I just caught up with the thread after a long time and I have to say I'm impressed with how fast you guys keep improving the coin! Well done!

I'm not a big fan of the name PIVX but it could have been much worse I suppose (like DASH  Cheesy). The fact that a google search for "pivx" is pretty empty is a very good thing.

I see a lot of debate over this forum vs. slack and what's clear is that a lot of people refuse to use one or the other (I'm guilty of this, I dislike slack). So I think it would be best if updates would keep making their way onto both places.
As far as I see this was the case so far, I'm just hoping it will continue to be the case in the future.

Not your keys, not your coins!

I'm still doubtful that PIVX transactions are secure and not susceptible to interference. In addition, I don't see folks who would be going nuts over POS 2.0 since POS 5.0 is already broadly used in each and every prominent coin.

PIVX is only 11 months old so I can understand people having doubts.
But where did you get POS 5.0? Who made it? What coin uses it? Huh

New Wallet Update

DNET wallet v2.1.3.4 has been released. This is a non-mandatory update if you are using v2.1.3.0 or higher.
This release adds an In-Wallet BIP38 Private Key Encryption/Decryption support. (might be a first in crypto?)
As mentioned before, the PIVX rebranded wallet is planned to be released within the next week or so.

Binaries are available on: https://github.com/PIVX-Project/PIVX/releases/tag/v2.1.3.4

How are you trying to setup the masternode?
Running it locally on the same wallet as your coins? (not recommended)
Or are you running it remotely with a separate controller wallet? (recommended)

I suggest you to check out this guide first. Smiley

For starters... you HAVE TO HAVE A UNIQUE PUBLIC IP FOR EACH masternode. You can NOT use a loopback ip, your MN will be banned.

v2.1.4.0 planned for release next week will be mandatory and will be the very first PIVX rebranded wallet.
Maybe you should make it v3.0.0.0 after rebrand?

Yeah. Maybe not v3.0.0.0 but at least v2.2.0.0 might make it clearer. Smiley

We now have a coin introduction blurb on the OP. Hope you like it as it's my write up. Grin Grin Grin
On another note, is there any web designer/s here that could assist with the official website?

Looks like we just passed the 475200 block threshold, meaning the total amount minted per block (both minter and mn payment) is now 22.5 instead. A reduction in daily inflation of about 6,480 PIV.

I haven't pushed the Rebrand out yet, until I am finished with the wallet rebranding. Hopefully this week.

Who cares what its called. What we do care about is consistent income. Nobody is concerned about changing a set of letters in the title to anything else as much as u are.

The new wallet has stopped staking from yesterday.
If you need any debug information, please ask.

Update: A restart of the wallet has kicked off the staking again.

I'm using the latest v2.1.3.4 wallet and I can confirm that it is staking fine as I've gotten some minted coins today.

He could be on v2.1.3.3 since v2.1.3.4 was not announced until now. At least on the forum, unless I missed it... I did notice a possible staking issue with v2133 and possible higher than normal orphans but my wallet hasn't gone more than two days without a restart... I already notified s3v3nh4cks about my issue...

According to the github commit history, only difference between v2.1.3.3 & v2.1.3.4 is In-wallet BIP38 and nothing else.
Only known issue with staking at present is when wallet syncs the first time, it needs to be restarted for stake to work.
Considering staking worked after a restart, I can only assume it was this known issue that he/she encountered. Wink
