The rewards vary, but from personal experience having exactly 50% of my pivx in masternodes,
you get almost the same rewards recently, with masternodes rewarding slightly more.

I would get 30 - 50 % more stakes than masternode reward payouts a day, but stakes being 80% of the masternode payout.
So staking is providing a nice return with the current masternode numbers.

Just another suggestion,

Maybe it would be an idea to update the wallet every month or so with the blockchain so that we dont have to wait for it to update a years worth of transaction or do the additional download steps when getting a new wallet?

I have a feeling if it was possible you may already do it, so maybe that's not technically possible, but if it is I think it would be worth the effort.

Also, what is the smallest unit of PIVX? .00000001?

And finally I believe my receive address is DQYhoJ5EvmKYCpzGsV1kfMw1Xm35ssaF3b

Can someone send me a tiny little bit just so I know its working please?

Not sure what you mean by the wallet update.
You don't have to resync your blockchain when you upgrade the wallet to the newer version.

Smalled unit of PIVX is 0.0000001 PIV (PIVX unit is called PIV)

As for some PIV, if you join our slack, I could tip you a PIV that you can withdraw to your wallet. (slack.pivx.org)

How to setup staking?

I used this guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/14jL8KUAiKxB9rBS_Zj-Xc1MmmurpniwGcT-iLZ5na1g/edit

Tried to set "staking=1" or staking=1 in configuration file pivx.conf, but it does not work.

There are PIV coins in the wallet.

I tried with not encrypted and now with encrypted wallet unlocked for stacking, but both does not work.

It writes Staking is not active.

I have my PIVX folder in custom location on external hard disk.

The platform is macOSX.

pivx.conf file was empty, so I tried to add "staking=1" or staking=1.

afaik all records in conf all are without "" but in my opinion no configuration is mandatory for staking

not sure if you have the unlock button in stettings menu on mac wallet.
if yes try with a minimal conf file,  encrypt the wallet (think about backup first)
restart the wallet and go to settings / unlock put in your pw and mark "for anon / staking only" option

wait a while and check if staking is actrive
if this is not working you need help from a mac guy. or go to slack for help

Of course, i added it for you to showcase what a working config can look like. Afaik, the defaults should work for staking without changing anything. If you need more support, i suggest you hit the forums at https://forum.pivx.org/ or join the slack with it's dedicated #support channel.
