Ohhh is DCR dumping again?... I said it's just a temporary high... even the people at poloniex recognized that DCR is shit and already dead I am starting to think your just a salty pleb, if your not interested in DCR why don't you leave the thread then. Judging by all your smack talk your just a lonely troll who thinks his weak words will have an impact on the followers that know DCR will have a good chance to grow on its own accord. no one really cares that the price went up and then back down, was a good chance to take some profits and buy back in once it stabilized. Funny thing is there have been so many negative salty plebs like you screaming it's dead with so many successful coins that it surprise's me that people still try the same old lines. You really think bitcoin didn't have plebs like you crying its dead, its a shitcoin blah blah blah...... LTC, XMR, DSH, ETH, you all use the same lines with nothing but fud to back yourself up. You have no facts or knowledge on the inner workings of DCR, and being a new coin of course the price is low and there won't be any gain in price for awhile until new features come out and the ability to use it in real world applications. So do us and yourself a favor and just bugger off because all your doing is making yourself look like a silly twat. Oh and there are plenty of real scam and dead coins you could rip on where your words would be more effective.... but not here. Leet is right, get over it, DCR dead OP: Can someone open a price speculation thread so we don't have to see the blather about the price every day? Some non-contributors don't get that software engineers need to design and write code to make a product for the price to be relevant. Great idea! Like the Btc Wall observer thread...

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in
Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it
will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

It's just a list of balances held by the top 50 accounts on Bittrex's site. While it's slightly interesting data for Bittrex trading, it's pretty much meaningless as far as actual distribution of coins go.

No issues here. Poloniex sent me all the coins immediately --- Also, thanks to jyap for answering my question I had the same issue, a restart of the Daemon fixed it finally for me 35 hours in, still haven't got a network confirmation on my DCR withdrawals from Poloniex. Getting nervous now. On the plus side the price went up so I'm at a small profit (assuming that the coins will ever come through). It appears the fees on those transactions were too low. Were you able to open a support ticket?

A mainnet stake pool has come online! Check out https://dcr.stakeminer.com to register and use the pool to PoS mine. Updated the OP text to reflect its status as one of the the PoS pools available to users.

Updated the OP text to reflect its status as one of the the PoS pools available to users. Amazing! Great work to all involved. It has 7.5% fee, which is only fair as someone has to run the server Does this mean that this pool on the official server: https://stakepool.decred.org/will also get a fee? Or will that pool simply be taken down once all the other stake pools are alive?

These are not unfair concerns. Now that Decred has seen its first quarter, it's an important time to begin our review as a community and as a project. This will be done as an announcement. To answer your questions directly, the RFPs to date are set out predominantly to address issues of accessibility, whether it's access to the software and network functions through GUIs ( RFP-1, RFP-2), access to information about network activity ( RFP-3), access to information about how to use the software and different platforms ( RFP-4), or access to Decred through PoW mining through software ( RFP-5) or PoS ( RFP-6) mining through stake pools. All of these RFPs are on-going and aim to improve the means by which users can access the software. Once these are complete and at a reasonable level of maturity, Decred RFPs will transform to address new needs evidenced by users. You can already see that happening with work into getting much better at Decred's presentation to the outside world ( RFP-7), due to the fact that other RFPs are progressing, and exploratory work into transaction scripts such as smart contracts ( RFP-8). Another incredible milestone that most users are not aware of is dcrd is currently being synced to its upstream project (btcd). Most cryptocurrencies do not enjoy this, but with continued development, Decred gets to pull in a lot of improvements. So for example, dcrd will see a major redesign and rewrite of the database package for highly optimized read performance with consistent write performance regardless of database size, once the sync is complete (to name one of the bigger improvements). Achievement of these milestones will lead to demos of blockchain governance, followed by actual "smooth" hard forks, and progressing community members into the project governance side. It may not be super visible at the moment, as most of the visible work goes into the code repositories, but output will eventually become more visible when some of the accessibility milestones are reached. Once that happens, Decred is one step closer to its goal of consensus-based decision-making through voting on the blockchain. It is at that point where things get really interesting when Decred is much more accessible, decentralized, and ready for wider participation. At this point DECRED is a very solid project that need a few more months to be adopted massively(GUI Wallet) but don't wait to much because price will be very high and you could lose the train . Totally decentralized "Decred is one step closer to its goal of consensus-based decision-making through voting on the blockchain."
