Guys, what would you like to see me working on next for HOdlcoin?

How about a kickass Block Explorer. You will find none better than here:

Okay, I got a new version for you tweakers out there - change are in the Github too.

Changes include limit to 1MB block-size (to prevent block filling attack) and new node, but also a new command line argument to help with mining . . . .

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-5Ax5kejTpMZnBOM1cwVVVDMEk/view?usp=sharing

The command line argument is -minermemory=2 . . . . . this sets the miner to use 2 GB instead of 1 . . . you can also try higher settings, 3 or 4, or 16 for kushed. Just use whole numbers.

It starts a new miner for each extra GB with the specified number of threads . . . let's look at an example . .

>HOdlcoin-qt.exe  -gen=1 -minermemory=2 -genproclimit=2

This sets mining on, using 2 GB, with 2 threads on each GB.

>HOdlcoin-qt.exe  -gen=1 -minermemory=3 -genproclimit=8

This sets mining on, using 3 GB, with 8 threads on each GB.

You can use more threads than you have cores, and sometimes it's more efficient. But you'll crash if you try to use more memory than you have free.

You'll have to tweak to see what's best for your processor and memory config. I'm seeing ~10% gains when I have the most efficient settings.

Happy tweaking!

I'm stoked that I can open 16 miners now =D (you think 32gb of ram will work)? So I've been a scrypt miner for 2 years but never dabbled in cpu mining. The command genproclimit=x, how do i know how many threads I should use when opening say 8 miners (8GB ram)?

I'm seeing the best results if your total number of threads is 2 to 4 times the number of cores.

So if you are running minermemory=8 on an 8 core machine, I'd go with genproclimit=2 or genproclimit=4, probably 4 is better.

I don't think you have enough RAM /s

2gb and over in Windows wallet doesn't work - stick with 2 for now until a fix is released

I was able to get 73 Hashes on an i5 2500K (unlocked) and got 3 blocks last night.

Windows doesn't like me doing anything over minermemory=2 (windows 10, 16gb ram) That being said I got,

HOdlcoin-qt.exe  -gen=1 -minermemory=2 -genproclimit=4

I get 40 hashes. :/ Just going to stick to setgenerate true -1

Don't forget to double that as you've got two miners running. So 80 hash/sec . . . about a 10% improvement which is inline with expectations.

WOW ! Seeing you guys hashrate I think I will stop mining, still no blocks found, I can't compete Angry

Someone GPU hack this bugger hahaha

Well that is a cloud server...  and its costing a pretty penny to keep them all running.. so mine won't be up for too much longer... but I have hit blocks on as low as 30h/s this weekend..

I didn't give up mining just yet, I hit my first block finally earlier  Grin Grin Grin

How come the block reward is 50 HODL & the transaction description is 50 HODL but I have dust included in my balance ? 0.o

It would be nice to see all the HODL that is being hodled. Would be uber cool to see stats on each term deposit like blocks to go before it matures.

Okay, new windows binary -
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-5Ax5kejTpMWDdObG5CclFXWms/view?usp=sharing

This update fixes Coin Control to show the interest. You can see how much interest has been earned on each input.

Coin control just shows available-to-spend balances, not term deposits.

Many Thanks FreeTrade.
I’m quite new to Cryptos so just to be clear I would need to do the following: Save the wallet.dat somewhere else. Delete the old HOdl. Download the new Hodl. Bring in the wallet.dat back again to HOdl. Will this be working?

Many thanks and best regards

No you can simply download the new zip.. open the zip.. extract the .EXE to the same place you kept the old one (desktop) and you will get a "replace" pop-up.. click ok.. these types of updates don't require a "fresh" install as you describe above..
