The ticket prices are always going up despite the bear market. Might the miners be buying the tickets too? Would it not cause some sort of "failure" in the system if they "control" the POW side and the POS side?
Many people are splitting tickets. It was after that that the ticket price began to rise |

Prices have been on the rise almost since the beginning of the coin.
After the algorithm was fixed to allow for smoother price changes, it has been on a slow but steady upward trend regardless of price.
Ticket splitting is too new to account for that, although I imagine it further increases the upward pressure as the barrier to entry in the staking activity has been removed.

I doubt this because miners usually need to cash out their earning to upgrade and maintain their equipment. Mining is expensive. |

The prices are going up because most decred owners are hodlers. Since they have the coins, the only sensible thing is to stake and they will do that at any ticket price. The alternative would be to have them sitting without any profit but ready to sell speculatively. I believe once the bear market ends (whenever that is) and if dcr pumps, prices will fall dramatically for a time. |
