The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

I'm not certain I like how this POS voting work. It appears that if you try and solo mine, if your connection is lost for any reason, you could miss a vote, and then your coins are locked up, with no chance for a reward. You could join a staking pool, but then you are basically trusting your vote to the pool operator. What if a hot issue comes up and you have tickets with the pool that have not been rewarded yet? What if you find that you disagree with the pool operator on the issue? Now all of those tickets will be used to vote his way. They recommend that if you solo mine, you need to keep a connection 24/7. Even the best servers have a chance of going down, even with redundancies in place. Seems like this POS mining is going to not be very centralized. The people who can set up the best pools with the best guarantees for continuous connectivity to the network is going to have all the voting power.

How come cgminer for decred has a maximum Intensity of 14? ( -I 14 ) I used to mine Dogecoin in the past with this same GPU and was able to set a much higher intensity on my card to get more hashing power. I'm now mining with I 14 on my 5850 card, but I'm sure it can handle a bit more, I don't get any hardware errors or rejects and the desktop is still very responsive. I'm running at 68 celcius.. Anyone know why that is? Is it compiled that way?
They inherited a Blake miner that made the intensity stupid - I 14 is actually I 29. wolf0 did i read somewhere you compiled a miner for this coin ?

Wonderign why price is no rising at all. Ridicolous now. More profitable to mine eth.
It should be at 0.01 at least. Seems investors are afraid in bulk buy for the long term.

Don't compare it to a coin with 2 years of active development. Decred is just starting to take off, it will get there soon. Be patient!

Decred win wallet is not out yet?!
No, not yet. The native Windows wallet GUI will be based on Paymetheus - porting of that has already begun (by its creator). There will also be efforts put in place to bring forward a native wallet GUI for OS X and Linux. A bunch of RFPs will be released this week so other developers and UI/UX designers can get involved and get compensated for their work. The development subsidy had to accumulate a bit for this to happen. The stake pool is being worked on as well and a goal there is to include per user voting selection. This will be made open-source so others can host their own stake pools that vote together. RFPs are also planned so you can vote using the web wallet, for detailed and user-friendly documentation, and for a web dashboard for the network. These are basic building blocks that we need. In fact, the entire hybrid PoW/PoS system needs explanation to ordinary users, since many still do not understand its power. A big goal of the project is to make all of it accessible to any user (not just technical users). Look at the merits of the project, the activity, the numerous developers with strong free and open-source development backgrounds, and the consistency. Then make up your own mind. Decred was launched ~6 days ago, everything is going quite well - and there's a lot happening. This is a long-term project that aims for a high standard. No doubt things are rough. CLI isn't exactly the best interface for a general audience, but the key here is listening to users and community members, and isolating areas of high impact to improve in. That's what the RFPs are going to tackle. I know that's a bit off-topic based on what I quoted, but I wanted to give you a general overview of the project's mentality.

Just 1 questions: "The development subsidy had to accumulate a bit for this to happen" It means you're already going to sell some decred for pay dev's? You should wait 1-2 years at least to sell even 1 dcr. why selling now at 0.003 when within 1 year you could sell at 0.01 and gain much profit? I think decred could be the next bitcoin, since we all know what's happens to bitcoin with price from beginning, i prefer to drink water for next 2 years, but than eatu in the best restaurant's around the world.

It means you're already going to sell some decred for pay dev's? It sound not good, since if you believe in long term project, you should wait 1-2 years at least to sell even 1 dcr. why selling now at 0.003 when within 1 year you could sell at 0.01 and gain much profit?
Oh no, that's not up to the project at all. It does not sell the development subsidy. Developers are paid in DCR. That is, all RFPs pay for deliverables in DCR. It's then up to recipients to decide what to do with their DCR.

Thank you for the kinds words! I should add there is the Decred Constitution that acts as a framework and guides conduct in and as representatives of the project. It was specifically set up to guard against issues witnessed over the years that have led to the deteriorating of otherwise good projects. It describes Decred's principles, how the blockchain is governed, how the project is governed, and how funding operates. Specifically in relation to RFPs: - DHG1 shall make public requests for proposals ("RFPs") for projects that are to be completed by parties on a contractual basis. RFPs shall include a scope and an explanation of how the work shall benefit the project. Parties that submit proposals shall be required to include: (1) a detailed description of the work to be performed, (2) a series of milestones that can be verified as work is completed, and (3) a quote for the work, itemized by milestone, in U.S. Dollars ("USD").
- All proposals, both submitted and accepted, shall be made public one week after a proposal has been selected. Once the selection occurs, the associated RFP shall be removed. Contracted parties shall be paid exclusively in decred ("DCR") at the current effective DCR/USD rate at the time of payment, unless specifically noted otherwise.
1: Decred Holdings Group (i.e., the development organisation responsible for funding work).

many people are still waiting for a dump from airdrop to buy cheaper, but I think it will not happen. Once the stake pool is released, the price should skyrocket a lot of people who I know and receive the airdrop are holding for the long term many lost their seeds and hex and coins are out the market.
