Selling at this price is a good decision if the user is in need. Else holding till halving makes him happy with upcoming price. At least $500 will be reached on halving from most speculations.
I guess now is the wrong time to sell everything. resist until the price reaches $ 500 or more. because it will happen soon, and when that happens you'll probably regret selling it all now, that you have to do is be patient

Yeah if selling has to be done when price reaches $500 every one needs to wait for few more months.

Yes. I think the price will be below $500 for the next few months before the halving. Then it will reach above $500.

Exactly the price will continue to be below $500 on the coming months. As price has not increased much, everyone is expecting to reach at least $450 which is far better than sitting around $410-$420 for a long time.

Yeah I think it will take time to reach $450 may be we will see that price before halving, but right now I don't think that it will move up in next couple of weeks.

Like any price predictions, anything can happen before the halving..like we are seeing with the slow climb.

So if anything we should still keep seeing small price growth before.

Yes price is rising slowly at a moment and I think that is a good sign, we don't want that it should fall back suddenly but even a slow growth is a good news for the users.

Any type of growth is better then no growth at all lol. So yeah, new users can see how it was back when we did hit those prices, and get excited all over again.

Sell everything when the price margin of bitcoin is significantly higher when you bought them, and just keep the cycle then you will have a lot of money stored in your wallet.

The way to achieve this strategy is good timing. But timing is the most difficult part to do the trading.

Market timing is just gambling. Might as well play a dice game, better odds there.

Playing dice or any other form of gambling is still the same lol.

What if the 1 roll you hit at a 90% win rate hits the roll # and goes bust on the 1st roll or how many rolls to limit.

Its better to just do nothing.

The difference, which was my point, that is that odds are better on dice. If you have your mind made up to gamble, which is what market timing is, you should gamble with something that has the best odds. Dice is highly customizable based on your risk tolerance. You can't get a 90% chance of profit trying to time the market.

For me "sell everything" will be a signal and it will mean smth like " Bitcoin is going to the end better to save your money". I really belive it will not happen soon.

Your comparison doesn't apply to people that know how to trade. People that simply yolo buy at certain price levels hoping to make some quick profits, these people are just gambling. That's not real investing as you depend on pure luck. Beside that, with gambling you end up losing all your money while with investing you end up with a certain loss. And the price can always go up again making your loss even smaller. That's the real difference.

Bitcoin is not going anywhere, its here to survive for a longer time by benefiting us in best possible ways, do not sell everything, afford to have little faith in bitcoin.

yeah but many people were waiting for higher prices. so they continue to wait to get a bigger profit. but we do not know what will happen in bitcoin
so when prices come back down they were sad because they have not sold
you must know the time to selling

We should not be too greedy I guess, if we see higher price then we should sell some coins and earn profits from it, as there is no guarantee that price will be higher in future.

Truly bitcoin doesn't go anywhere. It keeps increasing the users when years roll continuously. As mentioned above trust and hold a little for better profit.

Rules of stock trading don't apply the same for crypto because there's no underlying business or earnings providing a basis for technical analysis. Crypto is just a bunch of yahoos pumping coins and speculating. There's no real rhyme or reason to market movements except fad buying and momentum trading. That's a gamble in my book.

If you really need the money then perhaps you can better sell it.
But with the current price and the halving coming up I would say don't do it. It's a bad time to sell right now.

I might sell most of my altcoin to get some bitcoin. But I will not sell all my bitcoin to get fiat. It is too risky.

Its a good decision to sell your alt coin and keep you bitcoin because alt depends of bitcoin and bitcoin price is getting higher as the days past.

You can indeed sell everything but it wont be the smartest choice that you can take, you can also wait a longer time in the future and that can be also good for you if the price is going to rise in the future.
But the bad thing is that you never know what will happen with the value later and that is a huge problem for everyone that is using Bitcoin.

Selling everything is a good if the price is high more than the price you bought your coin and vice versa,to profit a lot we need to sell everything.

Do not sell everything at once. You will never know what the price later will be like. Maybe it goes up even higher. If you sell everything you just lost the possibility to make more money.

It is indeed not good to sell everything, and there is also no reason to do it because the value is really low around this time and many people are mad because of the value.
You can maybe sell everything later after some 2 years.

Royal Bank of Scotland economists have urged investors to sell everything except high-quality bonds, warning of a “fairly cataclysmic year ahead.”

Writing in a client note dated Jan. 8, the bank’s European rates research team said that clients should be concentrating on return of capital, not return on capital, and that an ominous outlook to the world economy “all looks similar to 2008.”

The Key Points

  • The note is particularly bearish on China and global commodities, and predicts that oil could fall as low as $16 a barrel.
  • In a grim set of predictions, Andrew Roberts, head of European economics, rates & CEEMEA research said that the world has far too much debt to be able to grow well.
  • He also warned that advances in technology and automation are set to wipe out up to half of all jobs in the developed world.
  • The note says equities could fall 10% to 20%.
  • It predicts the year will be spent focusing on how to exit positions that have benefited from long-running QE, including emerging markets, credit and equities.

Source: http://blogs.wsj.com/moneybeat/2016/01/12/rbs-warns-sell-everything/?mod=e2fbRBS

A 10 to 20% fall in equities certainly isn't a long shot. QE has produced a long run-up in stock prices, and on average, we see a market correction of 10% every two years and a 20% correction every five years. Still, the advice to "sell everything" seems a bit much.

no i still don't think that we should sell everything, i am more than sure that price won't fall down and bitcoin won't die, price of bitcoin rises each day now because of halving, soon we will go to 430$ and of course we will go to even more than that after halving, so just because of that i don't think that we should sell our bitcoins

definitely dont make such a mistake and dont sell everything that you have, the best idea would be to hold all bitcoins right now and not sell any of it, though thats just my opinion to be honest

though if you need money really bad then sell just part of it and keep on holding the others in order to make some money in the future because it will surely give you profit in a long run
