Dev, tell me, what is the problem of connecting a solar battery to a Raspberry pi3? The meaning of the existence of a coin in this?

With the Solar Staker we're aiming for something that can stay on for decent amounts of time. The Solar Staker is also only one of the projects this coin is trying to push forward. The device we're currently looking at (The C.H.I.P from Next Thing Co) is similar in how it works to the raspberry Pi but requires less power and has wifi, storage, and battery charging and monitoring built in. Products like https://www.amazon.co.uk/Portable-Waterproof-Dustproof-Shockproof-Emergency/dp/B06XCFP7QN (one of the first results I got on Amazon) may look good however when you delve into their specs you find that it would run something like a Pi3 for a few hours at best and then require days (or more likely weeks) to recharge from the sun alone (although that information is usually hard to find). Based on the size of that panel (as there's no other information to go by) it might provide about 1W (that's a generous estimate) of power in bright sunlight (spring/summer day with no clouds), The Pi3 needs at least 6W and ideally more (the suggested power supply is 12W).

I pushed my market making robot onto Bittrex a few days ago - its now automatically adding trnsactions to the buy and sell threads every time there is some movement (trigger is a few percent change right now) - should help to increase volume a little. I don't have a huge amount of EGC at stake there - but I'm gradually adding to it.

Many thanks, starmman! I'll get some more markets implemented in the coming weeks - I spent a long time working on the architecture so it's pretty simple to add new markets. I'm adding Yobit, CEX.IO and Novacoin next followed by Cryptopia, shame yobit didn't update the wallet yet.

My 800 satoshi order got filled this morning - that's a great price for buying in my opinion - added some more orders in with my XMR profits that came in overnight - The price lends great opportunity for any people who want to start staking or improve their staking balance, I can't see the price staying sub 1k for too long with the developments that Steven is working on.

Some new projects were added to the EverGreenCoin Renewables page this morning. https://evergreencoin.org/egcrenewables/ Bored and have some spare time? Put one of these projects together and post it so we can see your creation. There's something for everyone and nothing is too difficult. Have a great day and stay frosty. Bow

Why do you need a coin? Why not just raise money for a project on a kickstarter? The coin has existed for several years, is it really difficult to realize the device (staker for another coins) during this time? How will the real (not speculative) demand for a coin be formed?

Lernerz, thanks for your interest. The Solar Staker is just one aspect of the coin. We do hactually have a crowdfund on the website. https://evergreencoin.org/product/evergreencoin-solar-staker-crowdfund/ We built the website so it would be one entity and so we wouldn't have to go to another website for crowdfunding or a kickstart. The coin/project is only 15 months old and it has come a long way. If you look at Bitcoin mining operations, you will see why the solar staker is important for cryptocurrency and the environment. Do you have some ideas of your own about the staker? Send me a message on the website; or you can send Steven Saxton a message. The EverGreenCoin community cares about the project and the environment. We also care about people and that's why the 'staking for charity' feature has been added. Also, as far as people go, we have provided quite a bit of education on the website so people can live better with the environment. The coin will be realized when people see that we are farmers, ranchers, and homesteaders and that we are here for humanity...not to make a quick buck. Respectfully, Bow

Someone had previously started a basic solar staker (I think along the lines of Pi + solar battery bank) last year and then disappeared. From the little information he published I'm not sure the solution he was working on was particularly innovative or how well it would have worked. If you look back over some of the more recent posts about the staker then hopefully you'll see we're aiming for something that people would like to buy and use and that the setup we're looking at using is well tested. Potentially the Solar Staker could be expanded to other coins in future, but initially it's an EverGreenCoin project. As you've been told already the Staker isn't the only part of EGC it's got an active community and lots of Green ideas (not just the Solar Staker). If you've got more ideas and/or want to get involved then please do. A lot of the day to day communication is on Slack and IRC.

Volume looks good on Bittrex again today - looks like there is an active bot (or somebody playing around a lot) back on the exchange.

So the community is aware, the block explorer will be going down for maintenance this afternoon. It will be going down for a complete re-index including rebuilding the database and will be down for a few hours while this is performed.

Hi, I use to keenly follow the crypto market till last year, evergreen coin was a hot coin right about the time I decided to take a break. The market cap was almost $4 mil. i was expecting this coin to rise even further, I am stunned to find it now only has $80 k market cap . What happened ? Seriously? Thought this was a great project to save energy. I still feel this is a good idea, I just want to know if the project is still active or is this project dying? Is there any active development and future plans like a roadmap? Is the developer still interested in continuing this project. Thanks Pasa.

You can read the thread and see the project is still very active. EDIT: You can find the roadmap in the OP under the section labeled "Roadmap".
