seem to be having problems with the wallet staying open, closes on its own? looks like it might of closed it self after getting stake?

Seems some people have had their blockchain corrupt. (maybe the wallet didn't shutdown cleanly previously etc)
In this case, it is best to delete the blocks & chainstate folder and the resync. (or restore from a good backup)

I've noticed that backups often don't work either. I have to resync from scratch.

I'm resyncing on 3 different rigs. It's been about 12 hours and they still have a ways to go. (Windows 7 and 10).

i have a auto backup to google drive all 2 hrs, so i allways have chain not older than 2 hrs and  i noticed the same problem from time to time after a wallet crash.
the following workaround is working every time for me if this happens (works with win7 and win 10):

1. deleting all from data dir expect  wallet.dat, peers.dat, pivx.conf, masternode.conf.
2. starting wallet -> synch from scratch is starting -> shut wallet down once the main window is open and synching has begun
3. repeat step 1
4. copy folder blocks and database from backup to data dir
5. start wallet again and it should work with existing chain from backup now

however in most cases i can just fix the problem with step 1 and step 4. if not i have to do all 4 steps

try it maybe this will help you to, and don't forget to backup your wallet.dat regularly!

Cheers

Weird. I've never had an issue with resyncing from a backup on both Windows and Ubuntu.
and I've probably done it like 1000 times due to masternodes, windows crash etc. Tongue

i would say after 1 of 10 crashes on windows wallet i have to do the procedure above and i have absolut no idea why i can fix the problem if i do all 4 steps.
the trick seems to be starting the wallet (only short) without a exisiting chain  Huh.

the only thing i know is that it is not my pc's or hardrives (tested on 4 hardrives, ssd and hdd).

must be a strange (and i would say rare) bug in windows version i guess

never noticed the problem on ubuntu and like you i have lots of nodes ....

Dash is going to the moon right now. I believe that PIVX should be at least 10% of Dash's marketcap since we are the closest facsimile to it. That means we should be at a 40 million marketcap; and we're currently sitting at 2.5M? Bring on POLO!

We need to strike while the iron is hot!

Also the zcryptos have got a good behaviour lately. Seems as BOCh increases its capital control people is more focused on anonymity. So PIVX road map looking for total and multiple layered anonymity could work great.

I'm not ENT dev neither affiliated with EternityGroup in any way. Simply, the coin gives good returns.

I think we need a chick spokewomen like Amanda to promote PIVX. I seriously think that would help propel PIVX to where it should be. Anybody have any suggestions?

Ive tried to sync it up but couldnt get it to work. My impression is that client will never stop syncing, this makes me losing my temper and throwing a punch at my display. I feel like like I will end up crashing everything around me.

I think it would be a good idea for people to post bug reports over at forum.pivx.org so we can catalogue them and get them fixed in an orderly manner.

When making a good blockchain backup (blocks & chainstate), you need to cleanly exit the wallet first.
So in Windows, File - Exit or in linux via pivx-cli stop etc. If not, the blockchain may not be consistent.

These are just wallet.dat file. They hold your private keys. It's not a blockchain backup.

FYI

We now have a dedicated PIVX forum. https://forum.pivx.org/
But for real time support / discussions, Slack is still most used.
Of course, we will still be active here as per usual.

U should rather create a discord channel than sit on ur butt and wait till u get any more visitors on slack. Everyone in their right mind hates slack as its a pathetic bear pit. Decide for urself whether u wanna get more clicks from people that admire u.

We currently have over 200 members now in Slack and many are quite active.
We also have a working PIVX Tip Bot / Slack Wallet which is quite cool btw.

I've never used discord myself so tell me why it is better? Will more use it? I'm fine if that is the case.
(But I won't be active there as it's blocked at my work network where I spend most of my online time)
