Almost as useless as trying to find something you saw on Facebook just a few hours ago...  Slack's search is terrible.  Who would think that the rickety awesomeness of BCT could outshine something so new.

Also... for those not in the slack... wtf are you waiting for?!?!?

pivx.slack.com

I hate slack, it's practically a hugbox with so much useless filler it's hard to find relevant information even with the search.

It's a shame this thread is so dead because of slack.

yes it is a shame, and i think it is a mistake to concentrate on slack ...

there are a alot of let's say "strange" people on slack, and i rather deal with trolls in here  Grin

I'm with noobtrader here, and I'm a very early investor in PIVx as the oldest here know. This 'PIVX is better than Dash in every aspect' it's starting to annoy me. Let's see some points:

PIVx, as Dash, has a mature, hard working, best class dev team. But devs in DASH has had a lot more time to work in their project, so their wallet is quite more stable and worked than PIVx.

PIVx has a strong community, DASH also have it, and bigger, it has more time to mature it and is traded in far more and bigger markets.

Dash is accepted in far more merchants than PIVx, and yes, I know PIVx PR team is working a lot and in a very good way in this area, but for the moment Dash has a clear edge here. And crypto is not only about the tech behind, is also about the things you can do with it. For the moment, Dash has far more utility than PIVx.

So we have two very nice proyects, Dash and PIVx, with slight different approaches to privacy and I'm confident they are going to be long term survivors. But try not spray FUD in one or other thread, people. And class A accounts, we know very well how this is played, let's try not to enter in the shit of fake, noob accounts, please. Best part with PIVx was when the community was working as fuck in solve the POS problems and the fudders and shillers that appeared in that time in the thread where simply ignored.

And to the ones who bought @180k. You had suffer the distribution time, now you are watching the reaccumulation time and if development goes well in some weeks, months we will probably see a new distribution time. Play it wisely.

And think about this, is completely true and if you look in the thread or twitter, you will find the people who is here from the beginning is not very happy with this between coins fud thing:

I hope this community stop throwing baseless accusation as marketing effort, its not working and only make your community looks bad.

On the other hand, noobtrader, you know that this attitude is only followed by a small part of PIVx community and that there is some people from Dash community, possibly the same type of people than here, that is making the same shit with PIVx, it's only vaporware, mostly premined coin, has no tech improvement at all and so on. That's also the same shit, but from the other side.

Salute

dash is a proven scam so pivX has that advantage for sure. that will eventually count for a lot.

dash should be a proven scam? stop fud  Kiss

No worries.  Btw, I loved your old MS Paint NEM posts in that thread.  I'm a big NEM fan too, but they WERE hilarious.

I totally get where you're coming from and think we should have a much stronger presence here which is why I keep popping in

Besides... this thread has DRPD, and that's freaking invaluable  Smiley

I was staking for a few days and everything was going well, but I needed to move my PIVX wallet to another PC. I backed everything up, moved it over, and now my stakes show up as orphaned blocks.

Even worse, it's been a few days now and I haven't earned any stakes. It only took a day or two to start earning stakes last time.

Is there something else I should do when moving things over? The wallet seems fine besides the no earning of stakes now...

First, check your blockhash compare with the one here: http://178.254.23.111/~pub/DN/DN_masternode_payments_stats.html. Your old wallet might have been on a fork, which could be why your stakes showed up as orphans; or your new wallet did not sync proper. Also, did you try setting up a static IP? That can help with staking and connections. Just like do not set up a config unless you are running a masternode. The newest wallet works best without one.

I have been trying to update my wallet for the past 3 days but it stops updating and says 8 weeks behind. The last time I opened the wallet to update was 12 weeks ago and now it's stuck at 8 weeks.

I downloaded the latest wallet today, but I still have that same problem(stuck at 8 weeks behind). how do i rectify it?

The Point of Sale plan is a bit weird in my opinion - that's a big undertaking if it's meant to be a fully featured one that replaces existing tills (and handles cash and all the rest of it).  A PIVX Payment Terminal yes, but otherwise it's just a never ending project that will always need more done to it to make it useful enough for a business.

Love the energy of the people supporting PIVx, developers as well as the marketing team(s) and other community members. It's really exceptional!! Exciting to see what this crypto will do when the zerocoin protocol gets implemented, possibly in the next few months. Wouldn't surprise me if we hit top 10 market cap later this year.

I also really like the reward system where 90% goes to masternodes/stakers and 10% to proposals. It's a good way to for example get funds for informing the people about PIVx and to keep increasing the user base. To da moon! Smiley

Yes it's a good vibe around PIVX, it will probably do really well.  It's good it doesn't have "coin" in the name and it's a new concept without misconceptions from the get go.

Also I found the proposal for the POS - it's a payment interface only which is the right approach in my mind https://forum.pivx.org/t/pivit-point-of-sale-terminal-proposal/1223

You absolutely can, BUT rewards will be infrequent at that amount, so make sure your expectations are inline with reality
