Decred is not based in the US, the devs are pretty decentralized, the last i checked there were 25 devs listed on the contributor page of decred website. it is a decentralized project like bitcoin which nobody can shut it down. Decred IS developing privacy feature in private so not many actually knows how it will be. But the standard of decred work is pretty high. till its ready to roll out we just gotta wait and see.

Great announcement. The decred devs will speak at the TexasBitcoin conference this year. Maybe they will come up with some surprising new stuff. We will see whats coming next.

Miners will drop the price, so wait for buy coins, i personally don't like what they've done in zcash (equihash), it should have forked, but Decred is very solid at the price as well.

i don't understand, why miners should have to drop the price? Mine decred is too profitable ? So they can afford a drop of the price?

No, the logic is:

• 1.) asics come online and mine
• 2.) miners dump their coin for costs/ROI
• 3.) market price dumps

Though, this pattern doesn't apply as directly to Decred as it does to pure PoW coins that have transitioned to asics. Hybrid consensus models FTW.

these miners simply dump their rewards, thus putting upward pressure on the price.maybe this can be very profitable.

Some people say that yearly returns for staking would be 25% to 40%. Is this still true at the price of almost 100 Decreds for a voting ticket today?

12-15% is more like it, and slowly decreasing as block/stake rewards decrease and ticket prices rise

Dumps on the network creates downward pressure, not upward. A dump means more coins for sale, which in turn saturates and causes price to fall. Upward pressure is created when buy orders come in. In crypto, this is typically triggered externally by, e.g., news.

Ok, I will still try it out. I believe the next price rally should make up for the reduction of block/stake rewards, and maybe more.

Decred should be worth more than $100 per DCR in my opinion.

Also I have been attracted to the thread after seeing updates and few mentioning on recent development. Even at current price can't grab lot of coins but still it is accessible. In January when it went over $120 that was due to bull run but back in May's move to repeat the same is something what is enough to understand the potential. I have started to polish my knowledge once again about Decred.

I don't see that happening. What might technically be easier would be to reduce the stake reward with a hardfork and increase the voting tickets per block by the equivalent amount.
Say 5x more tickets per block but 1/5 the reward. That would effectively reduce the price and make staking more accessible.

I don't know if it is worth doing though.

Ticket splitting is already possible in 2 pools.
But it takes a minimum of 5 DCR so that the income isn't consumed by the fees.
