Seems like altcoins are kind of like of the stock markets ... back in their very very early days.  Lots of players with agendas trying to manipulate the masses for profit.

With the recent quality and quantity of messages on forums, and specifically their nature, one does wonder about the true intentions of all these out-of-nowhere doomsayers.  In this digital age, it's not just easy to create an account and speak what you want, it seems you can very easily mince your words, do a 180 degree twist and say "my bad, all is good after all, it was just a little storm, the stuff is legit, the devs are good ...."  You get the picture.

Time will tell. Just think on your own.

I'm a holder of pivx.

I like what it represents, but just feel there are so many grey areas in the development side time wise. No timelines at all other than "2017". Any business that is successful has a timeline, and just wish we could be more specific. If the goals aren't reached, at least you have an idea of whether we're on track, ahead of time or need to put some extra work in.

I appreciate the guys in slack being active, but the "I love you Pivians" only goes so far.

Once we have some news the price will be reflected, but until then many have lost faith and the price slump will stay I think.

I have fixed feelings about this community/ no one is in charge approach to a young coin. It certainly worked for Bitcoin, so not saying it's wrong, but will it work? Time will tell I guess. It certainly separates us from the majority. Will that work FOR us or AGAINST us?

I wish pivx all the success in the world Smiley

PIVX is still young, other similar alts took months/1 year to get over 1$.You can't expect a coin to go vertically up just because you want some profit.Price increase doesn't come overnight, it slowly comes after months, even 1-2 years of hard work and development. It's not unusual for price to go 50% down, or even more.In the early days (2014) how many people do you think got scared and dumped when Dash was 1.5$ (after reaching 14$ a few months before), how many people dumped Bitcoin after reaching the 200$ floor?

Best profit comes when you hodl (as much as you can).

Nope, this is my first post, and I'm fairly new to crypto.

Been reading a lot on many forums, never posting, but the pattern is quite evident.  Just speaking my mind that's all.  But I've been in the stock market for ages, saw such a striking similarity, couldn't resist pointing it out.

Of course, there are the players on the other side too who try to jack up prices and profit on behalf of others.  If you look at the general situation right now with all coins, I think it's pretty clear what the market is telling you.

Again, we should all read, learn, and make informed decisions.  Not based on what others just throw at us, without basis.

All I know is that this is a genuine project with a lot of time put into. Over 14 months old and has been constantly developed.
Just check the github. They weren't hyping. They were busy coding. Cool https://github.com/PIVX-Project/PIVX/commits/master

We don't like releasing timelines because it encourages quick and shitty code if we are running up against the timeline and need to get things finished. I can tell you that right now we are working on our zerocoin implementation and hoping to have it in the testing phase within the next 3 weeks. Then we will squash the bugs, add to the implementation to make it more exceptional, test again, squash, test, squash, then hopefully move on to release process. My estimate would be at least 2.5 months for all of that (if things go according to plan), but could be longer.

Then after zerocoin the plan is to move on to governance. We haven't studied it hard enough, so I can't give any 'timeline' for you on that.

Pivx dropping and dropping, where is the flooor______?   Cry

just wait ,, the price will go up shortly,,  Wink
i also hold this PIVX at this moment

Careful Presstab  is same dev guy from HYP which is now dead coin which did a similar run to PIVX and crashed burned , Presstab is involved with PIVX , another igotspot type fellow don't say you didn't get warned.
Found out earlier and me and some others in my group bailed out and sold all our coins. Good luck think smart money peps. Time to move onto another coin people.

Tell something more about this dev if you can and have proper info.

HYP is a fun coin. It definitely never saw anything close to what pivx did (top market cap ever was $800k). A lot of the community moved on from it after a year or two, and there is nothing I can really do about that (not a marketer, just a coder). The community that remained voted against making protocol updates that I wanted to make in order to make it have a bit better economics and such, so the development of it really got into a stalement. I would love to figure out a way to get the community to jump on board to revive that coin, but they were pretty stubborn. I still have dreams about adding really cool staking protocols to HYP that would be an industry first, but stubborn bagholders dont seem interested.

I have worked on many coins, I hire out as "free lance" coin development work, and also owner of a block explorer service. I wasn't part of the creation of Pivx, but was hired a few months later to do some work for Pivx such as replacing proof of work with proof of stake, BIP38 tools, MultiSend, and a few others. Once I saw that other developers were interested in working as a team on Pivx, I decided that was great (I havent ever worked on a coin with a team of good qualified developers) and that I wanted to be part of the permanent team. One of the other things that I love about Pivx is that all I have to do is stick to coding, don't have to handle any marketing (have a whole marketing team for that), and even don't have to provide user support (there is a support team for that too).

Now I (and the other devs) are working on super sexy refactoring of zerocoin that will be implemented into Pivx. It really is exciting code to be writing and refactoring, and I really think it will make Pivx one of the top competitors in the anonymous transaction battle. I find it incredibly satisfying to work on something that is going to make a difference. Also I am not going to lie, the fact that the upcoming budget will likely have coins paid to the dev team is also a huge plus for me.

If you are worried about me jumping ship from Pivx, that isn't something you should worry about. Feel free to have a chat with me on slack if you have any concerns or questions.

Applause !!! It's masterful answer to fud by Presstab ! this is how it's done.

I am in total agreement ! No stress my dear, serious users are here for the long term. Until it's our main currency of daily use.

I see this on exchanges whenever there is a sudden rise in another coin, like bitcoin, litecoin, dash, etc. I am just going to be patient because i know there is good development behind PIVX. Been following it since day one and i still think it has a bright future a head of it.

This link should be put in the OP if it's asked a lot, I didn't find any info about staking rewards, only about the masternodes.

BTW, if the calculator says 4days to reward and I stake for 3days without reward then I restart the PC, open and unlock the wallet again, will I have to wait 1day or 4day ? (I know these numbers are averages but the staking itself is picked by random or it is measured, who stakes for how long and who is next in row to get a reward ?)

you can input the numbers of coins you have and it will give you an approximate time until you get a stake.

You have to keep the wallet open as staking rewards is based on time X number of coins, which gives a value. the higher the closer you are to get a stake. However if you close the wallet, the time value restart. As such you have to keep it open all the time, and btw it's what secure the network.

I hope it helped. happy staking.

BTC bump, weak hands, and if you have watched bittrex live trading the last hours you could see clearly see some manipulation to push the price down.
