Edit: For explanation: I rolled my eyes. No smile.

The wallet is java-based. The GUI can't work without flaws when java is not found or even installed.

This article really does not go well with a smiley. It basically says:

- burst is cool, but if you are starting now, you are too late, as solo is pointless and even pool mining is probably not worth the effort;
- first user experience is not good;
- here is a link to Storj, which right now is better;

I personally do not agree with (most) of the article, but hey.... reading comprehension and a smiley surely don't go hand in hand on this one.

Why the frell so many retards spell "ect" as an abbreviation of "Et Cetera"? "ETC", DAMMIT! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Et_cetera

Well hello,

Iv been scarce on here lately.  sig campaign is takin a hit for it.   lol

Anyways,  wanted everyone to know that I processed all the assets that were due as of now.  The total came out a little under what the total assets issued were.  Not bad but I was expecting more.  Next time it should be.  Currently until the PG is fully operational Ill be paying all asset holders from phase 1,2,3,& 4 with all invested (safe investments, Cant lose emm) returns.  All purchased assets are in investments and are paying returns.  Once the PG gets off it butt, I will be going back to the planned arrangements that were stated for phase 1,2,3, & 4.

The returns on all phases were a little under 300,000 Burst Coins.  289,637 to be exact.  I threw in a little to equal the 300,000 coins and issued then  1 to 1 for the amount of assets purchased.  This will increase over time.  and as I said once the PG is fully functional everyone should be receiveing a pretty good chunk of Burst Coin.

Thank you all.

PGround4 is still availble as I see people are trading the other assets.

if you are still interesting in purchasing assets for the playground.  You can find the final asset listed here.
block.burstcoin.info/as.php?as=13281894741436495007

Again thank you all.

I really like the idea of this coin.  It keeps the Proof of Work spirit of building awesome rigs, yet uses a fraction of the power.  May grab an extra HDD for my computer and mine, have missed having rigs around since selling off most my hardware Smiley

That's not all it does, but yes, it's very exciting in that regard as well, please do stick around, you've not seen anything yet!

Cheesy This goes for everyone. Wink

BURST is just a little late in getting recognized as it should, but it is going to be.

The mining in the traditional sense people, are going to eventually realize that it is too much hassle, they're the ones who love it obviously or they would've stopped a while ago (I still run SHA miners for heaters... lol literally...) these are the people who will find BURST, realize the above, and start building a farm, even if the profits aren't insane right now.

More and more people will do this...

Then, people will start realizing all of the other BURST features and what is truly capable with what BURST has... more and more services will be developed, assets released, and overall growth will greatly improve.

Then, it will happen...

Overnight, it will explode. Some big investor comes along and likes what they see, and decide to invest in the technology, and/or one of the projects based on the chain, and BURST goes down in history.

At least, that's how I see it anyway, but you could say I'm just a little biased. xD

I've been following Burst since 2014, but always had trouble understanding it with Linux and multiple drives.
I have a main SSD OS drive I don't want to mine on, then a platter 2TB HD(going to add more)
I have a 4770K for the processor and 750Ti for the GPU.  What is the best method you think of going about all this?
I assume I should pool mine?  How long does it take to make a 2TB Plot on CPU vs GPU.
What about 50TB?

Hi

I have shaken the dust of my HDs and started mining again. I am using the original Devs V2 Pool. It's still legit right? I do have wallet 1.2.3 and I see that it is still current.

Glad to see you back.

The V2 pool is legit.  Iv been mining on there for almost 2 weeks now and im pulling around 2,000 coins a day give or take.  Seems to payout around 250 - 300 coins.  Not the 500 that it states.  And yes the 1.2.3 still works wonders.

I recently upgraded to the 2.0 web wallet, and now I am seeing this error in a popup window when I press "start mining": You have to choose a pool first. Left side!

This happens even though I have selected a pool and previously had no problems mining using the earlier version. I get the same message whether I choose regular or GPU-assisted mining. Do I have to set up the reward assignment with the pool again, perhaps?

Choose a pool and then click "Save changes". You don't have to change reward assignment again. I'll change that the next version... so it will be more clear.

Perfect, that worked! I just didn't think of that.

My friend shows in the burst.ninja pool with "63 D + 0". How should he interpret that, that he submitted 63 valid deadlines but is awarded 0 coins?

The most straight forward thing you can do is to CPU plot using the dcct tools.
On Linux it is much simpler to plot than on Windows since you have shellscript.

If you can use the boot or a spare ssd for plotting the optimization would be much faster.
after the plot is optimized you move it to your storage location.
best way to do it is to create a scriptfile with all plots which shall be created.
each plot is then created and optimized afterwards like this (replace all marked parameters "xxx" with yours):

nice ./plotavx2 -k "replace with your numeric account id" -x 2 -d plots -s 1 -n 524288 -m 16384 -a -t 8
./optimizefiles.sh
nice ./plotavx2 -k "replace with your numeric account id" -x 2 -d plots -s "1+524288" -n 524288 -m 16384 -a -t 8
./optimizefiles.sh
nice ./plotavx2 -k "replace with your numeric account id" -x 2 -d plots -s "1+524288+524288" -n 524288 -m 16384 -a -t 8
./optimizefiles.sh

a simple optimize script i used is this (it optimizes all files in the ./plots folder and then moves it to the target location; adjust the paths if needed):

files=`find ./plots|grep _`
for i in $files; do
   ./optimize -m 4096 $i
   touch done/$i
done
mv plots/* /mnt/burst/plots/

for mining you then simply add each plotfile storage location to the miner command.

I hope this helps and is not too "technical"  Roll Eyes

You are welcome! Yeah, the less hassle the better.

CPU-assisted miner works like a charm. However, using your GPU-assisted miner I occasionally get the message "Error: Failed to submit nonce to pool: null". I believe getting many of these will decrease my earnings, even if I have a halved round time. Any suggestions as to what causes this?

My GPU card is Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M with 2GB dedicated memory (and 4GB shared system memory), 640 cuda cores etc., and it has the latest drivers.

I want to say he is on Burst.Ninja.  In a previous post he said he was mining on Burst Ninja.

It happens sometimes but the deadline is submitted nevertheless as far as I checked. False Error you could call it.

This is true.  I noticed this before as well not that you mention it.  If you have one submitted after the error I wouldn't worry about it as that DL should be better then the previous.

What miner did you say you were using?
