrated. But, they are totally different, Lebron is really talented coming off from high school, while Bronny is just an average player.
