What is going to happen to the asicminer-PT? will you still continue to pay out dividends or will we be converted to direct shares?

IRC earlier today:

Is there any timeframe for that?

There's still the transfer option from TAT, or is it void now?

Good riddance.  Terrible exchange with terrible practices (I'm referring to WeExchange, I know, not the same entity, but BF supported them nonetheless).

Bitcoin needs new players in the exchange field.

What was the point of asking users to become verified then??  I finally got around to submitting my documents today, please ignore the files uploaded and have them destroyed.

Thank-you

Not a surprise to anyone.

But the alternative is the decentralized exchange, so perhaps its time to look at alternatives.

Important Notice (November 4, 2013)

Please be advised that BitFunder is ceasing operations.  In connection with BitFunder’s shut-down, please note the following points, which supplement the points outlined in BitFunder’s October 8, and October 11, 2013 notices:

* As of November 14, 2013, no BitFunder user will be able to enter into any new positions or sell positions on the BitFunder website.

* BitFunder users are encouraged to transfer their shares from the BitFunder site to the respective issuer(s) no later than December 1, 2013.

* As of December 2, BitFunder will initiate a transfer from the BitFunder site to the respective issuer(s) of any remaining shares held by BitFunder users, and will provide the issuer(s) with the public bitcoin address associated with the user account.  After transfer, each user will need to work with the issuer(s) with respect to the future treatment of the shares.

* On December 2, 2013, bitcoin balances in the accounts of all users will be transferred to their WeExchange accounts.

* As of the date of this notice, BitFunder is not assessing any new fees against any BitFunder user.

* Notwithstanding the shut-down, the site will remain available for viewing and users will be able to request records from BitFunder until at least December 15, 2013.

BitFunder appreciates your understanding in these matters.

I will be making a detailed post explaining more later on. I know this will be hard for some of you, but please try to hold off on the conspiracy theories until then.

Thank You,
Ukyo

Ukyo, too bad to hear this news...thanks for your good work previously..

I have a feeling that a lot of operators, not just Ukyo, have been using funds to make purchases or investments in fiat. This opens them up to huge currency exchange risks and its just not practical for them to be able to bring that capital back to where it's supposed to be.

A friend of mine is unable to access Bitfunder because his old phone with his 2FA is no longer with him.  He has sent a PM to Ukyo but has received no reply.  What can he do to access his account?

BTCINVEST came to a liquidation and TF already liquidated part of the value.

Hey I have been  under a rock and have not been watching this thread for some time.  I have 200 shares of Asicminer Passthrough in my bitfunder account and .34 btc.  How do I get a hold of these either to transfer the shares to Havelock or to sell them and just get my money? Is there hope to see the money or shares?

From IRC is sounds more like he's had enough/can't afford to continue because of legal costs.

lol. jesus christ. ukyo is closing down a source of revenue and losing money for all of his customers because he can't lose more money. i wonder how much his losses are compared to how much he would be making on an operational site or how much he has lost for his customers. i wonder how havelock can continue easily.

Any legal costs that he has now if he has any is nothing compared to what he will face if he does not start to fulfill his commitments, processing withdrawals for users and clarifying issues.
Some people are ready to sue at this point and a group may form right here to jointly sue unless things change and closing is done in an honorable way. Hopefully Ukyo will do that and do that fast.
