Ethereum: Good alt or stay away?

I hope that the author of this thread listened to advice and left ETH for long-term storage. Since 2016 (the beginning of this topic) until today, the price of this coin has grown drastically. From this we can conclude - be calm and believe in crypto.

Yes Ether has been a great investment since the original post, I think it will continue to push higher over 2018 and may begin to take away more of the mainstream media attention from bitcoin. It always seems funny the amount of talk about bitcoin in the media and not ETH.

Ethereum unlike most other coin has a problem it is solving. It is a smart contract platform and alot of projects are using their network to deploy their smart contract, almost one in a every two ICO these days are been deploy on ethereum network. So it is a good hold.

In my opinion Ethereum is the real deal. Backed by major companies via EEA wanting to build dApps on the Ethereum Blockchain, Ethereum has the potential to be the biggest out there in a few years. Ethereum is continuously pushing the boundaries on their daily transactions and making some impressive moves in the crypto work. Ethereum hasn’t come close to mainstream adoption yet, but there are hundreds, possibly thousands of applications in development. Many of these applications are focused on making Ethereum more accessible and user friendly. I can say that Ethereum is definitely a good altcoin.

On my opinion, Ethereum is not just a good coin but a best coin/altcoin. I think it will be good and valuable just like Bitcoin after a long ride. Its price will be more stable soon or it will be recovered.

Hi everyone, I've been around for a while now.. 
I've seen a lot of posts positive and negative about Ethereum.

At the moment I am holding Bitcoins, but I have invested in some Ether as well.

Now I am wondering, what are legitimate concerns about Ether (except for IPO, as I've already read this in a lot of posts).

So can anyone bring real other issues to the table, to enlighten me (and maybe a lot of other readers?)

I look back at the comments from last year everyone had a negative view on ETH but now those people must regret what they underestimate about it. And even this time there are still some people who are skeptical of what it can bring in the future.

Ethereum is good altcoin there's no reason to stay away to it because there's a big possibility you can get a higher earning and have a lot of profit to this altcoin. Also ethereum is the only altcoin right now that high in value so even there's a huge dropping in the market. Besides it is the altcoin that can possible to be second best in bitcoin. Also ethereum is rising and continue to rise its value even more.

Ethereum is one altcoin that i like, i have some ethereum as my cryptocurrency asset other than bitcoin.
Ethereum is well developed right now, has a pretty good platform and is in great demand by the cryptocurrency investors.

yes ethereum is very nice and now have an alternative to get it is a token that can be converted into ethereum. But I think all coin prices are unstable, so the price of ethereum is clearly unstable. if the price is stable chances are no one will be interested again with ethereum what else the price is small. will definitely die if nobody is interested in ethereum.
