Although I am a fan of McLaren and don't enjoy much the races since 3 or more years now, yesterday was a wonderful race to watch with a lot of action going on in different points of the track. Final stage was beautiful and I think the Mercs did the right strategy in the end of the race to limit damages.

Indeed, probably best race in this season so far. Hamilton had terrible start, later Kimi hitted him. Then Lewis didn't had problems to overtake slower oppinents, also Ericsson accident and safety car on track helped him a lot. And on last laps we saw close fight between Mercedes and Ferarri drivers and retirement of Verstappen. Vettel extended his championship leader position up to 8 points. Hamilton was very disappointed after finnish.
And we often see Kimi on podium this season, but I can't remember when he won last time

Yes, it was a very good drive by Lewis Hamilton but his comment after the race was very unprofessional. He said that Ferrari's strategy was interesting like he was implying that Kimi Raikonnen hit his car intentionally.

Also, I reckon Lewis should not act high and morally superior on everyone because he too had made some mistakes in his career.

If there's a time Hamilton should get one win vs Vettel after losing at Silver Stone, this is the perfect race to do it.    There's nothing like seeing someone beating an opponent in the latter's home race.

Unfortunately chances are very slim for him to do it unless we see a safety car in the first few laps. He broke the car yesterday in qualifying and it will start if I am not mistaken in 14th place today. Nevertheless will be a great race to watch and Hockenheim is unpredictable so it will be an emotionful race.

I was kinda half expecting this and should have bet on Hamilton finishing on the podium.  I think that bet would have paid 2.00 - 3.00 of my bet...?  Dunno.

Great win from him. The weather helped him but he totally deserved it, I just hate team orders which Ferrari is famous for. Although Mercedes did it too, unfortunately and I hate it too. I think Hamilton would have won in both cases even if Vettel would have not crashed because Vettel was with Medium consumed tyres while Hamilton just had fitted Ultrasoft.

Was Lewis Hamilton's move on the grass, when he was on his way to go into the pitstop and then ordered to stay out at the last second, a legal move? I reckon it was unfair because there was the same incident that happened to Kimi and the FIA gave him a 10 second penalty for it.

^  Heh.  Obviously it was an illegal move.  Hamilton clearly crossed the line that separates the pit entry from the track.  But oh well, due to some bs reasons from the stewards he wasn't given the penalty.

I was reading in the news today that he got some sort of Penalty but which didn't affect his winning position. A lot of speculation going on these days and that move was clearly illegal where other drivers have got a 10 second penalty but Lewis probably will be starting a few positions down the grid the next race which is this Sunday on Hungaro ring if the news is true.

I was forced to skip this race and only now watched replay. Yeah, I also can't understand why Lewis didn't got penalty. If another driver would make something similar, there is no doubts that he would get 10 second time/stop&go penalty. I read somewhere that he got only warning after race.

I guess this is when Merc starts gaining momentum and wins the whole thing again (same as last year)?  Vettel shouldn't have crashed.  I mean at least be at the podium or at the top 5 to keep close in points vs Hamiltion.  If he doesn't gain those points back, I think this race could haunt him.

It was a race I won't forget in long time like who imagined to win from 14th spot that crash is definitely going to haunt him unless he makes amends but chances like this should be taken up and not left he's let gone of a beautiful chance and I think he won't be happy with himself. It'll be interesting if he'll recover going ahead or he'll drop more points.

Before his win in Germany, Lewis has signed a new 2 year contract with Mercedes. What does this suggest for Daniel Ricciardo who was indirectly saying that he wanted to go drive for Mercedes? Valterri has also said that news of his extension with Mercedes will be announced.

I speculate if Kimi leaves Ferrari then Daniel will be Sebastian Vettel's new partner on 2019.

Anyway it's the Hungarian GP.  It should be Vettel's race this time but the bookies have Hamiltion at 5.00 - 6.00 to win the race?  Really?  I think it's more than fair value unless there's something wrong with the Merc car or I missed something...?  The lines should change soon after quali.

Guys...?  Anybody watching this?  I think this is gonna be the most important race of the season for Vettel.  If he's not gonna win this, then it's gonna solidify Hamilton's road to the championship.  The German GP was the turning point, this race is what will wrap it up.

Yes this is going to be the season defying race and a loss for Vettle is going to be the ultimate sign that's he lost it, I'm sure his confidence is badly shaken with what happened in the last race but he's holding it so far, but then it's to early to say will he be able to pull it out or he'll end up giving up this time too, I'm sure the excitement is growing for all.

So what...  On top of my head, Hamilton is 25 points in the lead now?  I think Vettel will have a hard time narrowing that down if Hamilton keeps getting podiums from here on out.

I'm not sure that's crucial race in the season, there are still enough races left, everything still can happen. But Hungary always was track of Frerarri in recent years and Mercedes didn't had good results there. But that qualifying session and rain messed up things yesterday. It's always difficult to overtake in this track, especially in such hot conditions, so Vettel didn't had chances to win today. And also, Ferarri wasted to much time during pit stops today.
Amd what do you guys think about Vettel-Bottas collision? Persoanally I think it was just racing accident without need for penalty for any of drivers. But Bottas got 10 sec. penalty for hitting Ricciardo (this penalty didn't changed anything in standings.
Ricciardo was brilliant today - started from P12, finnished in P4 and he made some nice overtakes today. But Red Bull have engine problems way too often - this time Max had to retire early. He and Horner was very disappointed about Renault engines.

@LTU_btc. Redbull must love having engine problems because they will get more of them next year when the start using the Honda engines hehehe.

Also, Lewis was very lucky in the last 2 races because of rain.

Ricciardo will join Renault after this season. Wow! It's really surprising move. Most of people expected that he will join Ferarri or extend contract with Red Bull. But probably he didn't wanted to be NR2 driver in Ferarri. Now I would say that Kimi will sign new contract with Ferarri.
Why Ricciardo left Red Bull? Maybe because that Red Bull will start to use Honda engines next year and Ricciardo afraid of that. On the other hand, failures of Renault engines cause many retirements for Red Bull this season. Renault team is improving a lot in recent years, but I don't believe that they can become TOP 3 team.
Who will replace Ricciardo in Red Bull? I would predict that one of Torro Rosso driver.
