If you have realistic targets and you are real admirer of tech then you need not to be worried. What I am enjoying is the appreciation of all altcoins for the first time at this large scale when everyday hundred of millions are being brought to these markets. Pivx is playing nice on the market by all means.

OK, so I've got my PIVX in my wallet and encrypted it, what do I need to do to start staking ? What is the Obfuscation button for ? What happens if I turn my laptop off at night and if the IP address automatically changes, does it still stake ? Apologies in advance for the newbie questions.

I have an issue with my windows wallet. I use windows 10 64bit. Due the electricity problem, my computer did not shutdown properly. When I restart my computer and open the pivx wallet, I saw this message "pivx-qt.exe has stopped working". I can enter the wallet.
Is there any solution? I do not have a backup of my wallet. But the wallet file is still in my directory. This is the second day I am using pivx wallet. Please help me. Thank you.

Please check this info graphic or page 4 here for how to stake. https://slack-files.com/T14Q58TGF-F4MMZN92T-484ccb5c00https://docs.google.com/document/d/14jL8KUAiKxB9rBS_Zj-Xc1MmmurpniwGcT-iLZ5na1g/editObfuscation is a coin mixer to make the transfer of those coins harder to trace in the blockchain. Staking only works when the wallet is online. Change of IP address does not matter.

Don't worry. Your coins are safe as long as you have the wallet.dat file. (make sure to copy it elsewhere for backup!) Now, your wallet is not working as the blockchain db is corrupt due to the non-graceful termination of the wallet. So... From the directory where your wallte.dat file resides, you need to delete the chainstate & blocks directory. (only these 2) Then you can relaunch the wallet to resync the blockchain. If you want to sync faster, you can download the official blockchain backup from our github and extract the 2 folders. You can download the "Pivx_Blockchain_Backup-xxxxxx.zip" from here: https://github.com/PIVX-Project/PIVX/releases

Download and install Wallet from pivx.org 2. Start the wallet and let it snyc or close the wallet after a first start and the main window opens and don't wait for synch 3. open the pivx data dir copy your wallet.dat from your backup drive/folder to the data dir (overwrite the existing, new and empty wallet.dat) 4. open the wallet again (and let it snyc) 5 after a full sync all your funds are available

How do masternodes help to insure the anonymity of the network. I know that this and cash use them are they a point of weakness? I understand has figured out how to make anonymous transactions without masternodes.
Can someone sell me on why you would use a masternode system over cloak which does not have ten and anonymity is achieved in wallet client alone.

masternodes are only a part of the anon feature for pivx. ZEROCOIN PROTOCOL is coming too. "Full-time Zerocoin Protocol: We will be utilizing the vetted and academically verified Zerocoin Protocol in a manner that will require all transactions on the PIVX network to utilize this protocol. Increasing the security and fungibility of PIVX as time moves on." https://pivx.org/what-is-pivx/roadmap/for more info and tech aspects please visit slack channel and/or off forum

I checked PIVX white paper and I highly recommend everybody to read it first. It clarified all the questions in my mind regarding Staking and MN.
Actually its see-saw algo which stables the reward between MN and St so its not always win-win for MN like in case of Dash.
So, I see PIVX next and improved version of Dash. Wow! I discovered it relatively early than Dash (I'm still newbie in crypto world).
