the concept was good and intention is for better future so staking it just like placing your money in the bank but in a different ways and much better earnings just think of it as a future investment we will see what we are missing hodl have many good things in plan.
I'd like to see the feature of a  $20 price tag by, say, this time next year.  That work for everyone?

Hey guys! New here. Been pool-mining. Have a question. When solo-mining through a wallet can the wallet be paused, PC set to hibernate or sleep mode, then woken up with wallet not restarted anew, but continuing mining without previous-hashes-calculated loss ? Just thought it could be more profitable (Core-I3)? Whaddaya think?

Is there any more exchanges or sites where we can vote in Hodl?

Thinking on making a faucet or a dice site using Hodl as a coin. Maybe, we'll see how it goes.

we should stop wasting our time on shitcoin exchange and just trade in on the current exchange . It better to have 10 btc volume on 1 exchange then have 1 btc spread across 10 shitcoin exchange.

once we have daily volume then Bittrex then Poloinex may add us .

It not worth these exchange time of power to add Hodl atm as there no volume.

we should be aiming for higher end exchange. Bittrex and poloinex are the only exchange we should be aiming for.

Trade volume is artificially low due to the large amount, 65%, of locked up coins. This won't likely change until some
of the large TDs start maturing and interest rates are lower. Rating hodl simply on volume does not give a clear
picture of its viability.

I agree that more small exchanges aren't helpful unless they give access to an attractive fiat currency not provided
by existing exchanges.

Poloniex would be nice, I already have an account.

Good point. I agree on all points. It was rather just a "what can we do for the coin" question and I thank for the response.
I wish this coin to grow further and I thought that maybe voting it in on exchanges and other places would be good, but I see why it doesn't really help, unless you have, as said, a place that attracts customers that aren't possible to reach otherwise.

think is best that each of us try to share the news and development and how great this coin is .... Once the price goes up from the limited supply of coin cap  and most are lock away from user term deposit  , the
The Bigger exchange will want to allow trading so they can earn interest on every coin ( not only earn trading Fees) ... unlike staking coin where the coin needs to be lock away. Hodl would pay the exchange and also have the flexibility of withdraws any time.  (even if the coin where on the exchange for 10 min they would be profiting from it.)

Some of the reason I am into this coin :

1. Since launch the wallet was GUI and not CMD ( it not 2009/2010 anymore ) - can mine directly from a button within the wallet (beginner friendly)
2. Since Launch the wallet work and connect directly to the network . I can't believe to run any new coin like ether and close you still need to create a bat file

3. The interest rate on every block . - Don't need to worry about staking coin
4. Since launch, there has been a paper wallet ready for beginner user to print and use for safety of their new coin - (All ether clone and new coin still don't even have paper wallet ready ... hell even litecoin doesn't have safe options and hardware wallet)

5. Currently minable on you computer CPU , I sure you could even mine it on a phone of you modded it .

6. Bonus interest for early adopter , Currently at 23x on you starting Hodl coin .

OMG I went and checked the price of HOdl on YoBit Exchange and I was very miserable... The last I seen it at was 16k Satoshi and now it's at 8k... ish.

I have coins locked for ages so it doesn't really bother me besides the ones I get through mining which is pretty much useless now.
same here i bought this for 16k now im very upset even my coins is staking Im not sure if i can still catch up with this current price, hope dev still have another good plan for us.

That makes 3 of us !

I decided to start mining again & contacted someone I could rent some servers off, then what do you know.... ?

Price decreases which made the coins I mined worthless... Sad

I am hoping Freetrade, Fuzzballs & the team will bring future improvements for the coin so that it's value increases in price.

I suppose we must all do what the coin says and HODL Cheesy

Yup lol that really sucks.  I wish there was some sort of way to get the coins out of the term deposit and maybe take a penalty so in the event the price skyrockets you can withdraw them and take a penalty or something along those lines.
I like the idea of being able to unlock it in a emergency. Make it like a pawn shop where it totally rips you off you get like 10 percent. good idea for next coin

New China exchange means only dumping for Hodlcoin Sad 6-7k already and mining isn't profitable anymore (electricity cost 0.10 USD/kWh and above).

I'm looking for the developer of the original hodlminer who designed the caching optimization.

hodlminer performnace on i5 is not very good due to the smaller cache size. hodlminer, both
the original and the Wolf0 version are optimized for the i7 cache. I've tried changing the slice
size but only get rejects. I would like to communicate with the original author to try to tweak the
slice size for better performance with the i5 cache, but I don't know who that is. Anyone?

I do, but there's no point. Simply because I HAVE changed the slice size - you're still fucked. The whole thing needs to be run through AES-256-CBC - obviously if you can fit the whole slice in cache, this gets a lot better.

Thanks. By fucked do you mean the smaller slice broke it, or did it just not improve it on an i5?

I wasn't... er... targeting an i5 when I did it, let's say. My point is... you *technically* can make it smaller, but all you'd be doing is shuffling the shit around - it's still ALL gonna be needed for the AES transformation. And that ENTIRE transformation must be finished before you can do the next iteration of the loop. Because of this, it's always gonna be better if it fits in some kind of faster storage.

Agreed but the performance difference between i5 & i7 is significantly greater than the difference in cache size.
Wouldn't a slice size tuned for an i5 perform better on an i5 than a slice sized tuned for an i7?

You're not getting it - no matter how you play with it, the same size shit has to be loaded. It's not gonna change a thing - the i5 is likely already packing its cache as best it can.

So you're saying the same applies to the i7 and setting the slice size to match the cache makes no difference. I get that now.

From looking at the code it appeared some cache tweaking was being performed to speed things up. Things like preloading the cache
can help if you have other things to do waiting for the cache to load I've done that kind of stuff in the past and
assumed  something similar was being done with hodlminer. It would have been interesting seeing it done it from c/c++
with the x86 instruction set, neither of which is where my relevent experience lies.
