If this info : http://videocardz.com/amd/radeon-rx-400/radeon-rx-490
is real.
Then please take my money...
Cheesy
All next big gpus will be similar in memory bandwidth
So perf will be similar (we will know when polaris is tested - I dont know if i can but I think i'll get it before launch - maybe around 20th of june)
So its just the matter who is early and what is the price
But its not pure memory bandwidth question as you all know - fury x is far from 60mhs - am i wrong?

The furyx is 40MHASH in copyspeed, and you will never reach copyspeed.

uhu, Fury X does around 32-33Mh (stock), correct me if i'm wrong..

yes but based on the bandwidth,, should be much higher, so that is not the only parameter that matter

The Nano/Fury have a MUCH higher rated memory bandwidth than my R9 290 cards do - yet do right about the SAME hashrate.

If memory bandwidth was the only issue, they'd be more like a 50MH ballpark card.

RX 480 has less memory bandwidth - it's 256 bit not 512 bit - than my R9 290s do. Higher clock makes up a lot of the difference, but half the width is a big hit.

Archetechure changes MIGHT make it faster - but they might make it SLOWER too, no way to know 'till someone actually works with one on Ethereum mining.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

I think AMD should release a 512 bit memory bus card like 390, but runs faster and run with lower power.

For the 390, if you set the memory speed to be 1500MHz, the hashing speed is limited by the core frequency.

So why the 390x does not run faster than the 390, it has more cores.

So i just ordered a GTX1080 today mostly for my VR, but i`m wondering what king of hashing speed i can get out of it to recoup some of the cost
the only stats i found so far was aroung 23MH for ETH, that is just 3mh more than my gtx 980, Can anyone shed some light on this .?

I have the same question. I read some where one guy bought the 390x to mine Etheruem because it is cheaper than 390.

Ethereum is not bandwidth limited, rather latency-limited.
ie time to get random not cached data from memory
Which in turn is dependant on number of memory partitions/controllers (so indirectly bus width)
Thats the reason why dual-miner is possible, Claymore added a gpu-core limited algo (decred) to ether memory/latencylimited one.
Thus Decred is mined for free, because it runs while GPU is fetching data for ethereum algo, and decred data fits in cache.

Polaris may benefit if equipped with GDDR5 @2000MHz, will suffer if equipped with GDDR5X @ 1000MHz (although in both cases effective bandwidth is same, reported as 8000MHz)

not entirely for free, there is a small increase in the wattage, nothing is for free in this world, you always pay in way or another

Reading more and more press teases that Polaris will be a really positive surprise.
Hope this will reflect in mining as well.

Also makes you wonder why 1080 is stock overclocked to the limit?
Some reviewers only squeezed 20Mhz out of core for non-reference cards Tongue

The GTX 1080 is slower than the 1070 in mining the Ethereum. There is no point in getting that for mining.

wow that`s really bad, but i did read somewhere that widows runs it a 1/4 to 1/5 of what you would get under linux.
