https://bravenewcoin.com/news/japans-largest-forex-market-opens-bitcoin-exchanges-to-overwhelming-demand/
Luke Parker, 03 Jun 2017
GMO Click Securities is the world’s largest FX brokerage by volume, a position it has held since 2012. With $900 billion in Forex traded during 2016 on their exchange alone.
The company estimates that the market size in Japan for cryptocurrencies will grow to 1 trillion yen daily volume, or US$8.7 billion daily within a few years.

( whats gonna happen when the rest of the world join...OMG )

now for those wondering where does XRP, Ripple fit into this....well
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otERf5Nn9e8
Japan Bank Consortium and Its Ripple-Powered Payments Platform

and another way to look at this...if the Japanese market is est @$8bill daily...think how slow btc network will become even with seg and other extras, + the tx costs will be extremly high
these same people will find XRP easily as it becomes more widely available, once you begin using XRP for transactions( like many of us) you wont go back
( try it , move some xrp funds about and see how cheap and fast it is yourselves...i dare ya lol )

+anytime this month or next...SBI VC open with only two cryptos..BTC & XRP + around 20 fiat currencies
+in aug this yr, Bank of England will announce if they will join Ripple network

Ripple expects an eighth connector to be built at the Berlin event, one that would enable integration with litecoin

Plug-in workshop

By the end of today, Ripple expects an eighth connector to be built at the Berlin event, one that would enable integration with litecoin. The process, according to Ripple executives, would take only a slight tweak of the bitcoin tool's code.

The firm further said a building session will take place, one in which it expects technologists from zcash, Lightning Network, GateHub, BigchainDB, PayPal and Monax’s Hyperledger Burrow to create yet more plug-ins.

oh i forgot to add..incase you didnt see it ..PAYPAL too lol

3) Don't sell anything at a profit if you still believe in it, unless you think you're moving to an even better opportunity or are taking significant profits.

Wow! Your activity count speaks for itself but I want to point out a couple of things.

First of all I'm still quite new but when I got into it I knew there were people like you who had stories like that "sold 40k ETH @1$" to share and I'm sure what you learned from that is invaluable as experience. And I'm sure there are people now who do have 9.5 million dollars because they didn't sell then.

The right mindset is really important. Holding long-term (10 years plus) of your main stake should be the target with small profit taking along the way and rebuys when the price drops. And I totally agree, you only need to be right once. All other coins could go to zero but if you find that one bitcoin unicorn and ride it to the top your wealth has been made. It's actually very, very simple but the vision most of us lack. And some just don't find the unicorn.

I plan to get some XRP when it's below 10k sat.  Cheesy Otherwise I'm happy with SC & NEM.

Quote from: Warren Buffett
In fact, when we own portions
of outstanding businesses with outstanding managements, our
favorite holding period is forever
.  We are just the opposite of
those who hurry to sell and book profits when companies perform
well but who tenaciously hang on to businesses that disappoint.
Peter Lynch aptly likens such behavior to cutting the flowers and
watering the weeds.

if anyones wondering...why im so confident about xrp....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwkC8WaN5T4 Davos 2016 - The Transformation of Finance
What trends and uncertainties are shaping the future of financial services?

Transformations to be addressed:
- Digitization and new business models.
- Regulatory requirements and new client needs.
- Data privacy and systemic connectedness.

Speakers:
-John Cryan, Co-Chief Executive Officer, Deutsche Bank, Germany.
-James P. Gorman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Morgan Stanley, USA.
-Christine Lagarde, Managing Director, Monetary Fund (IMF), Washington DC.
-Dan Schulman, Chief Executive Officer, PayPal, USA.
-Tom de Swaan, Chairman of the Board and Group Chief Executive Officer ad Interim, Zurich Insurance Group, Switzerland.

Moderated by Gillian R. Tett, Managing Editor, US, Financial Times, USA.

I think peeps who havent saw this should def check it out, with some of the biggest players around , discussing crypto in a positive way at the world trade conf (that would have been unheard of a few yr ago). it shows the direction the world of finance is heading....crypto will be the underlying tech securing everyones data...
BTC is not suitable for the job...they needed sumthing like ETH. ETH is a technology that wil secure everyones future security as we move into a new world of IOT and a cashless society.
Finally if u look at the date of the video and then look at when ETH began to take off

R3 connects 11 banks to distributed ledger using Ethereum and Microsoft Azure Grin Grin Grin knew this last week  Tongue
guys...thoughts on this...https://ripple.com/solutions/retail-remittances/#demovideo

“We view blockchain as a competitive advantage that allows us to provide differentiated products, serve the on-demand expectations of our existing clients, and grow our customer base. For example, using the Ripple solution, we are working on a new commercial payment service for retail customers that will allow them to send money from China to the U.S. and other countries in real-time.”

— Andrew Fang, General Manager & Head of Innovation and Research at Shanghai Huarui Bank

XRP is getting ready to go over $1billion cap soon  Cool

i highly reccomend watching this video again  Wink
i watched the davos 2016...i saw paypal , imf and all the others talk positive about how to adapt to crypto ( now both + more are with XRP, Ripple)
i knew they were coming.i knew they were into DL..but i didnt know which angle....i think they didnt know either lol
i think they tried with eth, it worked for many use cases but not all...
step in xrp ripple....ready with all the tech and fixes after feedback from the big guys....
the big guys agree...xrp ripple and eth will both serve a purpose, one as a smart contract tool the other as a financial datawarehouse.
ETH for IOT, XRP for cashless society ( as japan video i posted above clearly explains)
i saw  XRP remittance video and was seriously impressed...i knew it, it had to be the DL tech they were looking for since r3 kinda feel apart....then as the weeks/months passed...it was real..it is real

i did my research for yrs.( and still do )..i stuck and stick to the plan. ..well tried to as much as i could...not easy..but im now coming to realise like many others we were right.

tip...always research and make a plan...then try your best to stick to the plan  Wink

This is just the begining of the crypto takeover of the world....start researching and planning ahead guys  Cool

but what are you buying the actual coins are not used the tech is, so xrp is a share of ripple labs, when it isn't. because as soon as it is listed on the stock exchange the coin its self becomes valueless. the value of the coin is seen in the ripple labs, but demand doesn't go up. speculation in the coin goes up.

forget the banks for a minute...
lets talk just crypto...have you ever transacted more than $1k of btc?  im sure you have and you see yourself the high fees and slow speeds
now have you tried to transact $1k of XRP?...im sure you havent because if you did you would see the benefits that XRP provides to the user, such as super fast speeds and super cheap cost
so i would say..Ripple labs has its own value and XRP is a digital assest that is one of the best cryptos to perform as a real digital worldwide currency  Wink

lols

tbh, we speculate on what is possible , with the experience we have gained over the yrs..
what ever price you paid, it was your choice to pay, research before buying and selling.
....as for paypal...coindesk and other media are telling us...maybe try googling around or contact coindesk and they could verify for you , tom lol
Ripple and r3 are both groups involved with big FI & corps that want to use crypto for various business use cases.  Smiley

I think there are two things here, and it depends on your personal viewpoint:

A) You have faith long-term that Ripple will be a success, and that XRP will be THE token of use on the RCL, and that price will rise. In this case, speculation about paypal is immaterial - you are holding long-term regardless.

or B) You are buying and selling XRP for profits on short-term trades. In this case, the salient point is that speculation is invariably priced-in before the event, as we've seen recently with LTC and segwit (the price started climbing as soon as the rumours started... and pretty much immediately after the official announcement, the price fell). So what you need here to make a profit is either awareness of rumours before they become widespread, or else the skill to read markets.

exactly. those people who ask this question is more on a day trading system as they wanted to know if there's an update which will happen to such project then hype it up into the market to accumulate then sell the news and gain in return i like the way you answer this and its really helpful to assess whether what type of a traders is much better for this coin.

*We have seen Ethereum get things right, and propel itself meteorically, mostly by virtue of building a good community. Yes, they have great technology, and multiple independent teams working on evolving it, but most importantly, they have a functioning community.   ( so does XRP now  Smiley )

In contrast, communities that look to shock jocks for guidance, that treat professional trolls and the people who prop them up as developers or leaders, are bound to trip up on their own narrative. We have seen Bitcoin maximalism fail in every conceivable way, and the angst that the maximalists face now stems from their own desires conflicting with the very hooliganism they propped up for years.
