The super fast completions are awesome, PIVX approach to crypto is the best!

I'm looking forward to the ZeroCoin update, is there any news ?? Smiley

I believe zerocoin is supposed to be implemented somewhere in 2017. I read somewhere that it's hard to make an exact guess as to when it will be implemented because Pivx will be the first PoS coin to have the zerocoin protocol implemented and it is not yet possible to estimate which bugs will arise and how much time it will take to overcome them, because it's all new. However, zerocoin implementation is a priority of the developers.

Once zerocoin gets implemented though we will probably see the price skyrocket. Pivx will be the most secure and private coin there is, it would surprise me if Pivx doesn't reach top-10 market cap after zerocoin implementation.

Cool thanks for the explanation, if it gets to DASH levels that would be amazing!

Hey All,

There's a proposal out on the table that needs votes for this superblock/reward cycle.

There are about 3900 PIV that will go unused/uncreated this round, and instead of them just going by, a bunch of PIVIANS put together a proposal to put those into a PR/marketing/conference/etc slush fund.  See the proposal below (and vote)!

Staking PIVX works well, got 10K staked and 10K in Masternode and staking definitely has more bang than the Masternode bucks at the moment!

It's a great model guys. It'll make people hang on to them longer for sure, and the bringing it to Argentina idea that's in the slack discussion at the mo is good for passive income there.

What is the stake reward ?

This + the last road map should definitely bring this coin to the level it deserves to be

It's so nice using a fast coin, and I just noticed Bittrex doesn't charge any withdrawal fees for PIVX Smiley

The staking payout info is here, as well info as the master node payouts:  http://178.254.23.111/~pub/DN/DN_masternode_payments_stats.html

It's working out well for me so far, I got 5 payments from the network today (4 x 1.9349 PIV for staking, and 2.564 PIV for the masternode)  + no power costs and no mining gear costs.  Grin Grin Grin

Just sold all my DASH and turned it into PIVX - With all this bollocks about declaring crypto value while travelling makes privacy enabled coins more important.  And I think PIVX has a better chance of success than DASH now with new ZeroCoin updates.

Is there much happening on the lightweight mobile wallet front for PIVX?

Are you using the 64 bit wallet?  I was running it on a 32-bit Windows machine for a while and that seemed a bit flaky in terms of crashing on startup and forking once. Since running on a 64-bit Windows 7 PC for about a week I've had no more trouble at all.

A question about masternodes, do you need to have 100% uptime in order to not lose your position in the reward queue or there is grace period before you lose your position ? Someone told me for staking it's 15 minutes then you go back to the beginning of the reward queue. Is it the same for masternodes or you need 100% uptime ?

How is PIVX different from ZCoin?

How is PIVX an improvement over Dash (which it was forked from)?  What about it is better?

Price targets?

Thanks for your insights.

I found this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1832838.0 and also liked this comment from the Slack chat rooms:

When a Crypto spikes 20x in a few months, you're going to have a pullback.  There's significant price support at the $1.50 level... and at $100m we're larger than most cryptos were even 1 year ago.  We're new.  When Zerocoin comes out (within "weeks" per devs), we 3x in price.  When we're added to Jaxx/Shapeshift, 2-3x in price, when the market figures out they can EARN CASH FLOW with a Crypto - 100x in price.
I recently heard an interview of Amanda B Johnson (DASH's Marketer) with Dave on X22 Report Spotlight - she said something interesting "The Market Always Wins" - that is a core economic principle of mine, and I laughed out loud - when DASH devalues its owners at the rate of 19% a year in Expenses, while PIVX is pursuing radical privacy / true democratic decentralization / AND pays Cash Flow of 5-10% a year, wow... when the "Market Wins" - and prices in our economic advantage, Ethereum price levels will be possible.  We're strong, we're rapidly expanding (we're the only Crypto with a Permanent Self-Funding Mechanism!!!), but we're also new.  So hold tight - PIVX community is strong and growing stronger by the day

oh dear...

Dash wallet is more stable than Pivx atm and i dont understand about your claim that

Dash holder are now enjoying ATH and surely their holder get more value.  i hope this community stop throwing baseless accusation as marketing effort, its not working and only make your community looks bad.

btw im considering selling as wallet still has problem.

I'm with noobtrader here, and I'm a very early investor in PIVx as the oldest here know. This 'PIVX is better than Dash in every aspect' it's starting to annoy me. Let's see some points:

PIVx, as Dash, has a mature, hard working, best class dev team. But devs in DASH has had a lot more time to work in their project, so their wallet is quite more stable and worked than PIVx.

PIVx has a strong community, DASH also have it, and bigger, it has more time to mature it and is traded in far more and bigger markets.

Dash is accepted in far more merchants than PIVx, and yes, I know PIVx PR team is working a lot and in a very good way in this area, but for the moment Dash has a clear edge here. And crypto is not only about the tech behind, is also about the things you can do with it. For the moment, Dash has far more utility than PIVx.

So we have two very nice proyects, Dash and PIVx, with slight different approaches to privacy and I'm confident they are going to be long term survivors. But try not spray FUD in one or other thread, people. And class A accounts, we know very well how this is played, let's try not to enter in the shit of fake, noob accounts, please. Best part with PIVx was when the community was working as fuck in solve the POS problems and the fudders and shillers that appeared in that time in the thread where simply ignored.

And to the ones who bought @180k. You had suffer the distribution time, now you are watching the reaccumulation time and if development goes well in some weeks, months we will probably see a new distribution time. Play it wisely.

And think about this, is completely true and if you look in the thread or twitter, you will find the people who is here from the beginning is not very happy with this between coins fud thing:

I hope this community stop throwing baseless accusation as marketing effort, its not working and only make your community looks bad.

On the other hand, noobtrader, you know that this attitude is only followed by a small part of PIVx community and that there is some people from Dash community, possibly the same type of people than here, that is making the same shit with PIVx, it's only vaporware, mostly premined coin, has no tech improvement at all and so on. That's also the same shit, but from the other side.

Salute

Have you tried a real DEX??? But a real DEX like this!!!

Cool thanks for your thoughts guys.

I am excited by the PIVX network reward model and that DASH is so highly valued. The fact that coins get created at a reasonable and predictable rate without all the energy and machine waste is what got me interested in DASH.  Then I wanted to go down the MN route and found it cost prohibitive.

I'm not anti Dash, and I'm glad you agree PIVX has merit overall, to me it's something that looks good so far and has potential to go where DASH is today.

A question about masternodes, do you need to have 100% uptime in order to not lose your position in the reward queue or there is grace period before you lose your position ? Someone told me for staking it's 15 minutes then you go back to the beginning of the reward queue. Is it the same for masternodes or you need 100% uptime ?

afaik 1-2 hrs grace period

So it has much more grace period than staking ? is there any chance I can find this in a documentation or in the code itself ? I want to be sure of this. I assume all masternodes work the same way (they are all taken from dash, right ?)

maybe better ask this on slack ....
i can confirm the 1-2 hours for masternodes cuz i had some nodes offline in the past for about 70 minutes (updates and stuff) without droping off the reward queue.
at around 90 minutes the node will go to missing/disabled state and will drop off the queue in my experience ...

cheers
